These Roman shades work well for blocking light because they have a solid backing fabric that is separate from the face material and only attached at every third fold seam. The strings that support the shade are attached to the back fabric, so they don't show on the face fabric. The instructions for mounting are poor, and they don't mention that there is a swiveling stiffener on the second from the bottom cross-piece that should be folded down and inserted into clips on the bottom cross-piece to facilitate raising and lowering the shade. The quality seems very good. I have ordered another pair for a second window--the windows are 58.5 inches wide, so I have two 29-inch shades. The advantage is that they are easier to raise and lower, and one side can be open for more light or for opening the sliding glass window. Allow about 2 weeks for delivery; my second order was placed on the 10th of the month and is expected for delivery to the store on the 21st.

Very Nice Roman Shades. As with any install, there is a learning curve, but it went up fairly easy. The end result is fabulous! The lift mechanism is smooth and easy to operate. The look is classic and it is truly a black-out shade. It is at the high end of my price range, but I feel it is definitely worth it, and will be buying more.

wasnt sure how good these shades would be i have been pricing else where and they ran around $100 so when i seen at this price i jumped on it very happy with shades and very easy to hang love them!!!

Excellent quality and price

I bought these for my bedroom, and while they are amazing at their blackout / insulating properties and pull down like a dream, putting them back up is very awkward. As you push up on the bottom you have to kind of "fluff" (for lack of a better word) the pleating as you go. It takes way more time than the corded Roman shades that I had on my windows previously and while OK in my bedroom where there is no furniture in the way, I don't have any idea how you would do that if you had say a window behind your couch. I bought six more for my living room than I am going to return for just that reason. Also, It took me a good 15 minutes and a YouTube search to find and install video that had Roman shades with clips, to figure out how to actually put the blind into the clip. The installation booklet was good, up until that step which had a teeny tiny illustration and wording that didn't make 100% sense.

The plastic top broke in many places! The bracket broke. Very poor quality!! Very hard to install!!

These look nice from the front color and material wise. Pretty good size gap at top doesnt impress me. And if these are facing a highly visable window from the rear, gotta get them just perfectly up so they look right..

Covers the glass and darkens well. I don’t know how it will be in the long term as I only put it up last week.

Easy to assemble and cord free. Not too expensively priced. Adds more darkened to my room than the ones I had before. Nice, sturdy material.

Great shade, quiet and heavy duty. Only bad thing is the screws they send, they are C**P! Had to use our own screws.

This is perfect for the house. It looks great and it is easy to wash.

Love these shades! I have 4. They go up & down easily. One of them “bunches up” (the fabric lining), that’s the only downside. Not sure how easy these will be to clean, but they’re miles better than my dusty 2 inch blinds I had up previously.

Easy to install, very blackout and work perfect for our baby nursery. I would recommend.
