What a Great Way to Cook!
With the new kitchen remodel came the choice of a new cooktop. We read all about each; gas, electric and induction. Gas was out of the question as there are no natural gas lines and we have no room to sink a propane tank. I never liked electric. The heat doesn’t stop when you turn off the burner. Now, we have induction. The heat turns off when the burner is turned off. The boil stop within seconds. This is the new type of cooking for me. Yes, you need cookware that works with induction. It’s so worth it.

So much better than gas
Upgraded from a gas cooktop and am so glad I did. This GE induction cooktop is amazing - easy to clean, cooks in half the time, safe and attractive. Should have upgraded to induction a long time ago.

Poor performance, unacceptable.
Purchased this 36" induction cooktop to replace the 2014 GE version when half of it pooped out. The new version is terribly disappointing: nine heat levels per burner instead of nineteen; 25 min to boil 3 quarts of water for pasta in a stewpot; and literally cannot get a half-full Dutch oven to come to a boil even after 45 min! This has dramatically complicated meal preparation, and is really unacceptable. Both the cooktop and my pans have been checked by an in-warranty service technician, and, ostensibly, everything is "fine."
If it were simple to replace an induction cooktop in a granite countertop with a competing brand, believe me, I would.
There ARE two nice new features: the frosted circles for the pans are easier to see in dim light than the predecessor, and there is an option to turn a burner on immediately to High, without having to go up through the lower heat levels.
However, these are insufficient to balance off a half-hour to bring water to a boil.
Do NOT purchase this lemon!

However, we're sorry to learn it is taking nearly half an hour to bring water to a boil, and the heating levels did not exceed your expectations compared to your previous cooktop. We certainly understand how troublesome that would be and would love to help you have a better experience.
This model offers a rapid power boil using the 11" 3,700-Watt Induction Element. To reach a boil more quickly, the flames' diameter should match the cookware's size. A large pan on a small diameter flame will extend the cooking time. Flames should not extend beyond the cookware. This will reduce the burner's efficiency because the heat will go into the room instead of the cookware.
If two elements in the same zone are in use, and at least one element is at the maximum power level, the Hi setting will operate at a reduced power level. When boiling, please know that on the Hi level, it will operate for 10 minutes. Hi level may be repeated after the initial 10 minute cycle by pressing the + pad. A great portion of heating speed and performance depends on the cookware being used. Use pans that are recommended for induction, have flat bottoms, and match the size of the surface element.

Digital touch controls are dim and hard to read
The Digital Touch Controls are too hard to read on the electric cooktop. All the words and symbols are extremely dim. Even in a well lit kitchen, the controls are difficult to read. When the cooktop gets messy while cooking, it becomes even harder to recognize the digital controls. I recently purchased the cooktop with digital controls but I wish I had purchased one with knobs. I also purchased the wall oven and its.digital controls are very clear.
Before buying I looked at the online pictures and when you zoom in the digital controls look clear but are not.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO BUY BECAUSE I CAN BARELY SEE THE DIGITAL CONTROLS. I would love for GE to replacement and install a different cooktop with knobs for me. Very disappointed.

Excellent product!
Our GE Profile non-induction 36" cooktop was incidentally damage, which lead to the purchasing of the induction version. The entire surface is flat without anything in the way of moving pans or pots. It is very fast when turned on. Very happy with the product!

Love GE Induction
Just renovated our kitchen with a larger island. Replacing the GE 30" induction with a 36", but not the end of the 30". The 30" is going into a new building we have for gathering. I have had 3 inductions and all have been excellent. The first one a contractor drop a crowbar in from the ceiling. And I just got through telling you about the other 2. Love, love, love GE Induction, cooking at the next level.

Induction, ingenious!
This is the second induction cooktop I’ve owned!
When it’s on, it’s on, when it’s off, it’s off! Love the feature if I remove a pan and don’t return it right away, burner will automatically shut off.
One down side, dark top makes it difficult to see controls. Definitely need to have light over this cooktop.

Great Product - Worth the Extra $ Over Radiant
Am glad a coworker and I discussed Induction vs. Radiant cook tops - this is a great product and heats much quicker than my previous GE Radiant top. Highly recommend - easy drop-in installation and took less than an hour to remove/replace.

Repair
I bought a cooktop ge 36' after 6 months it's goes bad 2 burner was not working and I call my warranty department they take 3 months until they get it repaired so they let me stay without stove for 3 months until they get it fix ,they refuse to give me my refund back or give me a new one .I want all people that have family or kids to be home without stove for 2 months how would feel ,I have to pay for food every day to provide for my kids my wife GE told they can only give me $70 for the time I loss. People do not buy anything from GE when thing goes bad they will take a least 3 or 4 months to get resolved because I have a bad taste with them

Easy to Use and Clean
Sleek, easy to clean, and use. Never going back to gas or electric. It got my parents, who always leave the stove on, to switch over. For future design, have it flush to the counter, so food cant get underneath. Otherwise, love it!

Illegible Controls
We would give 5 stars - if the control display issue can be resolved. We purchased this cooktop some time ago in anticipation of building a new house. We've just installed it and are disappointed to find that the controls are not illuminated and are almost impossible to read. Is this a defect? Can it be corrected?
We are happy with how it cooks, but find it very difficult to operate. Please let us know if this can be remedied.

Love this cooktop
I purchased this cooktop without even looking at others because I had an older version (2008) in our former home and loved it very much, and after using it for 9 years it still looked like new and worked perfectly.

WOW!
We purchased a GE Profile 36" induction cooktop - so glad we did!!! In AZ the summers are so hot it is difficulty to cook anything in the kitchen without having to turn the air conditioning was up - this cooktop produces no heat and cooks beautifully - better than any electric or even gas range I have ever had.

Much better than traditional electric range.
Heats up fast and cools down fast too. Better control of cooking temperatures. Cools faster so it doesn't hold the heat in the kitchen and allows for quicker cleanup.

Wow! We love it!
The only complaint (Vewy, vewy small one) is the noise...the buzzing. I have read that they all do that. Wish we would have gotten one sooner!! It replaced a gas cooktop and I love cooking with gas! This is even better...no heat !!

Very good induction cooktop
This is our third GE induction cooktop in two different houses. We love the speed at which induction heats and cools down. I must say the first GE induction cooktop we owned many years ago was the best but they are still very good products.
