Don't buy it for outdoor. What a disappointment! We installed it shortly after buying it SURPRISE: In less than 6 months it began to rust. The specifications: INDOOR/OUTDOOR, but NOT TRUE. Amazing!!! The warranty says: Because of varying climatic conditions this warranty does not cover any changes in brass finish, including rusting, pitting, corroding, tarnishing, or peeling. We lost money at HOME DEPOT, but we are hopeful that they will do something to fix this very bad experience.

I would have given this fan a 4 star rating until today. One of the blades cracked at the point of attachment and sailed into a wall that could have easily been my living room windows or worse, a guest. No thanks!

I looked at several reviews and different fans and finally decided to choose this one. I couldn't be happier with the decision I made. Huge fan. Very quiet you won't know its on besides the breeze it makes. Definitely a great purchase.

Great product, easy to install, provides large amounts of air flow. It was perfect for our living room/dining room combination.

Bought two of the 68" versions of this fan. Install was easy. One had a bad light right out of the box. Customer service sent me a new one no problem. The fans look great, move lots of air and are quiet. Just put them up, will update as far as longevity.

First things first - The single reason that contributed to me giving this fan a four star rating is because I purchased five of these fans to be installed under two outdoor structures (single fan under a cabana, and four under a 20x20 pavilion). I installed the first fan under the cabana using a 24" downrod and it worked like a champ. I installed the other four a week later under the pavilion in the same manner. Once the wiring was complete I turned them on one by one via the wall switch to link them to individual remotes. After they were linked I could not keep any of them running for more than 30 seconds before they tripped the GFCI breaker on the circuit (20 amp circuit). I did hours of troubleshooting to determine if it was my circuit wiring, but all testing revealed the wiring was correct and circuit would even run an air compressor and shop vac without tripping for 10+ minutes. So, I moved the cabana fan to the pavilion and hooked it up. It works perfectly with no issues. I hooked up the other four fans individually in the cabana and each fan behaved the same, tripping the GFCI circuit within 30 seconds of turning on the fan. So, I disassembled and repackaged each of the four fans and returned them to my local store and ordered four more. However, I have since learned through this products Q&A section that these fans are not compatible with GFCI circuits due to the variable speed DC motor and the transformer inside. This kind of information needs to be part of the documentation, as well as the information on this product page! A simple changing of the breaker for the lighting circuit to a standard 20 amp breaker would have solved this issue and saved numerous hours and frustration. That is why I am giving it an overall rating of four stars. But now for my review: Installation: Installation is simple, like other fans I have installed. I installed them directly to my 6/12 pitch (~26.5 degrees) hip rafters using a round weather tight light receptacle. The receptacle is a Hubble-Bell rated for 70lb ceiling fans. The maximum mounting angle, according to the product manual on page-6, is 30 degrees. The ball mount locked into the hanger and still has room to sway if needed at 26.5 degrees. On the first fan I chose to install the blades while the motor was hanging. However, I decided to install the blades on the other fans with the unit supported on a table which made the work easier and faster. I also recommend installing the light mounting ring before hanging, so the only thing left would be to screw in the light assembly itself (3 screws to deal with) and the globe while on a ladder. Operation: I attached a P-Touch label with a number for each remote to correspond with the switch number and the fan it was linked to. The remote seems good, but it is not weatherproof, so don't leave it on the outdoor bar/counter top during inclement weather. The fan when first turned on will move slowly forward and backward to align the brushes and then it will begin operating as desired. Even at medium the fan creates noticeable air movement. The operation is absolutely quiet. On high this fan moves air like no other fan I have had! It is approximately 10ft off the ground and the air movement at chair height is incredible! In South Alabama this will be nice on those hot sweltering days. If you leave the fan on and then turn the wall switch off (if that's how you install yours), and then turn the switch on later the fan resumes at it's previous setting. The dimming feature (holding the light button down) is great as well. The light is very bright on any temperature setting when turned all the way up. Appearance: The nickel gloss finish is nice and the color of the blades are too. Not exactly the color I'd like, so at a later time I may remove the blades and repaint them to my referred color. The blades are stiff moulded plastic, which may be able to be lightly sanded and repainted. Overall I am impressed with this fan. Again, the only reasons for my four star rating is the lack of documentation that this fan is not compatible with GFCI protected circuits.

Excellent kit for the price. DC motor is absolutely the way to go, it pushes a lot of air with a shuttle gentle breeze effect. With the down rod attachment this kit has completely transformed my great room.

This is the second of the make and model for our new home that we moved into 6 months ago. The previous one was for our Great Room and had a different make and model for our lanai. The fan for our lanai ended up having a product recall due to safety issues so we replaced with another of this fan as we have been so happy with in our Great Room. We didn't purchase it initially for our lanai usage as we feared it might be too large for the space at 68" (other fan that we got was 52") but it looks greats and the extra circulation (CFM) of this fan really works out well for this covered, outside space. In the end, it worked out with the safety recall of the other fan facilitating us getting another one of this model and we couldn't be happier and it is a really sharp looking fan also from a décor perspective.

Finally my patio is bearable in the summer heat. This fan really moves the air and I have a great light source now. . Was very simple to hang, less than 30 minutes.

Blades started peeling after only 4 months and offcourse it is not covered by the warranty. Not enough air flow even on the highest speed. Buyers beware

Absolutely stunning ceiling fan-- aesthetically and operational wise. Far exceeded all my expectations. Installed this from watching the video description from the Home Depot photos/videos of the product. Install took about 1.5 hrs which included taking down my old ceiling fan. Looks - sleek and very modern with amazing colors (i got the white base and gray fan blades). Operationally - Sturdy, super smooth and quiet are huge points of this fan, not to mention its large, angled fan blades move an incredible volume of air. I seriously can't say enough about this fan-- super impressive. Its addition to the living room really fit the look of modern/coastal I was going for, and I couldn't be happier. Highly recommend this fan for anyone who's interested in getting it.

Although it looks attractive, the wood color is much lighter than what is displayed on the box & it doesn't fan much air on it's highest setting.

Bought two of these bad boys to push a lot of Texas outdoor Air. So far doing a great job! Install was a breeze and got one remote to work both units. Would buy again!

We have used our Home Decorators Collection Windward 68 in. Color Changing Integrated LED Indoor/Outdoor Brushed Nickel Ceiling Fan with Light and Remote Control for a week now and wow. This fan pushes air like no fan we have had before with little noise. You can hear how quiet it is in the video. It is exactly what you would expect from a 68" fan. We put it in our son's room, which is a converted garage and has 11' ceilings. It can get quiet hot down there and this is the first fan that actually makes his room comfortable. It actually blew one of his posters off the wall when he had it unnecessarily high. He really likes the ability to change the temperature of the light from a bright white down to a mellow yellow. You could not see the change in the three colors really well in the photo so watch the video for a better idea of the three colors. (Keep in mind color changing does not mean you can get purples and blues and reds.) Changing the light color is instantaneous with the push of the button. The speed is adjusted with up and down arrows and there is a light to help guide you to a favorite position. So while there are nine speeds you can really adjust the speed to anywhere. It is also wonderful you do not have to get on a ladder to change the direction; just click the button on the remote. You can see the direction change in the video. Installation was pretty standard for a fan. No issues there. We did have to buy a down rod for our high ceilings and there was plenty of wire. Our son has zero complaints. It looks great and we have threatened to take it if we ever get a covered outdoor deck. To which he said, "This fan is coming with me when I leave." (Stay tuned for that outcome.) The Home Decorators Collection Windward 68 inch Color Changing Integrated LED Indoor/Outdoor Brushed Nickel Ceiling Fan with Light and Remote Control is well worth the ticket price. Not only does it have a great build quality and looks nice, but it was easy to assemble and all the features work well. We installed this on our screened-in deck, and it throws a lot of air, but stays quiet enough to hold a conversation.

I was excited to get this fan installed based on the blade size, appearance, and multiple controls. It did not disappoint. My observations: • Install is normal and will take about 30-45 minutes once you get your old fan down. I’m never in a hurry during these installs. Slow and steady and do it right. • The included downrod was a bit short for my angled ceiling so I did buy a longer downrod which is what you see in my photos. • The fan itself was well packaged in the box, with everything included, and in good condition. I could not find any quality issues anywhere on the fan. • The appearance is modern and makes a statement in your room. • No wobble in the fan whatsoever. Mine was balanced perfectly after I installed it. • It’s really quiet. The only thing I hear is wind moving off the blades. I can’t detect any fan motor noise and no hum from the LED light. Very quiet. Thank you! • The remote functions well and is lit up in places so it’s easy to use even in low light situations. It has 9 speed setting which is more than enough. The remote has a timer, light control, and comfort breeze settings which will alternate through pre-programmed speed settings. I wasn’t sure I would like the comfort breeze settings, but I must admit it works nicely. • Airflow. It’s plenty. With 9 settings you will find the amount of airflow that works for you. On the higher settings it produces plenty of air movement. • The light is good and not harsh to your eyes. You have 3 light settings (soft, warm, daylight) which increase in intensity. I like soft lights so the setting I like is included. • The remote did not come with a wall mount. That may be a big deal to some people, to me it is not. Just kind of strange to not include that. I really like this fan. It does everything I wanted and looks great while making no annoying noises. I recommend.

This is just what we needed for our two-story great room. The fan is huge with really long fan blades. It is super-quiet, even at the top speed. It has a lot of extra features, some of which we probably won't use but are nice to have regardless. I had it professionally installed by an independent installer and he told me that in his opinion this was one of the nicer units he had seen. This fan has 9 speeds instead of the usual 3. It has a remote control which is a wonderful thing. The remote allows you to run the fan in one of three presets which will automatically vary the fan speed. I'm not sure why that would be all that useful so for now we're running the fan at a set speed. You can choose to run the fan all the time at any of the 9 speeds. It has an integrated light. The light fixture is low-profile, is LED, and can be set to shine in three different "colors" or temperatures. IOW, it can be warm to daylight. The light can also be dimmed. We found it necessary to dim the light as low as possible because it is so bright. I have attached photos that attempt to show the three colors. Cons: As mentioned, the fan comes with a remote control. The fan can ONLY be controlled via the remote; there are no pull-chains. The unit has only three wires which means you can't control the light separate from the fan itself from a wall switch. For me this is not a major issue but for people who need the light as a primary light source this would be a real drawback. IMO, the light is too bright even at its dimmest setting. The dimming adjustment needs to be able to lower the brightness beyond its lowest setting. Speaking of which, the instructions don't tell you how to dim the light fixture. I had to call the support number to find out that you simply have to press and hold the light button on the remote control to make it continuously dim/brighten the light. I would urge the manufacturer to make that feature clearer in the user manual. This is why I rated the ease of installation a 4 instead of a 5.

Very nice fan. Pretty heavy. Very quiet. The fan remote seems to have 6 speed settings. The light is on/off, but does have 3 warmth (color settings) 2700k, 3000k, 5000k. I installed it outside on a covered deck. It took a while to wire a box. Bringing wire from a box in the attic, running conduit outside to a new ceiling box, and wiring it to a light switch. The light switch is more of an on/off safety switch. The real control is with the remote. The paper work warns against wiring the fan to a variable control light switch. This is a six blade fan and is very stable and quiet. I installed it with the extension rod which makes the lens of the light18.5 inches below the ceiling. The fan can also be installed close to the ceiling without using the extension rod.

Probably the best fan I’ve ever owned even on its lowest setting it feels like you’re in a wind tunnel. Very easy to install very user-friendly nice and quiet but let me tell you when you got it turned all the way up if you get any loose papers laying around you better hide them I would highly recommend this product and ask for Losco top-of-the-line very modern very futuristic

One thing we know a lot about out here in the Valley of the Sun is ceiling fans. Every room of every house has one and for most of the year, they are whirling away keeping the cool, air conditioned air moving throughout the house. This one is terrific. It's plenty big and plenty powerful. The multi-color LED light is an interesting treat, but probably something that you will only use once or twice. We wouldn't consider building a house without a few of these and this is a great choice. If you only need one, take a hard look at this.

I love this fan! The contemporary styling looks great. I love the fact that the blades are made from ABS plastic because they are perfectly balanced and won't sag like wooden blades. The included instructions are very clear and easy to follow, and if you need more assistance there is even a video that shows installation from start to finish. Assembly was very straightforward, and if you've ever installed a ceiling fan before the process will be very familiar. The one major difference is that there is no blue wire for the light kit. There is only white, black and ground so you can't use a switch to control the light and fan separately. Installation took me about 30 minutes from start to finish which includes removing the old fan and configuring my smart home switch. The fit and finish of the fan is top notch. All of the parts fit together perfectly. The motor is dead silent when it is running, all you hear is the gentle whoosh of the air when the fan is running at higher speeds. The included LED light is super bright but dimmable by using the remote and it's color can be changed to warm white, cool white or daylight. The full featured remote is the only way to control all functions of the fan. You can select from 9 speeds, forward or reverse (fan must be turning to change direction), light on/off/color, timer (2, 4 or 8 hours) and comfort breeze mode 1-3. Comfort breeze will cycle randomly through the different speed settings in order to simulate a natural breeze. Setting 1 will cycle through speeds 1-3, setting 2 will cycle through speeds 1-6 and setting 3 will cycle through speeds 1-9. My only complaint, if you want to call it that, is that the fan is only partially smart home compatible. You can't add a speed control or light dimmer to this fan. You can however use a smart switch to turn the fan on and off. The built in fan controller has a memory and the fan and light will return to their previous states when power is restored.

The first thing is the fan is huge, I mean huge! this is really meant for a large room. The fan itself is good looking with 6 black thick plastic blades with a slight curve in them so will push or pull maximum airflow. The unit is quite heave weighing in at 25 pounds. The fan is beautiful quality with polished nickel except for the blades.It come s with a remote and I have a few fans with the same type of remote and the fans can all connect to the same remote. The remote that comes with the fan on my pictures is on the left Does not need any bulbs but at the same time the fan is not super bright.There is a lot to install with this fan so leave yourself a good hour or two but it does come with instructions and a video link. This is a quality fan, Wife loves it.

I really like this fan! High end design. It is of high quality and comes with everything you need to install it. The only thing I added was a longer extension rod I had purchased previously at home depot because I wanted it to hang lower. This fan weighs almost 25 lbs. The motor runs on DC current. The blades are made of ABS and are 29 in long and are shaped for efficiency and will not deform. The fan comes with integrated led's and has three lighting levels. The included remote controls the lighting and shows the selected speed ( 9 speeds ) with an illuminated scale.Nicest remote I've ever seen. It can also be set to automatically change speeds in comfort breeze setting and can be set to run 2, 4 or 8 hours. Powerful and quiet. Also can be installed outdoors in screen room ect.

I bought 3 fans and when installed them all they have the same code to start and stop. You need to clarify how to change the beeper code to make it easier to operate them individually.
