Excellent saw, plenty of power and it cuts like butter! no more pulling your arm off to get it started, fires up easy.

Great Saw for the money. I bought this saw because a 30 foot eucalyptus tree fell on my house. I was able to cut the tree off my house like butter without it stalling once.I also like how the choke is a pull out and separate from the on and off.

I have a 40v ryobi which is excellent for limbs and smaller trees, but I needed gas power for the large trees on my land. This did an excellent job and is simple to start up. I use the canned pre mix fuel too, and while it is more expensive, the convenience plus maintainence makes it a no brainer.

It came unassembled, so I had to put the chain on and assemble it. I put all the fluids in, followed the directions included, then it wouldn't start. Tried it at least 4 times to start it, but was unsuccessful.

Easy to start and cuts through hard wood very easily.

I’ve had the CS-400 with carrying case for 2 years and it’s been perfect for cutting all kinds of hardwood at our cabin in SW Indiana. Starts right up. I cut and split alot of wood so on Fall and Winter weekends we supplement the heat pump with fires in our large fireplace with blower system. Remember to get your plastic wedges so the saw doesn’t get pinched by large limbs and trunks. Great saw.

Saw runs smooth and starts easily. I've been cutting up a 16" log with ease.Chain adjustment is a simple process. Heavy-duty carrying case has plenty of room for oil, files and other tools . Price was right.Would recommend .

Cut green logs all day right out of the box and it did great. No problem cold starts. I feel like I got a great deal.

Great little saw that is lightweight and powerful enough for most cutting applications.

Great bang for the buck. I cut quite a few trees with this saw and then split them into firewood. The instructions could be a little better. I wish there was a sticker on the saw with the steps on how to start it. However, it starts up quick and doesn't stall. If you forget you will just have to dig through the manual. The case is really nice too.

The saw was easy to assemble, my husband said it cut like butter and worked all day, didn’t give out on him. He was very happy.

The CS-400 Echo chain saw met my expectations, after putting gas in and installing the bar & chain it started on the first try and I was able to immediately get to work on cutting the tree down. It gas plenty of power for a lightweight chain saw, I am 75 and was able to use this saw without any problems. I am glad I ordered it online as it also came with a strong case which is made for this saw, if I would have got it in the store it would have cost $20.00 more and would not have come with the nice case.

2 tanks of gas and it quit running. Brought it back

So far, so good. Started on one pull after prepping and cut well. Case gets the job done for the home owner.

Purchased this saw in January and didn’t have time to use it until today, Opened the box assembled the saw used correct fuel and oil, Saw would not start, Unfortunately Home Depot only returns gas powered tools upto 30 days new or not. Our neighbor had purchased the same exact saw and yesterday he had the same identical problem same result. Called the MFG and they say to take it to a warranty center who take two to 3 weeks to evaluate the problem. I would seriously consider another brand.

Saw lasted 2 weekends of yard work and then would not stay running. Took it to the local authorized service center 7 weeks after I purchased it from Home Depot. The service center has now had it for almost 3 months and still can't tell me whats wrong with it. Would not buy another ECHO product again due to their horrible service.

Saw worked perfectly, no binding, no stalling, easy starting. The case is very sturdy and has ample room for chain oil and tools.

I’ve had several chainsaws over the years and this one should have been the first one as this one has proven to be the only one I ever needed. It consistently proves itself every time …super easy start every time with ease of slicing through thick and thin.

Cut down 4 30-40 hackberry trees. And cut up a 50 foot storm felled oak. The Echo cut thru them like a hot knife through butter. Used 50-1 premixed fuel. Made sure the chain oil was always full. Started up in the first few pulls. Put my Stihl that never started up to shame.

Just ordered this from Home Depot. Got it home and found it to be of really cheap construction, compared to Stihl or Husqvarna chainsaws of comparable price and specs. Feels and looks almost like a child's toy. It doesn't instill a lot of confidence that it's up to the job or even safe to use. I'm returning unused today and am going to buy a Husqvarna for the same price, albeit without the carrying case.

Very nice and cuts fast and powerful!

Starts on 3rd pull every time just like my Echo weed eater that I’ve had for 11 years. It cuts hickory and oak easily
