The shears were not sharp. I attempted to trim some irises and they would not cut. I returned the item the next day.

Work great

The HS 4344 I own failed after using it on less than 10 occasions. There are many other reviews on various shopping sites of people having the same problem. The rivet that holds the lower ends of the blades together, broke and fell out. The rivet is flush with the blades as the handles slide across both ends of the rivet, so it also can't be replaced with a bolt or other simple fastener. Corona requires the customer to pay for shipping of the defective unit to the warranty department for evaluation and possible replacement. If this were a high quality hedge shear that had failed after a lot of hard use I'd be glad to spend the postage for a warranty replacement but I don't want to waste money on postage for a replacement that may also fail quickly.

SHEARS ARE WELL BUILT, GOOD MATERIALS AT A FAIR PRICE.

These are the best hedge shears I have ever owned or used. Gel padded handles make this very, very, comfortable. Seems to be very well made and I would expect them to be very durable. They are easy to work with and seem to almost glide with every slice. Blades are plenty sharp and cut thru my shrubs easily, leaving a nice sheared edge. Worked great on some of my evergreen shrubs and trimming of some photinia.

Product easy to use and effective!

This cutter is strong and last a long time

I didn't realize how "top heavy" my old shears were until I used these. The blades of the shears are thinner than my old ones but it make them easier to use for long periods of time. I did not really stress out the limb cutter but the few bigger branches I use it on seemed to cut without an issue. The blades are sharp and cut the bushes cleanly. I was surprised by how well the Shock-Guard™ bumpers worked to soften the blows when cutting. All in all a pretty good tool.

Excellent, sturdy tool that cuts easily and cleanly and is more comfortable to use than most hedge shears, due to comfort gel handles. It is of good weight and quality. Overall balance is excellent, with some moderate heaviness to head vs. handles. Good reach and overall, one of the better garden tools. Capable of cutting half inch branches with relative ease.

I just used it one day it is good for what I need to do.

The ComfortGEL 8 in. Hedge Shear replace and old worn out shear. The " ComfortGel grips really are comfortable, and the Shock Guard is a nice touch. The have a hang up pouch so they are on the wall and out of the way. Of course they cut well being new. Got a feeling these will be the last shears I will ever buy. They seem well made and meet my need.

Definitely exceeded my expectations. It was sharp enough to cut through the grasslands I call my front yard after the heavy rain pour we had back to back the past days prior. I also have the shorter hedge shears from this brand. It’s an excellent product. Handle allows for a firm comfortable grip.

These shears are average run-of-the-mill quality. The blades are narrow and too flexible. The first 5" is just 1" wide, then rapidly tapering to a point. This low profile causes them to twist and separate if trying to cut thicker branches too far from the pivot. The blades curve towards each other over their length so that there is a clear gap when closed. This causes the blades to not scissor evenly, as they move well for the first two inches, then grind slightly, until slipping easily for the last two inches. The handles are strong and the grips are firm and non-slip. I expect they will substantially outlast the blades.

Looking for a good replacement set of shears for 40 year old set that was handed down from my grandfather. One advantage over my previous pair is weight. The handles on these are made of aluminum and the blades are made of a much heavier duty steel than my previous set. These also have a very comfortable grip that will make cutting thicker branches less cumbersome. As with anything else only time will tell on their longevity.
