Sensors are awesome! They can be placed in any room near the thermostat and can then be assessed to monitor room temperature remotely.

Believe the negative reviews
We had this for a year before it broke. System error E299. Of course, it's out of warranty. Not happy about spending $150 on a thermostat that does not last longer than 1 year, do not waste your money.

I have rental properties and have tried to use these thermostats at all of my properties. Unfortunately, I have had continuous problems with them and I don’t recommend them.

Do not buy this thermostat!
First of all, I never write reviews. I’m doing this one because I am that passionate about no one else owning this JUNK! It’s constantly setting itself at an incorrect temperature or reading that it’s a temp in the house that it most certainly isn’t. Do yourself a favor, buy anything but this thermostat!

I got the box with no thermostat in it an they are telling me there nothing they can do. I spend thousand and thousands of dollars with them. And they said there nothing we can do for you,when we shipped it weight was corect. Nope no it wasnt bec i dont have a thermostart. Great job home dumpster you strike again.

Won’t work with Nest app.
I have three nest learning thermostats that operate through the Nest app. This Nest thermostat only works through the Google Home app. It is incredible to me that this Nest t-stat won’t work with the Nest app. How stupid is that?

Unusable, frustrating junk.
DO NOT waste your money on this ridiculous piece of garbage. It's impossible to program, nags about battery state when the batteries are fine, randomly changes the temperature and has a user interface that inspires cursing. Bad bad bad bad bad. I actually tore mine off the wall in frustration and threw it across the room.

Google should be ashamed
I never thought I would have paid so much money for a thermostat or have to write a scathing review on one but these thermostats are garbage, both this one and the learning Nest. I disabled all the extra features and reset multiple times, it sets itself. I’ll come home and the A/C is on 55 degrees or the heat is 80 something. I set it and it reverts back in a few minutes. It even recanted the A/C cooldown rule (protects A/C condenser from short cycling which could destroy the compressor)

Total garbage
Not user friendly. Won’t hold settings. Is the only item in our home that disconnects from the WiFi.

I am not happy with this product! First of all, I did a curbside pickup order and package looked like it had been opened previously. I kept it couple days thinking I would return it and decided to install it anyways and I’ve been noticing the AC keeps running even though it’s reached its temperature. As if fan is on but thermostat is on auto. I’ve went through all the settings and keep having to turn it on and off manually ?

The claim on the box was that I didn’t need the C wire. Turns out you DO NEED the C wire. Sure would like to have this thermostat. Thanks

They keep losing connection to WiFi and showing an error code for no power. Have replaced with a standard (non-smart) thermostat which amazingly works.

Unable to connect to app
Spent over one hour trying in different ways to connect 2 nest thermostats to the Google Home App. But to no avail…the nor the QR code nor the sequence of numbers were successful. I gave up!

We found that tapping on the side of the thermostat and attempting to change the setting was difficult. For example, we attempted to change the cool setting and it would change the heating setting. We found it easier to just change the settings on our phones. That is not quite what was advertised. Other than that, it seems to be working fine.
We were also disappointed to find out our electrical company does not offer the refund that most others do, but that is not Home Depot‘s fault.
