My house is older and has not been rewired. I just had a feeling that I needed a surge protector for my tv, dvd player, lamp, and to plug in my battery chargers. I paid attention and bought this 4-outlet surge protector and I also noticed it had two USB ports. I am glad I paid attention to my intuition and bought this item right away because within one day, during one of our storms, it prevented a surge from coming through. With the two USB ports I can plug in chargers directly. I plan to buy a surge protector for every room.

I thought this was exactly what I needed, except that it stopped working a few months in. The electrical plugs work fine, but the usb ports stopped working. Otherwise, I liked the style of it and the fact that the plug into the wall is flat, which is convenient for placing behind funiture. Unfortunately, that isn't enough and I will be returining this item.
