I've used this chainsaw less than ten times. The bar chain oil stopped flowing. After some internet searches and youtube videos it appears the oil pump is inferior and is is a frequent problem. Not sure if it is worth it to find have it repaired. I would not recommend this chainsaw for purchase.

I only used it once. I put it away for about 9 month pulled it out and the 60v battery as dead and wouldn’t charge. Should have gone oh the 20v.

I expected much more from the Dewalt brand. The body of the chainsaw is poorly made and uses cheap materials. The plastic housing got worn down within hours of use, and now the chain falls off just about every time I use it. I didn't listen to the other negative reviews before I bought this. Don't make the same mistake I did - don't waste your time or money on this tool.

I am a contractor and I own 7 STIHL gas chainsaws. We constantly do demo and tear things apart so we put chainsaws to good use but this chainsaw is pretty much worthless as it leaks oil. It doesn’t leak from the cap like everybody complains about that’s an easy fix. It actually leaks from the inside . This is one of the worst designs I’ve ever seen Dewalt build. I have $15,000 worth of their cordless tools and they all work great but this should just be removed from their product line. Also, on the other reviews where people said, just drain the oil when you’re not using it is insane as nobody has time/ability to pour oil in/out a machine only when they use it.

Another find DeWalt product. Think I may get the 12” as wel for small branch trimming.

No problems. Works great, delivered on time. I was glad to find the one with the 3Ah battery because these are not available in the HD stores.

I love the saw but like most DC motors with a controller a quick dead stop under or spinning up to full power with a sudden stop will overload and burnout the controller leaving you with a dead pile of junk that cannot be easily or cheaply fixed. This is common issue when cutting wood with chainsaws. So if you need it longer than the return or warranty period. I would prefer not to have a repeat costly experience.

It cut great out of the box but the only chain that came with it - on it out of the box - was as soft as butter. Was not able to take down one large redbud tree. By the time I got to the stump, it would not cut. Since there was no spare chain, I already have to buy and replace!

Battery power only lasted 5 minutes after using on and off for a week. I would charge overnight and then try to cut some wood and I would only be able to cut for a few minutes before it died. Not impressed with battery life

Love it for camping and around the house

Drill was super lightweight. Chain kept coming off (but the manual did mention that would happen ok the first few uses) also, it definitely leaks oil, so make sure to dump it after use or you will have a major oil spill on your hands. Otherwise works great.

Cuts as well as my gas saw. Used it for a few minutes to test and then left on work bench. Returned later and found a lot of oil under it. It was leaking from the fill plug and upon close inspection I found there was an O ring apparently missing from the plug. I installed one and no more leak.

Living back in the woods often means having to clear the driveway and even the county road after a wind or ice storm. No mixing gas out there in the freezing rain. If it has chain oil just pull the trigger. 2 9ah batteries will cut firewood to fill a short bed Ford. As for complaints: the battery box gets a lot of debris in it. Not a problem to just blow out with air but in the woods you will have to get a twig and clean it out. This is not a lumberjack saw but a great weekend wood cutter.

Returned wouldn't work. Checked battery good, malfunction within the saw, didn't work.

Worked great mostly (2/3) full battery charge after cutting a medium sized tree to 3ft pieces.

Works well. Little disappointed in the life of the battery but in fairness I had a big tree go down in a storm. Too big for a battery powered saw.

Power full and efficient to use. It did not take much to cut the dying bush. Starting was so bad that it’s old one I has and hurted my shoulder. I itch this battery powered chainsaw, I can do anything.
