Better than expected

The trimmer works great and has a long battery life as I was able to do both the front and back yard on one charge and the battery had plenty of juice left to even run my DeWalt vacuum when prepping and cleaning my central air condenser. However, the trimmer has a little heft to it which could cause a few minor issues with some people and the line feeder can be a little difficult at times as it was twisted inside the head from the factory. This was an simple fix.

I think the combination was a really goodbye. Everything works very well and is Dewalt quality only saying that I’m not super happy with and it’s 100% my fault is I did not check to see what the CFM rating was on the blower. It works well, but I’ve used to a stronger or higher CFM blower so it’s a little weaker than what I wanted, but it is what it is and again it works well it’s DeWalt quality product!

I was recommended this by a Home Depot associate. I was going to purchase a gas trimmer but the associate said this was just as good as a gas trimmer. I used it for a week and took it back because it just does not do what a gas trimmer can do. If you have a condo with a little yard with weeds that are no higher than 6 inches this trimmer may work for you. I was burning through 6amp hour batteries within 20 minutes. I fortunately have a lot of batteries, but they are not cheap, if you don’t already own multiple DeWalt batteries, I would not go this route. things I dislike The line feeding mechanism is complete garbage. If you even bump the head on the ground, it throws out more line. It was frustrating trying to keep the trimmer low enough to the ground to cut, but not hitting the ground at all. You have to continually clean grass out of the head to keep it from clogging and overheating the motor. It’s really unbalanced unless you put a very big battery in the back. Normally weedeaters are tail heavy this one is opposite. Things I like I like how lightweight it is. I like that it folds up. I like that it doesn’t have to have gas mixed. It’s a great product. It just is not for me or my yard. Like I said if you have a small yard under a half acre with very little thick weeds you probably will be fine and it will work great for you. Just get the big batteries.
