Exceptional fan!
I would give this fan a 5 star rating if the remote was more user friendly. The fan itself is wonderful. Its quiet and soothing. I use it 365 days per year. I'm not happy with the micro remote control. It's very small and the button functions are flush, so you must look at it in order to use it. Unfortunately, it's really not user friendly for blind people.

    Didn’t cool Much at all..
    It might be great for air purifying, but not for cooling when it matters. On any day I have to turn the setting to 10 (the highest setting) to notice any kind of difference. Anything less than 7, I don’t notice unless Im sitting/standing right in front of it. The best things about it; looks nice, quieter than most fans, kids won’t get hurt sticking their hands or other things through the opening. it is ok just for minor cooling on a less than 80 degree day, but when the heat really bumps, this is way overpriced and only blows the hot air around like other mediocre fans.

      I expected a cooler fan
      I am 8 months pregnant and thought this would be a good investment for me and baby. So far, I have noticed the fan does not cool my tiny room. I would expect better for the price. I will test it out tonight to see if the air quality is improved. My home is very old and gathers dust quickly. I really need something that will help me survive these hot, dry summers.

Dyson Pure Cool features a HEPA filter to remove 99.97% of allergens and pollutants as small as 0.3 microns, including pollen, dust, mold spores, bacteria and pet dander. The second layer in the filter contains activated carbon to capture household odors and volatile organic compounds like paint fumes. The machine also features a sleep timer, oscillation and 10 air speed settings.   Our Purifiers & fans do not have Freon, so they are not an air conditioner, but it does work better than standard fans. Dyson fans use Air Multiplier technology to create a powerful stream of uninterrupted airflow. Air is accelerated through an annular aperture, creating a high-velocity jet of air. This passes over an air foil-shaped ramp, channeling its direction and creating areas of low pressure behind and around the fan.         I bought this two weeks ago, was hoping for a quiet and good cooling , fail on everything! this unit is laud and not cooling as I expected ,definitely not worth the money!! I have Dyson hairdryer and love it ,but this fan is not what I expected at all ! ! Very disappointed !

          Great for families with little ones!
          We have had this fan for over a year now and absolutely love it! We run it almost 24/7 all summer and with regular filter changes it has given us 0 problems. It’s also FANTASTIC for families with mobile little kids, we have a mobile baby and toddler and with the design we do not worry about fingers or hair getting hurt. Would buy again.

            Dyson Pure Cool™ TP01 purifying fan
            DO NOT BUY IF YOU DON’T WANT ANY HASSLE IN YOUR LIFE. Bought this fan 05/26 with high expectations because it’s summer and thought about having something that will purify and cool the air at the same time. First week of having it, we noticed that it does not really cool the air that much even at max, but still wanted to give it a shot for the purifying part. I would wake up with heavy tightness in my chest on the first week. It got worse 06/09 that I had to go to the ER due to tightness on my chest. Went back to the ER on 06/13 due to same complaints and doctor was asking what changed the past few weeks in our home that has caused me to go back to the ER with the same reason. I only thought about this fan that we have been consistently using the past few weeks before the incidents. Fast forward, we stopped using the fan and everything went back to normal. No more chest tightness. My husband’s dry skin and itching went away too. We returned the fan, but was terribly disappointed of the inconvenience that it has caused to my little family. Talked to Dyson and was told that someone will get back to me within 24 hours, but no one really reached back. I had to follow up for an update. They keep claiming that their products don’t release any harmful substances and implying that our home has molds/bacteria. We just had our home inspected for molds 6 months ago and was not having any sensitivity before we purchased this fan and we have a clean home. And the reason why I purchased the fan is that it was claimed to purify the air, but did the opposite to us.

              I have had this type of fan for 10 years.
              I bought this fan when it was pretty much the only being made by Dyson and I have loved it since the first day I received it. I can honestly say I don't know how this fan can get a bad review. It creates more air flow than any fan I have ever used. It does a double job of purifying!!!

                Another outstanding Dyson product
                I own a total of 9 Dyson products, anywhere from hair care to air purification and heating plus floor care and I have had only ONE problem with with one of said products (V11 torque drive) the battery; it was kaput in six months. Dyson warrantied the entire cleaner head without question. Every other device I have has performed flawlessly. Now, I will mention the caveat, I METICULOUSLY clean and replace (not wash) filters regularly (on floor care products). Air care and my wife's hair care products I clean monthly with light compressed air and replace filters BEFORE the scheduled time. It's expensive I KNOW, but these are high performance machines that must be serviced often to guarantee optimal strength, durability and output. Machines are made by man and are inherently going to fail; do yourself a favor and ensure the products you purchase last a long time by due diligence of maintenance.

                    Major sound issue
                    I’ve loved Dyson products as I have terrible asthma & allergies (and many of their vacuum and air cleaner products are AAFA certified). But I should have listened to previous reviews about the high-pitch sound. I think I figured maybe some people were overly sensitive and want a silent fan. I like to sleep with white noise so I didn’t care about sound, or so I thought… I’ve had this unit for a few months and over time it’s gotten more clearly squeaky (or maybe I can’t ignore it as well over time). It only reads at around 56db (compared to 32db when off at night in bed) but db doesn’t account for the frequency (how low or high-pitched). It seems when they tested the unit they just have technology measuring the db and other stats but no humans spent time around the machine to listen to the maddening screech (do they not use their own products in office?) The sound of the screech changes slightly when I turn the fan speed up or down but sadly even at max the fan sound can’t drown out the screech and at lowest it still is obnoxious and constant. When I turn off and on again for a minute or two it sometimes will be without the high pitch sound but It’ll start right back up again. I recommend only getting this product if you do NOT intend to be around it when on. Otherwise I do not recommend, it honestly is a horrible pitch to listen to. And even if you think you can you aren’t bothered by high pitch sounds, think of your pets if you have them, with their extra sensitive hearing. While other aspects of the fan (remote, speed, quality of filtering, etc) are decent for me, they don’t outweigh the sound issue. It’s so disappointing that I got this product to use in my bedroom to help manage my asthma and allergies when I sleep but I can’t turn it on because it keeps me from being able to fall asleep.

                      Over priced, loud, useless
                      I had pretty high expectations, especially for the price. This fan has levels of 1-10. Beyond 5 it is extremely loud and has a bit of a whistle to it. And what's worse, it hardly moves any air. Guys, look at the fan. This is not some modern marvel of engineering (like other Dyson products). It's basically a largeish computer fan that sucks air up vertically and pushes it through this oblong, albeit elegantly shaped, hole. It doesn't move much air at all and it certainly isn't quiet.

                        So Weak even on Max Speed
                        Very disappointed with the product. I have Dyson hair drier and am very impressed with the power. This fan is a disappointment. You will feel nothing at speed 1-7. Max speed 10 is not powerful and very loud. Handling the fan is stupid because technically you should not hold the top part (which makes up 70% of the whole fan in length), and there is no handle anywhere. It is a sleek fan but not practical. I live in the hotter part of the US, and it is not helping.

                          Great, until it's not
                          These fans are great for a few weeks or months (if you're lucky). They do a great job a cooling a small to medium sized room and cleaning the air. The biggest issue with these fans are that they start to develop a high pitched buzzing noise that is enough to drive you insane. I bought this for my bedroom to put on while I sleep to keep the air clean and keep the room cooler (we are hot sleepers) but can no longer use it because of the high pitched noise. I actually made a warranty claim and received a new unit. Unfortunately after only about 2 weeks the new unit started to make the high pitched noise as well. This could be a great product but the high pitched noise makes it unusable if you are in the room while it's operating. I can no longer submit a warranty claim so I am stuck with an expensive paperweight. Also, I have both the cool and hot/cool models and both developed the high pitched noise. I did receive replacements for both only to encounter the same issues. This high pitched noise is definitely a design issue on both the HP and TP models since I've encountered it on 4 different units.

                            Even on Big Bang theory Sheldon will tell you fanning warm/hot air makes you hotter. This is not a cooling device it’s just a fan.

                              Not worth it
                              I bought this fan in April hoping it would solve the problem of my old fan collecting dust. And it did! But it does not push air well at all. 10 feet away I cannot feel even a breeze unless it’s at max setting. During which, it sounds very loud. So at night while trying to sleep I’m either too hot or cannot fall asleep due to the noise.

                                Air is so fresh now!
                                I live in NYC, so wanted to make sure the air in my home is clean and fresh. Plus, combat the untold amounts of dust that comes in. It's so much quieter than other fans, and does a great job moving the air around the apartment. Plus, it's so beautiful and sleek. Not heavy at all, so I can move it around easily. So happy with my purchase!! THE REMOTE: this is something I've seen a lot of people mention in their reviews, how it doesn't sit well on top of the fan. Literally just flip it upside down, it's curved perfectly to align with the top of the fan lol

                                    Do people actually read what Dyson says about their products before buying? Reading through the reviews makes me wonder. I was surprised by how well this unit performed. Even my husband who smells *everything* complimented the air quality in the master bedroom where the dog stays. i didn’t get it for the fan function but it blows pretty strong at 10. Is it as strong as my actual floor fan? No. But dyson tells you it’s not a conventional fan. I don’t understand the reviews saying it’s so loud they can’t stand it. It’s ridiculously quiet. It’s so quiet I forget to turn it off. (I know it has a timer.) As far as cooling, it’s not an AC. It circulates air. I’m very happy I finally bought one.
