When we added our Pergola we found out we needed something to block the afternoon sun. We installed the Shade on the inside the Pergola because we couldn’t attach because the 96 inches width.

Best investment for our porch. We have a screened in porch but when moving all the furniture in the middle was a pain before rain storms. We purchased patio drapes but the wind blew those everywhere. We hung up shower curtains for warmth in the winter and to keep out the rain but they got ugly and it got old opening and closing. These coolaroos are the best. Very simple to install and minutes to roll up and down. Not only do they provide shade but they keep out the rain perfectly. Wish I knew about it these sooner:

We had conducted much research on the exterior blinds requirement for our new patio. We selected Coolaroo Sesame Cordless fabric product and it has exceeded our expectations. Not only does it shade, but wind can not open it up as the handles raise and lower the shade as desired and locks into position. The hooks anchor the shade and its attractive from both inside and outside views. We highly endorse this product.

Finally!! We installed these shades on our pergola after so many attempts at shade. They work great, fabric is perfect, just enough light comes through. Couldn't be happier!!

I purchased this online about a month ago in the Mahogany color. It is a very nice shade, easy to install, well made and packaged well. It doesn't fully block the neighbors annoying porch light but it does help to filter the light to where I can enjoy my porch until I can hang a beautiful flower basket.

Shade great the piece that holds the crank split within 3 cranks so thats why its getting a 3 star rating.

We are using it to keep some heat in in an outside sitting area this fall and it works well

I immediately liked the care given to the packaging of the shades, it COMFY-COZYamply protected from shipping damage. Included instructions allowed for an easy and exact installation. Now in place, the shades operate smoothly and provide excellent cover from glare and heat. I now spend a great deal of day time on my patio in comfort. I am very happy with my purchase.

Light weight yet sturdy. I purchased the 6 foot long model with the crank shaft. The reviews said the model with the crank shaft were sturdier. The tie-downs also work well. Definitely a 2 person installation. We installed 3 shades in about 1 hour.

We ordered two for our covered patio and they are fantastic! We've had them for almost a month and use them almost every day. I flipped the control arm on one of the units so the cranks on the two shades are next to each other. The entire installation was easy and the directions were clear and easy to understand.

These are so awesome, I highly recommend these. They block the wind as well as the bright late afternoon sun. They tuck up inside our gazebo perfectly, can't really notice them when rolled up. So worth the price!

Bought it to keep rain off furniture on porch worked great. So bought another for other side to block late afternoon sun. Both working great. Easy to install but used different screws ones sent cheap and strip easily.

Flimsy, poorly designed, and generally inadequate for even modest function as an exterior shade. It clearly will not hold up or protect an enclosed area even in moderate wind or rain conditions, which is the least a consumer should expect from exterior shades. Also had serious problems with Home Depot's online ordering system which doubled what I actually ordered and then offered no way to edit/change or cancel its own error an hour later. Home Depot's agents were virtually inaccessible. When I did finally get hold of them, they could not correct the order, nor could the local stores even access the online system to make the corrections. I was forced to wait for delivery, then return the unordered, unwanted portion with more delays and a waste of my time. Things I did to correct for the deficiencies of the shades, like the reported clutch-eyelet breakage problem, or re-enforcement of the edge seams were also a waste of time considering the general fragility of the shades and clumsy roll-up system. In my opinion, over-marketed and over-hyped. Manufacturer's suggestion: "roll them up in wind or bad weather." What a ridiculous instruction for a product claiming to be an "exterior shade". This item was easy to assamble very good quality and meet our expectations

The shades work great and seem very sturdy. We have had them up a couple weeks now. The only thing I would change is to make them a bit more opaque. We are using them on the deck and a little more privacy would have been nice. They are good for blocking major brightness of the sun and heavier winds are knocked down to a nice breeze. The handle for raising and lowering if very nice. Make sure to follow all the bends to make it easy. The bungees at the bottom are great and hold the shades in place. I would recommend you get some sturdy plastic anchors because the ones in the box have no head and go straight through the wood when you hammer them in.

Easy to put up. Easy to change crank directions. Apparently strong, sturdy, well built hardware. A good value.

Inexpensive, easy to put up. works well (love the sturdy crank roll-up feature)...sturdy, come in a smart package (far better than Amazon's)...sad part... (and the only reason I gave it 4 stars)....the style and color are "discontinued" - which explains the low price? I called the "Coolaroo" 800 number and got that from a salesman. Oh..and no custom sizes. 4 foot, 6 foot, 8 foot. Make due. I did. You might need to overlap them if the length doesn't work.

I have three of these shades to block the afternoon sun on our front porch. They were easy to install, but you have to measure carefully for the brackets. Also, you have to make sure the left side of the shade snaps completely into its bracket.

Just installed. Flexible install options. Need a power drill. Since these are outdoors, time will tell how durable they are.

Theater exactly what I wanted.

Bought two of these (72") about 15 months ago. They worked great the few times we have actually used them. They are mounted outside on a porch, blocked from the sun and elements. Yesterday, we learned the hard way that the plastic ring for inserting the turning rod is the weak link in the design. The ring should have been metal, especially when being turned by a metal rod.

A beautiful design. Easy to install. But, most of all it does NOT flap in the wind. We love it!!!!!

I purchased three of these 10 ft shades for our large deck. Although the deck is covered, it is exposed to the afternoon sun. And, as the sun gets lower in the sky it shines quite brightly into our kitchen. With two of the shades I reversed the shade crank - not difficult as long as you follow the directions. The shades are much lighter than I expected, and fairly easy to put up, although you will definitely need a 2nd person to help when putting them up. Because of the location, I haven't figure out yet how I want to do the anchors to hold down the shades in slight wind, however, so far it hasn't been an issue. You will want to make sure that the end caps are mounted securely - I lucked out as mine were able to be secured to the inside of the fascia. Well constructed and easy to install. Definitely recommended.
