It was an easy add on to an older ceiling fan that came with the house I just purchased, 10 minutes tops to hardwire it and the back porch now has lighting. The fan I installed this lighting kit on use to be dark brown with ugly brass, but it needed to be updated so I sprayed painted with Rust-Oleums Semi-Gloss White and High Gloss St.Tropez. Now this old fan looks great with the updating it just received - priceless. Thanks Home Depot for having items like this in stock.

I bought this to replace a dish type ceiling fan light to increase the amount of light in the room. It came with little 40w equivalent (5w LED). This gave off no light and was worse than the light I had before. I bought a 60w equivalent bulb (9w LED) and to my surprise it does not allow them to fully light up. When I take one of the 40w equivalent bulbs back in the other 2 60w equivalent light up perfectly. It seems like they have limited the amount of electricity that can go to the lights. I wish companies would stop cheating the products until they don’t even work. I would pay $10 dollars more for a well built one.

Fits the new Casablanca Panama 54" white fan perfectly - including electrical connecters (u have to revere one of the plastic sleeves but its a breeze). a little off in color, but not enough to be noticeable to the casual observer. puts out good light. Casablanca won't tell you this... they want to sell overpriced units that are awful looking.

I'm renting a house, the owners bought lights so be installed as the fan's didn't come with any. Had them installed by an electrician. He said these are the cheapest lights out there. It doesn't even come with a pull string...wait, it actually came with a string to turn the light on & off. That's how cheap these are. It comes with 3 - 5 watt bulbs. In the small print, it says that these light fixture can not handle more than 15 watts total...that is why it comes with 5 watt bulbs! Do not buy!!!!

The light and controls work as advertised

Was as advertised. Fit our existing fan perfectly with only VERY minor wiring changes.

Instructions could have been clearer but with a basic understanding the installation was simple. The pull chain extension provided is literally a string requiring a separate purchase. Product comes with bulbs which is a plus.

This does not produce any light. Bulbs provided were very dim. Replaced with other 40 watt LED bulbs and only 2 would work at a time and still very dim. Also tried incandesent and only 1 would work there.

Perfect for adding overhead lighting in our rental property.

An excellent choice to replace old light on fan, both in bedroom and family room light's broke and this fit perfectly.

This is the perfect ceiling fan kit to upgrade your traditional fan I hightly recomended it

great price. I bought 3 units to replace three separate outdated fan lights. The kit comes with LED lights that are a nice warm (2700-3000k) color. The kit is not 100% plug and play as some fans have 2, 3 or 4 screw holes. this kit has 3, so I ended up having to drill out a couple holes. I would buy this again.

Definately not universal as claims

Took three women about an hour to install. Luckily one is an electrician's assistant. Wouldn't want to have tried this without her expertise. Works well and gives excellent light to the room.
