This project entailed trimming off the rotted bottom of my siding underneath my wall mount swamp cooler, resealing, painting, trimming and caulking everything with silicone to prevent future issues. For looks and durability, I did not want to use wood trim. This flat edge aluminum is perfect. It was easy to trim and pre-drill, took primer and paint well, and adds a very nice, clean, subtle edge to the job. Bring on the heat!

Worked great on my project.
Was easy to cut to size and grind the ends to a round shape. Easy to drill a hole into. Great support for the table.

Lightweight and easy to cut and drill retaining very good rigidity. Needed a bracket for a 320 x 320 VESA television wall-mount. Selected this product for the job and manufactured a perfect bracket needed for the two 2-inch offset machine screws mount-holes for an irreplaceable LG EF9500. The 2015 bracket is no longer manufactured by LG and third-party replacements are around $90 with shipping. The cost for this bracket was less than $11.00 with tax before the design and fabrication time invested. Very sturdy and secure with a standard wall mount.

Easy to work with. I needed to cut, bend, and drill into them to create brackets for barn doors I was making for built-ins and it conformed well to the jig I had made and accepted paint well.

Made a 180° LED light bar
Needed more light for projects, crafting, drawing, modeling etc.. I used this flat bar with some brackets and a 16Ft led strip kit. Bar was very sturdy and holds it shape. I drilled ends and used m5 bolts n nuts to hold together. 8ft was perfect for the 16ft led strip with double row. Used rubbing alcohol to clean flat bar so the strip adhesive would stick really good.

This is a versatile product which you may be able to use in many ways. It is easy to work with it. Cutting it with a fine tooth hack saw is best. I used it to add support to a frame-less shower door top rail since I did not have a stud where it needed to be installed. Using heavy duty drywall anchors to install the top rail (two screws) I felt better installing a piece of this material at each end to increase the amount of support to the top rail using three additional anchors to attach this piece to the wall under the rail

This bar is easy to bend to make the supports I needed. It won't rust and is very light weight. I cut two lengths that I needed, bent them for hanging and riveted them to a piece of wide flashing that I had bent the edges over and filed down the sharp corners. With a small tray made in the flashing, I am able to hang the unit from my steering wheel to use my I-pod, cellphone or other electrical device while waiting in the car. The picture shows how it looks and you can see how easy it is to use.

I got the 1 IN. X 96 IN. ALUMINUM FLAT BAR WITH 1/8 IN. THICK for a small project. The flat bar is true to the stated dimensions and fully within the normal tolerance. While the aluminum bar is easy to cut and drill, it is still strong. The label doesn't state the exact material, but given how easy it is to work with, I assume it's 5052 aluminum. Overall very happy with this aluminum flat bar.

This bar is a convenient size for making small metal parts as well as when a long bar is needed. Aluminum can be easily and cleanly cut with woodworking tools such as a table saw or miter saw. Any rough edges can be filed smooth. When sanded with an orbital sander the metal takes on a semi matte finish, or it can be polished to an almost mirror like appearance.

One of my favorite aisles in The Home Depot is the hardware aisle. Getting to know all the hundreds of items in this aisle can open your eyes to the possibilities for making repairs or taking on new projects. Everbilt has a variety of items including steel and aluminum in an array of shapes and sizes. I ATV a lot and use aluminum flat stock to provide a better mounting surface for the front and rear racks. The 2" wide x 1/8" thick flat bar is ideal to make a strong surface. The aluminum holds paint well, is easy to drill and can be shaped to a degree. I have also used flat bar aluminum to make repairs to broken body parts on an older ATV. Next time you are in The Home Depot, take a few minutes to explore the hardware aisle and get to know the wide variety of Everbilt products.

The aluminum flat bar arrived at my home in a very sturdy cardboard tube and without any damage whatsoever due to the excellent packaging. I was impressed with the care that was taken in preparing the bar for shipment. The bar itself was of excellent quality. The finish was smooth and consistent. It was of the correct dimensions in width, thickness and length. Overall, the bar was of the same or better quality that you would find at a dedicated metals supplier.

The Everbilt 2” x 1/8” x 96” aluminum flat stock was as expected. It is a non-heat treated class of aluminum stock that is softer and less stiff for general purpose use. I used a piece of this flat stock on my basement stairs to make the transition from the newly tiled landing to the face of the top step, while adding only 1/8” to the landing overhang. Keeping the landing overhang to a minimum was necessary to reduce tripping while going up and stumbling while going down. The steps to the basement in my 100 year old home are not to current code; generally a 7” rise and 11” depth with no more than 1” overhang on the tread nose. My tread depth is inadequate at 8“, and I would make the situation worse if any landing overhang was added. (You shouldn’t have to think about what you are doing when using steps; these you do.) Due to the short tread depth, I did not want to use standard materials to finish off the edge of the tile where it ends at the top step/landing. I also didn’t want to drill into the ceramic tile. This 2” wide flat aluminum stock worked nicely. It only protrudes 1/8” and gives a nice, durable, finished edge. It is also not too noticeable, is wide enough to allow screwing into the wood stair face, and most important doesn’t create a trip hazard. Still some wood trim to tidy up, then caulk, sand, and paint. No warranty/guarantee noted. Made in India.

This aluminum stock is part of the great selection the Home Depot carries of “just the right size” steel and aluminum stock in angle, channel, bar, tube, rod and sheet, all cut and surface finished with obvious care, as well as an extensive stock of everything from rivets to sheet metal screws and the nuts and bolts you may need to fabricate and assemble whatever you are building or repairing. Selecting exactly what you need in their metal stock is a pleasure, because all of it is individually marked and barcoded as to size and material, making even self checkout quick and easy. As a homeowner and workshop hobbyist, this is my source number one when I have a project that for me, always means getting just the right materials I need to create or repair something in metal, all of it, "right now" in one place, so I can get started. While I prefer working with aluminum, like this nicely finished and ready to paint stock, the choice between steel and aluminum is usually decided for you by which of these two very different metals has the machining and fabricating characteristics you can work with, as well as which of them can better meet whatever the application you have in mind will demand of it. If it is something that will require high compression strength, stiffness, serious hardness, very high tensile strength, bendable in fabrication, and you can tolerate having to deburr most of your drill holes and cuts with a file or grinder, regardless of the blemishes it will create, it will be steel. Aluminum, if it will work for your project is much less punishing on you and your tools, and is safer to handle and work with. It drills easily with standard carbon steel drill bits. It also cuts and drills much cooler than steel, and with less resistance, and both cut lines and drilled holes need far less deburring. But it is somewhat brittle, which means it will not tolerate much if any reshaping unless very thin, which can complicate assembly. Aluminum has lower tensile strength and compression tolerance size for size than steel, but it is far easier to fabricate, which in the home workshop with limited tooling, often means you rough shape steel with an angle grinder and finish shape it with a bench or portable grinding wheel or a file, while the same stock in aluminum, if shaping is required, can often be managed with a carefully selected hand or powered hacksaw blade.
