This kit does a great job in providing a new appearance to older tub tiling. I would recommend at least 4 tubes of adhesive recommended. I scored the old tiles behind where the surround would be placed. This worked out very well. New appearance is excellent. Read instructions carefully.

Was surprised at the strip in the middle of the wall, did not show on photos. Plugs covering screws tend to pop off. However, for the price, it is nice, bright white, and clean, with a bit of a design in it.

Surround is very easy to install but after 3 different types of adhesive to get it to stick to the wall I have given up. Because of the printed design it the surround (one of what I thought was a good selling point) I have decided it was a mistake and should have gone with a surround with no design so that it would attach to the wall better.

Once all the seams were caulked, I was in love with this surround. Make sure you get a pure white tub. It looks much better when they are both the same color white. Didn't seem to give my handyman any trouble.

Just finished and this was fairly easy to install. Some directions could be better and in better sequence. Not quite the thickness of material that would be expected for the money. Time will tell how it holds up.

Wall anchors could of been if better quality. Also when putting in the corner pieces there is nothing for the anchors to grab onto due to how the dry wall lines up in the corners.

    Looks nice, good quality
We didn't want a lot of prefab shelves to catch water and get dirty, so this was perfect for us. I thought I was ordering one to go on studs, turns out this one need a walls. So far meets our expectations.

I returned this item - it was really bad - cheaply made, and it looked like someone may have returned it previously because one of the pieces appeared to have been cut on the bottom edge. I would recommend Home Depot stops stocking this item - please! On top of all that this item was way overpriced.

I am a remodeling contractor. I usually don't do reviews but this one deserves comment. The wall surround went up similar to others with glue, however the inside corner pieces are screwed to hold the adjacent panels in place. They provide molly's but they will not grab in the drywall at that angle. the screw only works if you can hit the corner stud, which in one corner I couldn't. I had to glue the corner in place with LOTS of glue and brace it while it dried. The corners are the most important part of a surround like this and I think it will eventually leak there. As a contractor I like to be able to guarantee my work, I wont guarantee this one more than 2 years.

Thank you for your feedback. When the QWALL-TUB is installed per the instructions and caulked correctly there should not be any reason for it to leak. DreamLine does place our Customer Support department phone number on the front of the manuals. We have experienced technicians on hand to handle any questions or issues the customer or installer may have regarding our products. We hope that you took advantage of this and called in for help. Thank you for your feedback and for choosing DreamLine. bathauthority

This bath surround was packaged very well. Instructions were clear and it was very easy to install. I would rate this as a superior product. One minor quibble: mounting the shelves with the screws and wall anchors only works if you first do something like "super glue" the anchors to the surround--otherwise they can be pushed through easily.

      Tub Surround
The product was put up by my husband and me. It was fairly easy to put up but I strained my neck getting in and around the braces. I would never ever use the enclosed glass shelving!

Thank you for your review! So sorry to hear that you stained your neck during installation! The glass shelving is not required to be installed for this unit, but is included because most people like that feature. bathauthority

        Good surround looks nice
Installed OK but requires attention to the included directions as some parts are tricky and must be cut fairly close. That would include where the end and side panels fit into the moulding between them. These moldings have recesses for the panel to fit in which provide water tightness and so the panel needs to slide in as well as possible. So cutting panels to length is critical. The hole for the spout and control likewise need to be correct of course. Note: Be careful to make sure that the spout is clear of the panels lower horizontal raised decorative ridge. That means that the lower edge of your spout where it fits against the surround panel needs to be 6 inches or so higher than the tub. Measure to be sure. Same goes for the upper shower head pipe if it happens to be located over the upper part of the end panel and you need to be careful of that horizontal raised decorative ridge up there also. The only real criticism I have is that the panels don't glue very easily to the backer even with *lots* of excellent and correct for this application type adhesive. We used a good backer ("Hardiboard"), and still didn't get the decorative center portions to stick well. We finally wound up taping panels in place as much as possible to hold them while the adhesive dries but the best way would be to use adjustable pole jack/clamps (which I didn't have). to keep pressure on the panels in some way until the adhesive dries. Not terribly difficult to install but needs a little care plus measure twice cut once thinking. That said, the surround looks classy and nice when done.

Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, we reached out to the manufacturer and their reply is, "DreamLine does recommend using Liquid Nails 715 for Tub Surrounds and Shower Walls, or 915 for Tub Surrounds. Please refer to the directions on the package for proper adhesive application. Do not apply LN-915 when surface or adhesive temperature exceeds 90°F. Cut nozzle at 45° angle to a 1/8" bead size. Puncture inner seal with nail or wire. Apply in a continuous 1/8" bead, following the tub surround manufacturer’s instructions. Some tub surround manufacturers require adhesive bead to be spread out with a trowel. Consult tub surround installation instructions for specific recommendations. It is important for proper installation that each panel be vented according to the following directions. Venting method: Apply LN-915 adhesive and press panel firmly to wall, then pull away. Wait 3-5 minutes, then press panel firmly back into place. For proper adhesion, after 20-30 minutes go around entire tub surround and press firmly over all flat surfaces. If any edges lift up, tape them to the wall with masking tape until adhesive dries. Let cure 24 hours. DreamLine’s experienced Customer Support Department is available to address any issues you may be having with your purchase. Customers are welcome to call in prior to their purchase, during the installation, and after the unit is installed to have questions answered and directions clarified. Please contact the DreamLine Customer Support Line at 866-731-2244 or send an email to support@bathauthority.com. We are available M-F, 8am-7pm EST.

        Flimsy
This is a flimsy product with too many seams. For the price, we are extremely dissatisfied with the wall system. Due to a time crunch, we installed but with regrets. We will replace it down the road.

Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, Our QWall kits are designed to be installed over drywall or tile and not directly to the studs, therefore the 1/8" thickness is adequate for this application. We use quality materials to make our wall kits and trim pieces and stand behind all of our products. The design of our product is to match the industry standard to keep costs at a reasonable level for competitiveness, and is consistent with most manufacturers’ products on the market today. Our Support Department is available to answer any questions you may have prior to or after your purchase, assist with installation or offer technical or warranty information. Decent Product
Bought it on sale so saved a little, but think it is overpriced for what it is. Time will tell if it holds up but as of now looks good and seems like a good product. I think they could have made and provided better edge molding, the 2 strips they provide are too thin and in my opinion not enough edge or width to cover and stay well enough.after careful placement the inner edge has come away from the panel and can not reposition without removing and it removing the paint with it.would have to scrape it clean and put some kind of adhesive to reattach it.For the cost should have provided better finish molding. And would reccomend using more adhesive on panels than what is shown on directions, areas without adhesive move in and out when touched or wiping down unit.

Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, Our Q-Wall kits are designed to be installed over drywall or tile, not directly to the studs. Therefore, the 3/32" thickness is adequate for this application. It sounds like you trimmed the panels too far and they are too small for your installation situation. When trimmed and installed properly, the panels will cover the space of the tub area without any issues. DreamLine uses quality materials to make our wall kits and trim pieces and we stand behind all of our products. Our Support Department is available to answer any questions you may have prior to or after your purchase, assist with installation or offer technical information. Poor design.
I am a plumber with 30 yrs of experience. This surround looks great installed but has design flaws. The protruding "ribs" make it hard to glue to any surface, I used new greenboard for the backing. There are too many seams which could lead to leaks down the road. Also for the diy the kit came with no instructions or warranty info, which is always a bad sign.

Dear Valued Home Depot Custer, Dreamline QWall surrounds have been designed with the consumer in mind for ease of transporting, installing and to custom fit to their particular application. When properly installed and caulked there will be no concern of any leakage. Although this surround does have a pattern to it there is more than enough flat surface area to adhere to any substrate. Using new green board, and the proper adhesive should make this installation very easy indeed. Of course you want make sure that the adhesive that you use is compatible with our acrylic surrounds and that it will adhere to your substrate properly. All of our doors, bases and surrounds do come with a warranty and also include installation instructions. If you did not receive or have misplaced the installation instructions, you can download and print them from the product page or contact our Support Department. WE can also be reached with any technical or installation questions, as well as warranty issues at 1-866-731-2244 or support@bathauthority.com.

Dear Valued HomeDepot Customer, We reached out to the MFG for more information and below is their response. "The wall anchors provided with your purchase are for a typical installation, but, depending on your wall treatment/materials, may be substituted, provided that they will not interfere with the proper installation of the product. The decorative covers are a plug that fits into the screw holes on the wall cover strips. If you had to modify these decorative plugs so they would work for you, perhaps you used a type of wall anchor that is not compatible with our wall kit, in so much as the shoulder on the anchor prevents it from finishing flush to the wall. Please contact our support department if you require any assistance at support@bathauthority.com or call us at 866-731-2244, we will be glad to address any technical or installation questions."
