Shame, shame on Cub Cadet... The mower itself is my favorite piece of equipment I have ever owned. Far exceeded my expectations. The bagger on the other hand is poorly built with cheap materials. If it was $100, maybe, but it would still be disposable equipment. But at $500 it is shame. A new manufacturer is needed for Cub Cadet or a re-factor. I read all of the reviews that said how poor the bagger was, but there is no other option.

i used my zt1 42 for 1 month and the clips that hold the top closed broke i ordered replacements and install for the new season and they did not last much longer.Not pleased with thus unit

Bagger system is first rate - overdone actually. 26lb of steel framework & 55lbs front ballast! But the bags I received are uselessly tiny and incredibly flimsy. Completely plastic and cheap plastic at that. Obviously intended as a consumable item (bags.)

The zero turn mower was better then expected.

The clear hose could be solid black because it is covered with grass in an hour. Works great though.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the bagger one time and took it right back off. It's the 21st century and you cant design a better bagger than this? The mower is long enough as it is, couldn't you design a slimmer bag system? To drive this thing around trees and fences and outbuildings is frustrating at the very least. The plastic cover is very flimsy. And I don't imagine that the clear tube will stand up to the sunlight for more than a couple seasons...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this grass catcher for my new ZTI-42 mower the end of last season. The top has been slowly falling apart. Tried many patches, zip ties and bungee cords. I'm sure some of the parts that have broken off have ended up in the grass bag on a second pass, Flimsy construction.

The bagger unit was ordered with my new Ultima ZT1. From 1st use, the tabs would open up while mowing, shooting the clippings out onto the lawn, until I would turn around to notice. I had owned a previous Cub Cadet tractor with bagging attachment for 18 years, and it worked amazingly well compared to this new product. After 6 months of cutting my yard (1/2 acre with trees, bushes, above ground pool, and shed to mow around), the Bagging unit plastic assembly surrounding the bags is all but destroyed. The tabs are broken, the covers constantly come off of the hanger bars, and the covers fly open more often than they stay closed. I NEVER had this issue with the previous bagging system from Cub Cadet....after 18 years of use, that bagger is in better shape than this one with with 6 months use. Honestly, I am avoiding using the bagger unit due to all of these difficulties, and only use it when absolutely necessary. The mower itself is good. However, even with being very careful, I find that it digs ruts in the grass when turning on damp grass, and it is difficult (if not impossible) to turn while going down-hill (It wants to go straight). Personally I wish that I had purchased another tractor instead of the Zero turn unit.

They sent the wrong piece in the box that connects the chute to the mower .. so i basically paid $500 for a trash collecter that sits on the back of my mower .. thanks a lot for not hving the right part in the package

Was easy to put together, took 30 mins. Latch hasn’t broken, I did mess up and did pay attention to the plastic near the deck and it ate up some of plastic

Mows great and fast! Runs great, easy starter. Only thing was directions for the bagger show an angle iron which attaches the bracket, no such bracket is there! I had to make one. Easily done though.

The bagger is very flimsy I don’t believe it will last very long the chute assembly is solid.

I wish I would have bought this sooner. It makes mowing around things and different bends in my yard so much easier.

The instructions weren’t very clear and each of the two bags are not much bigger than a push mower bagger. Good for extremely small yard I guess. But mines not.

I would not recommend and have requested a complete refund, after 4 months of using the clips broke , it is being held by bungy cords and duck tape, definitely not what I expected for $495 dollars

im on my second bagger already and this mower is barely a year old. if you so much as look at the plastic wrong it breaks. the latch though simple wears out after a couple uses. currently have a bungie holding the hood down since the latches don't hold the hood during use. that said, when in use this works wonderfully. since I don't feel like going another 6 months waiting for replacment parts I am going to just modify this to suit my needs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After about 5 uses the left clip that holds the lid closed broke, and the clips that hold the left side of the cover on the frame cracked and now the cover just falls off while you are cutting.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The plastic used to manufacture this bagger is garbage. The clips holding the lid shut broke during the first use and now I am tying it shut after every emptying. This process adds an hour to my cut time. Although I love the mower, I am very disappointed for an expensive attachment.

It works well. The box upon receiving was mangled to all heck. Other than that fine.

This bagger gets a so/so rating but its the only one for my Cub Cadet ZT1 42” mower so I didnt have many options. Only took about an hour to assemble. Other reviews are correct that the top plastic could be hardier but I think its lightweight plastic to save on weight, the grass in the double bags does get heavy so if the top cover was metal or thicker plastic it would just add that much extra weight to the mower overall. The install height is actually good, i was thinking it was a touch low but once I mowed with it I realized its the perfect height as there are a couple spots I need to duck or lean to avoid branches on my property and the top of the bagger cleared all perfectly. Easy to slide the bags in and out and the bags themselves are made out of high quality fabric and very durable bottom and grab handle to help flip and dump. No product is perfect and I’ll be attaching my own tie-line or cord to the lid so it doesnt lean too far forward and break at the hinge point but otherwise even the shoot installed at the mower deck is no wider then the stock outlet shoot so anywhere you can get with your stock Zt1 width wise you’ll be able to fit with this bagger on. I give it 5 stars because Im very happy with it so far. And my ZT1 mower is Awesome! Thanks Cub Cadet and Kohler motors.. great combo!

I bought a new cub cadet zero turn last summer and also the double bagger. The bagger has broken within a year.... along the hinge the plastic all cracked and grass blows out.

Sadly, i should have realized the other reviews, were correct. I love the mower, however specifically got the 42 inch after buying a 50 inch last yeat, so the 42 inch would fit in my back fenced yard with a bagger. Just used for the second time and the clip breaks and the seal around the top of the lid keeps coming off. Mind you, after seeing the reviews of some others i was particularly careful mowing, being sure not too hit any obstacles behind the mower. Now that the clip broke, if take off mowing full speed, the bag on the side of the broken clip now comes out of the rack frame and i will have to fabricate some kind of latch to keep everything closed and together. Cub Cadet mowers absolutely love the design and how they perform have cut down on mowing time by more than half. However, I wish they will spend some more time, looking at the quality of a $450 attachment, that is what specifically I sought after in deciding to go with a cub cadet again.

This product is cheaply made, I believe cub cadet knows the issues with and the why they came out with a newer model B. When you go to cub cadet website it states model B replaced model A. Home Depot only shows model A but I figured with the back log I would get model B. It works for now.
