Customer Reviews for GE 30 in. Gas Cooktop in Stainless Steel with 5 Burners Including Power Burners

The knobs are very poorly made out of plastic. I've had my unit for only 2 months and they are already scratched and chipped! In addition, GE does not have stainless steel options for replacement. My old GE unit had stainless steel knobs and they lasted over 7 years. Otherwise, the functionality and look of the unit is nice.

So far we love this cooktop. Installation was easy enough. It is slightly smaller than our previous 30" cooktop. But otherwise installation was exactly like the instructions.

Great looking stovetop. Switched from 4 burner to 5 burner. So much larger cooking space. New grids vey solid. I like that the robber bumpers are built into the stovetop.

Absolutely amazing product! This is a game changer and a huge step up from the 4 burner. The best attribute of this product is the contemporary look. I highly recommend this product.

I had an electric 4 burner in this house and after 8 years I decided it was time for a gas cooktop. There was nothing wrong with the electric but I had always had a gas cooktop and they cook so much better. I did a lot of research and decided on the GE 30” gas cooktop with power burners and optional griddle. I also liked the appearance . I really enjoyed cooking on it. The burners cook evenly and are easy to use plus cleanup is a breeze. I have had the cooktop for approximately 1 month and love it. The pricing was good also.

Love this gas range top! Love the 5th burner and the overall look of it. My handles did burn very quickly and only after a few uses so I wish those were of sturdier quality. The placement of them is very close to the grates so it’s very easy for the pan to touch them and burn. A few of them burned in the first week after the range was replaced.

It’s really nice and easy to clean. Just the lights need to be metal so it doesn’t burn.

Nice cooktop.. only issue is that when burners are warm and newly turned off, the ignition switch does not work & burner has to be lit individually with a lighter.

Overall pretty good value for the price. The more expensive one had backlit knobs which I didn’t feel necessary. I do wish it had lights to let you know that I was on. Also, it seems to sit up a little high off the counter maybe it’s just me.

Replaced an older Whirlpool model with only 4 burners that had grates that would slip off the surface and pots would slide onto the counter creating an extremely dangerous situation. I love that these grates sit down into a groove and cannot slip off the surface. They are securely in place. I love the 5th large power burner in the center and the option to put a griddle on the two left burners to create one cook surface. Hope the labels, Hi - Med- Low will not rub off after time like the old one. It looks like it's just printed on top of the stainless steel like my old one. Time will tell.

We really like the way the cooktop looks and the functionality of the burners, especially the granularity of the burner flame control from high to low…..! The low setting, of each burner, especially surprised us with just how low the flame could be set!

I have purchased countless GE Profile appliances over the past 25 years and have always been very satisfied with the design and functionality; however, the design of this rangetop has really left me bewildered. The issue at hand is that the control knobs are situated too close to the actual flames and pots that may be situated on the burners. To make matters worse, the knobs are plastic. One does not require a PhD in thermodynamics to identify the problem which is that heat from the burners/pots will cause the plastic knobs to melt (See attached picture). GE, how do you plan on resolving this long-standing condition which could easily cause a fire and/or personal injury.

Love the knobs in front so two people can cook on it at the same time. It’s great to have a 5th burner. We are happy with how easily it lights and the simple black design.

I've been cooking on electric stove top. However, when it died everyone said to buy gas. OMG why didn't I switch years ago. The best thing I ever did. Love my new gas cooktop. I've cooked every day since I got it. Love love love it😍

We researched many different cooktop options and found the 5-burner GE Profile cooktop to have the best features and at a major discount! We ordered online from Home Depot and delivery was quick. The installation was smooth and fit perfectly. We have been using it for a few days now and love the performance, especially the 15,000 BTU Power Boil and Simmer burners. The full-coverage iron grates make moving pots around a breeze.

Our new GE cooktop is perfect and we couldn't be happier. The five burners provide excellent options and very ample surface space for cooking. The grates are very heavy duty and stout and really remain in place. It's also nice having the grates span the width of the entire cooktop which makes moving cookware around a breeze.
