Our microwave failed.
Our GE microwave lasted less than 2 years; first the light began to flicker then it just turned off. Now it sits broken above the range.

GE product quality has dramatically declined
We have had this GE Microwave (jnm3163rj3ss for only a few years and the digital clock display number lights are steadily burning out. This is the main clock we use in the kitchen, and you can't see the correct time of day. So frustrating.

GE Junk
Moved into new home mid-March 2022! GE Microwave is already shot-barely made it 2 years! GE quality is non-existent! Useless warranty goid for ONE YEAR! That clearly shows what GE KNOWS about their quality!

Difficult to work with

broke after 3 years
Broke after 3 years
That's now two GE appliances that have broke in under 3 years. First was my dishwasher, which flooded my kitchen, and now the microwave.

Very poor quality construction
Door feels like cheap sheet metal. Closes and opens cheaply and loudly. Should have gotten a better microwave. This thing is worth maybe $150.

If you find that your microwave door closes loudly or is harder to close than your previous model, the difference in the door noise is due to a firmer spring in the door latch; this is a normal condition for the microwave. I do not recommend this. Flimsy construction.
I just installed this. Very poor quality. The door is made of bent sheet metal, feels flimsier than the $79 temporary countertop microwave I was previously using. And it doesn't heat up food any better. When you open and close the door it just feels CHEAP. Like buying a poor-quality tool that you unfortunately have to use over and over.
Buy a better microwave, like I am going to. I can't believe I am stuck with this thing for a while.
