Do not buy -piece of junk
I purchased this in a closed box at the store. I took it home, opened it, and it fell out of the box in broken pieces, so it was obviously packed up this way at the factory. One of the attachment clamps was split & the other one was completely broken off. A sharp piece of plastic fell and hit my wood floor and left a gouge mark, I had to pack it up in the box and make another trip back to the store to return it . Junk-that never went through quality control!

built like a tank
I was pleasantly surprised when the glacier bay toilet lid was delivered, it far surpassed my expectations. This lid is built very strong n to last a long time. The new mounting method is simple but very effective. You can sit on it n it's doesn't move or sink in, fabulous. Installion, drop bolts in holes, tighten wing nuts from underside, place toilet lid down on bolts, place covers to hide bolts,,, Done. Glacier bay toilet lid is built well as any. priced great for this heavy duty toilet lid. I highly recommend. Thanks again HOME DEPOT

Cracked within a Month
Similar to some of the other reviews I have seen on here, the seat cracked within the first month after install. I am at a loss for how so many can break/crack and still being sold. Do not buy.

Installation problem
Not sure why so many had easy installation. The nuts for the bolts would not screw on. The tab kept hitting the toilet bowl making it impossible to screw on. Had to cut the tabs off. Once in and tight the seat is crooked on the toilet. Screwed and unscrewed the bold a dozen times. I other option for wooden seat as universal seats do not fit you have to buy glacier bay. 😕

DO NOT BUY. This toilet seat is pure junk. Wooden toilet seats, period, are junk. Lasted almost 9 mknths before it cracked in half.

Do not recommend
Purchased this less than a month ago and it’s already broken. And not in your usual way. The “welded” plastic had come apart from the toilet seat.

Very upset toilet seat broke
I haven’t had my toilet long only 6 months and it’s a handle piece is broken on it that holds it together and i have been trying to get this situation fixed for 3 days now and I have been getting the run around or no help at all. I’m suppose to have a manufactured warranty but that don’t seem to matter . I reached out Friday no help and i reached out today no help I’m stuck i need to get this replaced or should i buy a different brand ?

Glacier Bay toilet seat review
I like this toilet seat but it is easy to scratch and the paint will come off, which is why I am getting a replacement after 2 years. Scratch came from jewelry while cleaning .

Discoloration after cleaning!!!
I bought this seat to replace an old cracked seat. Thought it was perfect until I cleaned it with normal toilet cleaner (scrubbing bubbles) and I got yellow discoloration. Cleaned it with another gentle cleaner and still discoloration. Anything you clean it with will turn it yellow. Disgusting looking

A good seat but one nuisance problem
I like the seat - it's solid, fits my old toilet perfectly and was super easy to install.
However, there was a problem getting the lid to stay open without slamming shut because a hinge was not properly screwed to the lid.
After dealing with this problem for two weeks, I removed the seat and saw that a second set of holes were in one hinge - see the photo. I removed the screws and put them in the original holes, put the seat back on and the lid finally stayed open, the way it is supposed to work.
This seems like a QC problem that shouldn't have happened. If I didn't have a cordless drill/driver, I would have returned the seat.

The design of this seat makes it both easy to initially install and to later remove when cleaning the toilet near the seat hinges. The previous seat (about 10 years old) was the same model so I just turned the attaching lock on the hinge, lifted the old seat off, put the new one in place and locked it down. I had both our toilet seats installed in about 5 minutes with no tools needed. Doesn't get any easier than that. If I hadn't gotten lucky with the models being the same and had to install the supplied new attaching bolts, the only hard part would have been getting the old seat off. When I need another replacement in another 10 or so years, it's nice to know it won't be a difficult job. Seat is comfortable, sturdy, and at an affordable price.

poor design
Please don’t buy this. It is poorly designed. After I tighten the nuts in the back I can’t open the toilet seat, since it hitting thise nuts in the back. The seat can’t stand up right. I can’t return it seen is being used so I have to throw it away and get a new one.

It is an adequate replacement. Easy to install. Nice finish. However, there is no space between the hinge and the lid in the back when opened. Makes it difficult to use a toilet seat cover without it wanting to slam shut.

Broken in 10 Months
Not a good buy. We bought this about 10 months ago. I know it was inexpensive, but I’m only about 170 lbs. Today the seat just broke. I will buy a different brand to replace it.

It's a good ole toilet seat, no bells or whistles but does exactly what it is supposed to do, no more no less. Installation was easy and I like the way it attaches to the toilet which makes it easy to clean. Just turn the lever, remove the seat, clean and place it right back. No screwing necessary unless you're super motivated. It looks cool and fits my round toilet to a tee. I have a high confidence in Glacier Bay products and this toilet seat won't disappoint. Time will tell how it's holding up but for now it gets five stars from me. Highly recommend.

The easy to remove lock would not stay in place so the seat kept popping off on one side. I solved this by putting a little screw through it. That fixed the pop off problem, but now the hinge on the underside broke.

I purchased four of these in the last few months to replace toilet seats in an apartment and in my home. Three of them have now broken. Two by me just shifting my weight while sitting. I weigh 180lbs. Once broken, they are a serious pinch hazard. I have included a picture of the last one to break.

I purchased this toilet seat, and within one month it cracked and broke. I took it back to get a replacement, and within another month the replacement had broken in the exact same place. This is the first (and second) time in my life that a toilet seat has broken, and I've owned a home for approximately 15 years. There is no reason for such a poorly made product. This is a garbage product. Do not waste your money.

We manufacture our toilet seats per the industry standard sizing, of which our engineers have determined only one set of bumpers is needed to accommodate most bowls. Some toilet bowl manufacturers include unique slants or designs in their products, of which our toilet seats cannot always accommodate. Our wooden seats only feature one set, whereas some of our plastic seats feature two sets so this may be an alternative option. All our toilet seats carry a one year manufacturing defect warranty, so if the seat is within one year, you may bring it back to the place of purchase for an immediate warranty replacement. Most stores have their own return/refund policy, so please keep in mind you are wanting to warranty the receipt rather than return it. While I like the mounting points and how easy it is to remove and clean, I am very dissatisfied with the seat itself. This is the second to crack in less then a month, the seat and lid constantly shift while in use, and the seat pops out of the mounting. I will be going with a different company.
