I purchased this deadbolt not knowing what a double cylinder meant! That said, the deadbolt is excellent quality and if you're looking for a deadbolt with key locks on both sides I would definitely recommend this one. It is beautiful and sturdy and looks like it will hold up to weather. I ended up just installing it on my basement storm door, which had a hole for a round deadbolt so it doesn't look great but it's functional and I can leave the key in on the inside to use as a thumb bolt to lock and unlock the door. Overall, I consider this a quality product.

I had to replace a well used deadbolt (made it almost 15 years) on my 9 lite garage entry door. I could not find the same model but found this one that is very similar. It came well packaged with everything included for installation and 2 keys. FYI, this is a double cylinder deadbolt (keyed on each side). Defiant also offers single cylinder deadbolts (keyed on one side, knob on other side). Since I was replacing an existing deadbolt, my door already had the holes required for installation. If your door is not prepped for a deadbolt, the instructions include the template for the holes, but you will need a drill motor, 2 1/8” hole saw and a 1” hole saw designed to cut the door material. The Depot does sell a jig designed for this purpose and is inexpensive and very easy to use. My installation took about 15 minutes and I only needed some common hand tools. The deadbolt works flawlessly and looks great. I’m very happy with the deadbolt. It does have a limited lifetime warranty that applies to the original purchaser. Nice product!

my first experience replacing a deadbolt........im kind of a rookie at some home projects, this being one of the.....so I am not going to review it based on my lack of knowledge. It showed up in great condition....but with lots of parts...I havent gotten around to intsalling it yet but it appears to be really well made and the color of it will match my existing door hardware just fine.

This Defiant branded double cylinder deadbolt has one of the nicest finishes available and it would be a shame NOT to use this lock in a interior setting which will prolong the finish longer than installing it on the exterior door. Everything is supplied with this double cylinder deadbolt leaving just a quick trip to the locksmith to cut additional keys for additional family members. The good news is Home Depot also provides key cutting services! Lock action on this deadbolt is silky smooth so minimal lubrication is required during installation. This deadbolt lock is adjustable for both 2-1/2 inch or 2-3/4 inch backsets which makes this lock ideal for failed lock replacement or new door lock installs. Be advised I would only install this in a interior door setting because dishonest burglars can and will easily clamp down on the decorative polished chrome rosettes with channel lock pliers when they attempt to gain access.

Gives a nice elegant look to my door. Used it for an interior door in the foyer.

I loved it but when I got it, it was wrong color. Returned it and bought another Defiant Deadbolt Set.

the back plate is smaller than competitors so measure carefully. Otherwise a quality product!

I decided to change the lock into a hall closet because I started keeping a couple of my pricier tools in it. This probably isn't my first choice for the job, but because I had no fears of being locked in, it was not sufficient to dissuade me. The old non-locking doorknob came off in a blazing display of speed, thanks to my Ridgid 12V palm impact driver. The new one went into place very smoothly. I had no trouble engaging the screws and snugging them up. The function was normal following instlalation. If this thing looks good and works well after 12 months, then it certainly deserves 5 stars.
