Worked out perfect for the 3/16" cables that I made a loop on one end and secured the other end to arrowhead anchors. I used a 24" hand swager to crimp the ferrules and stop sets. Anything less than 24" will take a greater amount of effort to literally crush the ferrule securely to the cable. Following instructions as far as the thickness of the cable and ferrule, it's recommended that each ferrule is to be crimped 4 times. While using the swager, the ferrules elongated when pressure was applied but never showed any sign of splitting or separating.

This ferrules do a really nice job. You do need to be careful with the stops and make sure they are alined properly in the crimper or you will cut them in half. Also, the HD crimping tool is difficult to use with these ferrules you need one with at least a 24” arm to properly crimp they. The HD tool only has 18” arms and I was not able to get enough pressure into it and I can still bench press 225 at my age of 67.

It was difficult to get the wire rope started into the ferrule. If the end of the wire rope was misshapen at all it wouldn’t enter the hole. I ended up carefully grinding a cone shape on the end of the cable and twisting the cable as I pushed it into the hole.

Fast and effective way to secure a cable. The aluminum ferrule clamps easily and holds well. After a ring terminal broke off a cable on my lawn mower seat, I used this to re-secure the cable to the frame and chair. It was easy to crimp and so far has been holding well. The coated galvanized cable with the addition of the aluminum ferrule this will be a permanent fix

These are a great little set for wiring things like picture hangers or other things around the house. I have used them to make a stronger picture frame support with minimal ease. I use my electrical pliers to crimp the lines but you could use other tools to make this happen. They are clearly aluminum because I used them outside this summer to hang patio signs and they showed no signs or rust nor stuck to the magnet.

Ferrule and Stop sets are used for looping and swaging the ends of wire rope. Proper assembly recommends setting with a swaging tool instead of a hammer. Do not use on coated wire rope without first removing the coating from the assembly area.
