Impractical and Useless.
I love Diablo products, but this isn't one of them. Sounded good as a concept, but the edges don't hold up. Going back for paper.

    Wear out fast. Don’t buy
These don’t last at all. Begin to wrinkle on edges quickly. These cost much more than standard discs and wear worse.

      Good Idea, Poor Executions
This should be a great product but it ends up falling flat & is more hassle than its worth. -The mesh sanding disks do not have the cutouts found on paper disks, it impossible to center them perfectly on the performance pad. -The disks should be exactly the same size as the pad, it would be easier to center the disk & the edges would last longer. -The disks are too floppy & fold over unlike paper disks. They should be stiffer. They fray too quickly & wear out the performance pad underneath.

Might as well attach cash to your sander
Bought today and used on a wood dresser that the wife wanted repainted. “10X Longer Life”? Well I’d hate to see what their regular ones do. Each disc lasted about 10 minutes before falling apart. I had some Shop Smith ones before that I used to use and never had this problem. Going back to those!

Results from sanding power boat 6" wide teak cap rails
For comparison, I used ten 80-Grit SandNet Discs, with applicator pad, and ten standard 8 hole Diablo 80-grit discs. Results: (1) 80-Grit SandNet Discs held up well physically, but did not retain a sharp grit anywhere near the "10X longer life" as claimed. (2) the SandNet Discs pull dust well thru the applicator pad. But the original 8-hole discs do well also, the new "universal hole" discs are inconvenient and seem not to suck as well. (3) The SandNet applicator pad is an additional piece to deal with so complicates the work process. (4) Bottom line: I will continue to use the original 8 hole discs. The overall sanding project goes faster and is more efficient.

Performs poorly and falls apart quickly.
I got some of these to use on a rabbit hutch I built that was comprised of 2× douglas fir, plywood, and spots of Bondo. The pad was worn smooth after 5 minutes on my old, Ryobi ROD sander. Check out the photo. The light parts are smooth and soft. Also, because of the soft backer pad, they are terrible at eliminating high points. The raised area just pushes into the foam backer. Also the 80 grit pads perform more like 180 or 220 grit paper discs, which I assume is also because of the soft pad. I'm extremely disappointed in this product; however, it does allow the vacuum to suck up the dust better than the paper discs do. And for the first 2 minutes, it performed well. Also, it would probably be better on uniform, even surfaces (like their ads show).

Perhaps this product would have done better if the surface were completely flat, or didn't have any roughness to the surface finish. The grit in the sand net came off throughout the applicator and the edges frayed far faster than the well backed traditional sandpaper that came with the sanding tool. The photo taken was after 8-10 minutes of sanding a rail on a deck. The wood itself was ok, but the paint I was trying to remove was peeling, which should not have damaged the sand net. The sand net in this photo was 80 grit and I returned the 120 grit pack due to poor performance of the more abrasive 80 grit. You can see the darker spots where the grit remains and the lighter areas are just fabric. The edges are frayed as a result of trying to smooth out the surface of the wood and make it a more rounded edge. The deck rail was routed with a mostly rounded edge, but did have a bit of an edge to it that I was trying to remove, and this was not handled well by the sand net.

I sanded a 10 ft long, 12 in round well seasoned aspen log that we cut on our ranch. The bark was already removed by age. Less dust produced compared to standard discs. This disc system is unreal. How many discs did I use? One Enough said.

Want to start by saying I've used Diablo 'traditional' sanding discs for a few years now, and love how they've performed. These, however, fell apart within a few minutes. Used with the included attachment pad on a brand new Bosch vari-speed, tried to sand a worn (not a sharp or very coarse surface, just peeling solid stain). Unlike what the packaging says, these lasted 10x LESS than regular discs. I hope Home Depot will let me return these!

I am currently doing a whole house DIY renovation which has seen me go through dozens of sheets of sandpaper. I have been using a Makita Palm Sander which I have had for about 7 years, and which to this day is a fantastic sander, using 1/4 sheets. The only sandpaper that I use is Emery Cloth paper which has an extremely tough and durable cloth back. All other sandpapers wear out and load up far too quickly, even the best, such as Diablo. It is frustrating that papers simply don't stand up to the task, mostly by tearing before they even wear out or load up. The big box stores (H.D. etc) don't even carry Emery cloth anymore. I have to go to the hardware store that is one of the suits in a deck of cards, to find it. This type of paper is usually labeled for sanding metal. So you have to search diligently for that variety. Which brings me to this Sandnet disc. Since I am now doing the outside of my house to prep for paint, I have a lot of peeling paint areas on my smooth lap siding, which need to be sanded smooth before I prime and paint. I decided that my palm sander was not the right tool to use for these larger areas because it would take to long, so I purchased a Makita 5" random orbital sander, which I have found to be an excellent choice, after researching every major brand on the market. The Makita stood out, with the large majority of 4 and 5 Star reviews. And when choosing the discs that I needed, I stumbled upon this Diable variation, called Sandnet. After watching a YouTube demo created by Diable, I took the plunge. I just finished the south side of my home's siding, first scraping loose paint and then hitting it with the new Makita, using the Diable Sandnet paper discs. WOW, WOW, WOW. Cut through like smoothing with a butter knife, down to a fingertip touch smooth. Then laid down a layer of primer and can hardly tell where the previous peeling paint buildup was. And the beauty is that this paper just went and went and went, without loading up and had plenty of bite to sand down a lot of square footage. I would have easily gone through at least a half dozen Diable 80 grit normal discs. But with the 80 grit Sandnet, I didn't have to stop and swap one time. I am thoroughly impressed with this product and will NEVER use regular sandpaper with the new Makita ROS. And here is what was even more surprising. Since the Sandnet is an open mesh, the Makita sucked every bit of siding dust (fiber board) into the dust bag on the Makita, like I had a super suction vacuum hooked up to the sander. I have never been able to fill my palm sander dust bag to the fully packed state that this paper was able to allow the new orbital sander to collect. I was not paying much attention to the bag at first, and at one point I felt the bag to see how it was doing and it was so packed that I felt like I was compressing a chunk of hard foam. That thing was absolutely packed beyond being full. I ended up emptying that bag 3 times during the 20 foot run of sanding from the ground up to about 5 feet high. And the sanded areas comprised only about the lower 10-15% of each layer or run of siding board. So the Sandnet knocked it down without hesitation and sent all of the sanding debris through its open screen design, and right through the holes in the base pad and into the dust bag. Diable, PLEASE, PLEASE create and introduce this fantastic paper in a format which we can use on 1/4 sheet and 1/2 sheet sanders. Besides its phenomenal durability in not tearing and lasting way beyond your normal excellent paper, it is the better mouse trap for allowing for superior dust collection.

Purchased the Diablo adhesive pads, garbage, would not stay on sander for more than 2 minutes, then useless. Bought this to convert the Bosch sander to hook and loop. Off and running right away, no problems, simple attach and go, great system to adopt away from those inferior adhesive pads. Thoroughly recommend this item. Only problem now is the rate these pads cut through the job and the dust generated. Need to get a vacuum filter system now to catch the sudden increase in air pollution, but I am not going to complain about that the job is getting done quick time now. Shug

Disaster, I have no idea what anyone who rated this thing more than one star used it for. In my case, weathered, good condition redwood 2x6 deck railing that had been previously cleaned with wood cleaner. I just wanted to smooth out the surface. One 80 grit pad was fully consumed by my Bosch 5" orbital sander in about 10 linear feet. These things are terrible. See attached two picture. Shows what's left of the first pad, the second one still on the sander. Both completely destroyed.

These sanding discs do not have an adhesive back. My sander requires the disc to have PSA, pressure sensitive adhesive, so they won't work on my sander disc pad. I received this item as a free product to use, test, and rate. I did not realize they were not PSA discs. Unfortunately I cannot give a fair review of this product due to this issue. But I did inspect the discs, felt the texture, and quality of materials used to produce the sanding disc. They seem to be of very good quality, good grit, sturdy, made well. I would recommend these discs to anyone with the type of sander that uses this type of disc.

SandNet is far better than the conventional sand"paper". The "net" design allows the sanded material to pass through into the sanders vacuum system (for sanders that have vacuum holes in the sanding pad). This feature alone helps the sanding but should the SandNet "load-up" it can be washed - something I can't do with my conventional sandpaper. The kits includes everything to convert a hook-loop sander to the SandNet. There is an intermediate pad that goes between the sander hook-loop and the SandNet disc. This applicator allows the sanded material to pass through the sanding disc versus load it up. The applicator is hook-loop as well so it just sets on the sanders hook-loop pad then apply the disc to the applicator hook-loop. The disc is a screen like material that contains the sanding grit. The screen sands the material and the sanding dust just passes right through. Better sanding is less time!

Doesn't last longer than traditional sandpaper
These promised to last 10x longer than traditional sandpaper. In my experience, their life was half the life of traditional sandpaper and when the product failed it left shreds all over the job site. I have great luck with traditional Diablo paper sanding pads - I'd suggest those over this. Traditional pads have longer life, less cost, less mess.
