Customer Reviews for DEWALT 15 Amp Corded 12 in. Double-Bevel Compound Miter Saw

I bought the Dewalt DWS716, the motor failed after about 2 weeks of limited use. The saw is rated at 15 amps, however it trips my 20 amp breaker often. I retuned the saw for same model and it's also tripping the 20 amp breaker. I feel the new saw might be developing the same problem.

This is a high quality tool and a good value. It is relatively simple to adjust in both miter and bevel and it was pretty well adjusted out of the box.

Dewalt has Awesome Machines

Happy with this purchase initially. I found an old work glove and a screw in the box along with the product which was a bad sign to begin with, I suppose, because after 1-2 weeks of use it started making weird noises and the blade would stop turning in contact with the wood. Disappointed.

I bought this saw assuming I was getting the latest from a brand with a solid reputation. Brought it back, set it up, but guess what? No shadow cut line. Ryobi's basic miter saws have the shadow cut line. LED lights are everywhere, on everything. Every tool and drill has them. Not this saw. Not the "cadillac" of chop saws. Ridiculous. Oh, but it's available on an "XPS" version of THE SAME SAW for a full 1/3 increase in cost, and not available locally. I don't appreciate having my time wasted.

Seemed ok for the first week if not just a bit slow to spin up. But yesterday was working alongside a five year old (homeowner) Ryobi 10" slider with the original blade and this Dewalt was getting absolutely smoked. Cutting 6" pine first cuts and what should be a 3 second cut was easily 6-7 while feathering the handle so the thing wouldn't stall. I gave mediocre stars because for the price, it's capable enough. Is it 'Dewalt'? Not by a mile. Obviously this is a 10" motor shoved into a 12" saw.

Dewalt is owned by Stanley Black & Decker, which makes mediocre tools. I have no idea is mediocrity is going to creep into the making of Dewalt tools, but one thing I can say, the company sucks. Trying to reach their tech support people is difficult if not impossible at times. When you get them, they don't understand what you're telling them and end up sending the wrong parts--more than once. This company probably cares more about their retailers/distributors than their end users. Be forewarned!

Is a versatile excellent tool , easy to use adjustments, a solid powerful machine. Smooth operating and true cut.

Upgraded from a 10" saw and am happy with the added cutting coverage. The saw itself is durable, but also light enough to carry outside from the workshop to avoid the buildup of sawdust indoors.

So far so good. Easy to operate, clean straight cuts. Seems sturdy and runs smooth. Only gripe is that the first day I used it, I noticed one of the small screws was laying on the table next to the saw, I looked around the saw to see where it came out of, but I couldn't figure it out. I will look it over again.

Haven’t used it yet, but it’s DeWalt so I feel comfortable it’ll work as planned.

The tool itself is fantastic. Getting the tool and dealing with Home Depot staffwas a nightmare
