Wire Armour is similar to other vinyl electrical tapes. The pro grade seems to be a bit stronger than the premium grade and there is very little difference between the two. The pro grade has a shiny finish, (Premium grade has a satin finish). Both are durable, have good adhesion and workability. As with all vinyl tapes, you can tear off a piece, but easier to cut it so it doesn’t compromise your repair. This brand is imported so this is why I lowered my star rating.

This is an excellent vinyl electrical tape to use around the house for something like replacing an existing light for a ceiling fan with all the wires to connect. It has a high elasticity but that makes it more difficult to tear off. You need to use a cutter or scissors. It therefore is strong and adheres when it's applied to wire connections. It is listed as flame retardant and has a temperature rating of 0 to 221 degrees F. It is also a great price for a package of 5 for the quality.

The problem with having to do electrical work for me is, I own rental properties and it usually involves a repair or upgrade of some sort. This can involve a stifling hot attic or a freezing cold garage. That is why I'm very glad that the adhesive is effective from very cold to very hot. And everything in between. The tape stretches very nicely for a tight seal. And it's great that it is rated against many forms of corrosion for safety.

Ideal Wire Armour 3/4” x 60’ electrical tape is high quality electrical tape that has very good adhesion and flexibility to protect wire connections with a solid insulation barrier for variety of electrical wiring ’scenarios. This electrical tape is tough enough to be a lasting repair or as required for new connections where a tight bond and tough exterior is required.

The case really is needed if you're not going to use up a roll quickly. I learned on and have always turned to the 33+, but would have no problems switching to this tape. Made in Spain. I did a few quick tests. Adhering to lightly dusty materials was no problem. It wasn't happy sticking to lightly oiled plastics or rubbers, but it did it well enough that you could stretch and wrap over itself for a tight bond. It was not bothered by being submerged in water if the end was neatly cut and pressed down. If the end was stretched and broken leaving a ragged end, water would creep up the tape and it would come off after a few hours. The same results were observed with a light, thin oil. The tape was resistant to burning and a marker wrote well on the tape. I find that to be acceptable performance given the intended use. I found a somewhat novel use for it. My neighbor's finger had swollen around his wedding band and he was in discomfort for a few days. They were about to go have the ring cut off when I thought to try this tape. This tape's stretch and strength was great. A few wraps was enough to compress his finger to a smaller size and the smooth surface allowed the ring to be pulled right off with soapy water as a lubricant. The tape saved a man's priceless wedding band.

This particular tape is vinyl and thus, it will be very useful when temperatures fluctuate - from 32 degrees to 200+ - it can withstand temp drops and rises. Easy to pull/stretch even after sitting in a fridge for 20 minutes - it's easy to unroll and get it "going." Stays on without unwrapping. Color-coded tapes will be useful for various markings of wires - no brainier. Handy plastic cover is useful to keep the roll intact and without dirt all over it. Great quality product! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I received a 3 pack of “ideal” brand vinyl black tape. First off I was impressed with the plastic container with lid that hold each tape. When you have used the entire roll up you can use the container to store items like screws and tacks. Each roll of tape has a good amount of tape 66ft. I used the tape to wrap an extension cord it had a few cracks in it. The vinyl tape wrapped nicely around the cord. I really like this product. However, it is not made in America. It is made in Spain.

I've been spoiled! I want to believe electrical tape is electrical tape is electrical tape but this tape like so many others disappointed me. In comparison to what I consider the industry standard this tape is too stiff at room temperature and so I'm sure in cold weather will be even worse. Electricians don't cut tape they more snap it off when finishing a wrap. This tape is difficult to snap and balls up when it is leaving a wad that has to be flattened out. It isn't 3/4" wide (see attached photo in comparison to a tape that is) which isn't necessarily bad as when being applied to a receptacle which isn't 3/4" thick actually worked well. The surface appears to be covered in some type of oil which gets on the hands and is transferred to the adhesive on the tape. The card board spool is also smaller making it difficult to put on to a 'T' bar on the electrical pouch. The five pack is nice as we tend to go through a lot of tape on jobs, wrapping receptacles and switches, insulating splices and attaching wire to fish tapes for wire pulling. I'll probably give this away to a non-electrician.

This is a great working vinyl electrical tape for when you need to count on performance in your projects.  This has high elasticity while being flame retardant.  This tape has high UV resistance so there is no need to worry about exposure to sunlight and is also great to use when working with corrosive chemicals.  It is tough yet stretchy and will insulate your wiring for splices up to 600 volts.

Good quality tape. Rather close in feel to classic 3M 88 electrical tape except this stuff is much more elastic. That makes it somewhat more difficult to tear off, but it also adds a bit of strength and adhesion when it's applied to wire connections. It goes on tight and seems to want to stick. Ideal Wire makes this in a wide variety of colors, so you can pick up a few and color code the connections you're making if you need to.

This is not your daddy's gooey, gross, old electrical tape. Ideal makes some of the best electrical consumables and this wire armor tape is no exception. The vinyl itself is thick enough that it doesn't get twisted and perforated when you are trying to use it. At the same time it has the perfect amount of stretch so you can get a real good wrap with it.

Having used many electrical tapes over the years, this one is among the better choices. It is very flexible, stretchable and tear neatly when needed. Attached are pictures of two different applications, the first is a simple wire nut wrap which is very neat when completed. The second is a repair of a broken power plug cable where the reinforcement at the handle had to be split to replace the broken wire inside, then the tape wrap applied to hold it all in place and when finished, looked very much like nothing had ever broken.

This is the more useful product for any electric work. 3/4" wide is a good dimension for insulation the electric weir. So I always like electric tape available in home for my DIY electric work. The vinyl tape is enough stronger ans wider enough to handle my work. The adhesive quality is good. The tape is durable and use as good quality of insulation.

This is a big box of tape. Per roll the price is pretty good. Electrical tape doesn't just come in black. Using different colors is easy to see and helpful for tracking which wire goes where. My only suggestion would be to have a 10 pack of different colors of tape. 10 rolls of any one color will last me a life time. Also handy for kids craft projects. This is a big box of tape. Per roll the price is pretty good. Electrical tape doesn't just come in black. Using different colors is easy to see and helpful for tracking which wire goes where. My only suggestion would be to have a 10 pack of different colors of tape. 10 rolls of any one color will last me a life time. Also handy for kids craft projects. This tape appears to be a lower cost alternative to Scotch Super 33+. It is 0.007 in. thick with a 105C temperature rating. The only readily observable difference between this and the Scotch tape is the surface finish of the tape. This tape is rougher in appearance than the Scotch tape. See the photo. Otherwise the tape feels and handles similarly to the Scotch product. It stretches and conforms enough without yielding or tearing, and it adheres well to itself and other surfaces. For me, this tape is suitable for indoor or enclosed applications. For outdoor or exposed applications I prefer 0.0085 thick tape such as Scotch Super 88.

This is a premium vinyl electrical tape for insulating wire connections. It has stretch strength with high elasticity and is flame retardant. It is also impervious to water, oil, acids, alkalis and a wide variety of corrosive chemicals. This brown vinyl electrical tape is great for insulating electrical splices up to 600-Volt. The package includes ten roles, so I will probably have enough to last a lifetime.

The first thing I noticed about this electrical tape was the container it came in. It wasn't just a roll shrink wrapped and attached to a piece of cardboard. It actually came in a plastic container with a lid. Great for storing it ! I can't tell you how many times my husband has thrown a roll of electrical tape into a toolbox or drawer and eventually it gets dinged up and sort of gross. Not with this product. The container is a perfect solution. The level of adhesion is great. My husband used it for connecting wire for a dog border fence which will be underground. The stretch factor was perfect and made a good seal. It stuck to itself, but not to his fingers. It was very pliable and made a water proof seal. We know this because it rained as soon as we finished, the connection had not been buried yet, but the border fence did not short out. Highly recommended!

As you can see in the photos, the "other guys" tape does hold up to the test. This stuff does. The big difference I found right off the bat. The lesser tapes when you wrap something you just pull to break it off. Instead with this you have to cut it, it doesn't just break. Very solid and sticky. Holds and seals real well. Especially in tough service like an extension cord used with a trimmer. It holds and seals.

This is an exceptional product. It is multi-functional, stretches to extremes an is VERY sticky. One thing to note is not to try to rip it like conventional electrical tape. It is premium and it means it. It will not tear. You must cut it. That said, it will stretch around anything, even to repair a thin power cord and stays put. Completely waterproof once applied. No worries about this stuff. It does the job.

The Ideal Wire Armor tape is strong but still easy to rip off without a knife. I found it easy to stretch to make a smooth joint or for wrapping tools and other material. I use a lot of tape for holiday decorations and it does not last in the weather. I will have to give this tape a weather trial to see if it will outperform my current brand. I tested black, the most common tape. This is essential for any electrical application but can also be used for various craft projects or for repairs.

Ideal Wire Armour Premium Vinyl Electrical Tape seems to me, to be as good as any I have tried. It is rated from -18 degrees C to 105 degrees C and worked well for me after letting it spend the night in my freezer at 0 F (-18C) and then sticking it in the oven to bake at 175F (80C). It has about the same stretch as other top of the line tape and made a nice wrap on some 2/0 as well as 12 gauge and wire nuts.. It is a little less expensive than 33+. For that reason, I'm willing to give it a chance.

Ideal Wire Armour Contractor Pro Vinyl Electrical Tape is a medium grade tape but I found it to be very good for my needs. It is rated from -10 degrees C to 105 degrees C but worked well after letting it spend the night in my freezer at 0 F (-18C) and then sticking it in the oven to bake at 175F (80C). It does have a little less stretch than the top of the line tape but still made a nice wrap on some 2/0. It is enough less expensive than the top of the line stuff, that I'm willing to give it a chance.
