Mower works great! its light weight and I can cut my 1/3 of an acre in 30 minutes twice before needing to charge the battery. Super easy to use and the vertical storage saves a lot of space in my garage. It will take any Dewalt battery but the two that come with the mower are 20v 10amp batteries. Perfect mower for the suburban yard.

Power is excellent. Battery life is even better than advertised. Controls are well positioned and easy to use. Problem...discharge is miserable. Clogs up, must stop and clean every couple minutes. Really needs redesigned. Under deck paint peeled after 10 hours.

I have been well pleased with the durability of the batteries, I cut the lawn 1 and a1/2 times on a full charge. Only drawback so far is the self propel lever as to be pulled all the way up to work it needs some adjustment

Not quite what I expected in a $500 mower.
The brand-new mower crapped out after 20 minutes of mowing. Not hardcore grass-up-to-your-knees mowing, just a bit long with the deck on a high setting. The batteries still had life in them, but the motor quit. End of story.

It’s the little mower that could! Mowed over an acre of 12 inch high grass on a hill with a ditch! Batteries last a good 45 minutes—even in wet torturous condition! And it’s super light! You can push it all day! Dad nicknamed it Mighty Mouse!

I also had the push version of this and it had all sorts of problems. This unit runs fine for me, but does drain the battery a lot more than the push and that's with not having used the self-propelled feature. This lawnmower can get about 60% of life compared to the push. It's plenty powerful, and I like the wide blade, but it doesn't seem to cut as well as my Ryobi push from yester-year. I find myself having to go over spots more on this machine than the Ryobi. Same for the push version of the DeWalt.

                                Bad Batteries
I bought this mower around April and a little over 3 months, one of the batteries went dead. This seemed to be a common problem based on replacement battery reviews. The mower itself when working was okay. It would turn off quite a few times when cutting. The bag seemed in a weird angle that the grass would fall out even with cutting a small portion of my yard. I like my other deWalt products, but this one needs some work.

                                  Very weak battery
After cutting only half the backyard, which is not big, the battery started to flash red and the mower stopped moving. So I took the 2 pack battery to charge again for at least 3 hours and started to mower the grass on the front yard, Again, after about 15 minutes, the battery ran out Te manufacturer claims the battery of this model lasts up to 60 minutes on the outside of the packing box. But each time it only lasted for about 15 minutes. Very disappointed

This mower was great for about a month, but then the battery life got less and less until it could not go for more than 20 minutes. So I replaced the batteries and the brand new batteries also died in 20 minutes. What a shame.

I am returning this lower today after using it twice. It’s junk. I have a third acre and it won’t mow the entire thing. Someone told me not to use the self propel feature. Why would I do that ? That’s one of the reasons I bought it. Good thing Dewalt has the no questions asked return. I bought a gas Honda self propelled model that will probably last me the red of my life and it cost less. Buyer beware.

I bought dewalt thinking, great! Im getting a piece of quality machinery that will last for a while and do a great job. Well, sadly enough, this mower only lasted two weeks. After the second use, the mower quit working and nothing would get it restarted (and yes, i checked the batteries and the cutoff switch). Bottom line. I replaced it with the nonpropelled version so lets hope this one works better

This lawnmower pull handle hits the handle creating pressure on the brittle yellow plastic. Putting pressure and breaking the plastic. I bought 5 of these units and everyone of them is broke in the same place with 5 different people using the machine. I looked to get parts to fix them and it’s out of stock. That’s telling me it’s a known problem that should be recalled. Both side are lifting. Notice the pull hand it’s the bar and does not rest flat to the handle. The nine self propelled is a lot better than the self propelled

Battery failure led to a return
The 10ah batteries that these mowers come with seem to have a problem. One of mine failed, and after waiting a month for a replacement, I was told that Dewalt has none in stock at any service center in the country. They could not tell me when I could expect a replacement battery, due to a backorder and also due to other customers being ahead of me on the wait list. I ended up returning the mower and buying a gas mower again. The headaches from this mower made me rethink having a cordless mower.

Mediocre mower and Defective battery management
I wanted to love this mower. At first it seemed to work surprisingly well. My fiance really wanted electric, so I decided to give it a shot. DeWalt has worked well for other tools I've purchased. Long story short, mower is mediocre and ended up being faulty. The good: When hitting rougher area, it automatically ramps up and cuts well. For areas it is at lower speed, it cuts mostly well. There are few stranglers here and there but not that big of a deal. The self-propelled speed is not bad. It was really nice using an electric mower. No gas, no oil. The components seem to be good quality. The bad: Cutting my yard at the highest height once a week, it doesn't mulch properly. It gets really clogged up, so I put the side blower on. Yet it STILL doesn't get enough airflow so it gets gunked up with a lot of grass sticking to the inside deck. I have to turn the whole lawnmower sideways two or three times each mow to scoop out the gunky, wet grass. Yuck! To check the battery levels, you have to remove them from the unit and press the button on the battery. The battery read on the lawnmower only flashes red moments before the lawnmower dies, which makes it useless. It also comes with slow battery chargers. All of this I could live with, but it's definitely not the quality I'm used to with DeWalt products. It's mediocre. But what is forcing me to to have to return the mower is that less than 2 months after purchase, it started dying after less than 10 minutes of operation from full charge, fresh off the charger. Looking at the battery levels after it dies, one battery shows as fully discharged and the other at 75% or higher. I first thought maybe I just had the bad luck to have a faulty battery. I tried charging the battery and the charger simply wouldn't charge it, indicating the battery was full. I had to manually remove it and replace it a few times before it would start charging. So I put a piece of tape to mark this battery. Next time around, after everything should have been at full charge a few days later, I tried mowing my lawn again. The mower died in less than 10 minutes AGAIN. But this time around, the OTHER battery shows as fully discharged and the other nearly full. After waiting for the battery to cool down, the same thing happened. The charger indicated the discharged battery was fully charged and refused to charge it. Very strange! There seems to be problems with how the mower is pulling charge from the batteries. It pulls a LOT more from 1 battery than the other. Then the cheap battery chargers don't seem to be able to accurately guage the power and will frequently just not charge the battery. At this rate, it would take me 4 or 5 charges to mow my normal size yard. So either the chargers are defective, the batteries are defective, the lawnmower is defective, or all three are defective. Either way, I am rather disappointed with this product and I would have expected more from a DeWalt product. Now I have to return this mower with a half mown lawn.

I got this mower in the spring and waited until September to review. I really hoped this would be a good mower, but it’s not. It switches automatically between low and high rpm modes depending on the load. The problem is that it stays in low mode, which is too slow, most of the time, and needs to be in high in order to cut well. I wish I could just hack it to stay in high the whole time. It doesn’t bag very well, mainly because in low mode the blade lacks the speed to ouch the grass into the bagger. The wheels also seem to suck out too far which means there is a gap along any landscaping which doesn’t get cut. The battery life is good, I’ve got a medium size lawn and it lasts mowing the entire thing.

                                                          Gool Alternative to Gas Mowers
I bought this just a week ago. Some assembly, but took very little time & not complicated at all. Great little workhorse. Easy start, mowed my very thick, rolling hills lawn for over 1/2 hour and the batteries were still charged. The self propel is a little weak, mostly intended for flat areas, but still worked & not bad to handle due to its relatively light weight. Word of caution; make sure the batteries are fully charged. I read some of the reviews with people claiming they cut their lawn with the charge that was provided right out of the box, and I would say that is a recipe for frustration. I tried that and it was aggravating, because it ran for about 5 mins. Also, be sure that the receptacle you are using grabs onto the charger plug prongs nice and snug or you will get a false full charge reading. Long story short, I do like this as an alternative to gas powered mowers. It has plenty of gusto, you don't need gas, spark plugs, and NO STINK! My only complaint is the condition of the box when it arrived.
