The Hunter fan I installed in 2014 worked well until recently at which time I had to push gently on the blades to get it to start turning. Also there was now a low hum that was tolerable only on the low speed. Until February of 2024 perfect working and very quiet. Having to replace it after seeing if a repair was feasible I bought another Hunter of same style and size. Less than pleased. It was received in good time. Factory sealed I installed it a couple of days later. Instructions were very clear. I offer that you may consider installing the blades first; before hanging the main unit. Only do that if you can work around the blades as you hang it and connect wiring. If you follow the directions install the first screw for each blade VERY loosely; enough to hold blade and let it droop. Too tight makes it hard to align the second screw; especially over your head. One reason for downgrading this to a 3/5 is that the finish was not up to Hunter standards. See image for worst one. Not really noticeable at a distance; is so up close. Was a toss up if I would return it. I went ahead with install and it will not start on its own at low speed. Will start on it own at other speeds only. Second reason for a 3/5 rating. It is very quite at medium and high speeds. I use it at medium as I like light air movement when asleep. I have three other Hunter fans that I also installed in 2014. Sadly I will consider other brands when they start to fail. And this was was made in chicom China. That is not revealed on the website.

Shipped quickly & arrived in perfect condition. Packed exceedingly well!! Came with an ACTUAL instruction manual (and a balance kit.) It replaced the OTHER Hunter fan that was in the house when I bought it in 1996. Who knows how old it was! This one is smaller but I adore it. It is elegant and quiet. Had an electrician install it so I would not mess up anything!! LOVING it these hot summer months, and I am running it on LOW!!! Thanks much!

Fan looks and works fine. Wish it had a choice of light brown or gray blades.

Easy and very quiet pleasantly surprised

I love this fan! It is beautiful and whisper quiet. I, as a 76 year old woman, removed the old fan and installed this one myself. The directions were straightforward and the guide for sloped ceilings was very helpful. It did wobble and it took some time and patience to get it balanced using the weights included in the package.

I purchased two of these fans and they are doing the job of keeping my place cool. They were used upstairs one in each bedroom. Now the cooling unit won't have to work as hard. Hunter fans are the only fans I purchase.

All of my ceiling fans in my house are Hunter fans. So, when I needed to replace a fan in my living room I knew it was going to be a Hunter fan. I replaced it all on my own and with the easy to follow instructions I had it up in no time. It is very quiet and looks great!

Easy assembly, less than an hour taking our time and reading all instructions. Well balanced solid unit. These are installed in a covered porch with open sides.

Hunter fans are excellent. This is the 4th one I have installed and it couldn't be easier. Great product, with great instructions. I have installed other brands in the past that required me to balance the blades with the lead weights. I have never had to do this with the Hunter fans.

We had a neighbor install for us. He took down the old fan and quickly hung up the new one. No issues. Perfectly balanced, it looks great! Wish we had done that 6 months ago!

Fantastic! That's the name they should have called it! Love this fan. It's quite and cools the room down quite nicely. It makes those long summer nights easier to sleep. You don't even hear the fan working. What you hear is the soft sound of wind blowing on you drowning out all the background noise that keeps you up at night. Totally recommend.

My single fan wasn’t cutting it—myblarfe living room was too hot and there wasn’t enough light, so I upgraded to these Hunter fans with recessed lighting. I love the way they look. The brushed nickel matched my other finishes: door knobs, curtain rods, etc. We installed them on a vaulted ceiling with no issues.

One of the best HD purchases we made for our new remodel. Beautiful fan, dark oil rubbed bronze color and the perfect size for our master bedroom!! I bought two more for other rooms once we installed the first one!!

Bought this online. Was at our front door in 5 days, I believe it was. This is the 2nd time I've ordered merchandise online through Home Depot. Not a single problem. The Hunter fan - Used an electrician friend to do the installation. Took approximately 45 minutes and it was up and running. The chain used to control the speeds is almost totally motionless, even on high. Appearance - What else can I say other than this is one nice looking fan. Every bit as good as the photos Sound - I saw a couple reviews complaining about it's loudness on high. Maybe their installation wasn't as good as mine because mine is VERY quiet on high speed. Air movement - YEAH...it moves a lot of air when on high blowing down when I tested it. I have it on reverse right now and medium is plenty for my 14' x 20' computer room. When summer rolls around this fan is going to be very nice.

This looks really nice in our living room and really helps to cool the area without having to use our air conditioner. We had it professionally installed since there wasn't an existing fan in the room. It is super quiet even on high and puts out a good breeze.

Product was not as described online. It was supposed to come with two down rods but only had one 2” rod.
