Do not buy an aftermarket Delta Shower cartridge, none of them will work. This orignial shower and tub cartridge works perfect with Delta Monitor shower.

Terrible cartridge!

Twice in the span of 5 years, I have a leaky shower and for the same reason. There are two rubber check valves on the inner end of the cartridge (the white part). In both instances where I had a leaky faucet, either one or both check valves failed. There is no way to replace them (at least not that I found). So, this little check valve failure requires to replace the entire cartridge. That seems to be the weakest point of the design and this product in general.

Purchased one of these to repair a leaking cartridge that was about a year old. Unfortunately, the new one leaked after 6-9 months. I discovered the seats and springs could be replaced and, after doing that, the leak is gone. This replacement cartridge was straightforward and easy to replace, but it's an expensive replacement, especially to have it leak again so soon. Save 90% of the cost and purchase a seat/spring replacement kit to repair your leak instead.
