I purchased this mower at the start of the summer. My initial thoughts were great product for a great price (before my first use). Once I used it I was a little upset in the quality of the setup. Don't let this deter you from purchasing one though because once I got everything adjusted properly its the best mower I've ever owned. I also love the flip up deck spindle covers allowing any clippings and debris to be blown out with a compressor or leaf blower! No more getting the tool kit out to remove the covers. One of the main issues I ran into was that one of the hydro transmissions couldn't keep up in reverse causing it to spin in circles while mowing in reverse (Forward worked great and tracked perfectly). I opted not want to take it back to my Deere dealer primarily because it's an hour drive for me. I watched a few youtube videos on the tracking system for similar models and got it perfect. Leveling the deck only took me a few minutes because I've done this before on many mowers past. I did purchase the lawn striping kit (with brushes) to get a similar cut style to my old toro mower. (It did a great job striping without a kit). This made a heck of a difference in the quality of the cut.

This is the very first zero turn lawn tractor I ever owned. Took me about five minutes to learn how to steer it. Owning 2 1/2 acres of land to mow it cut my time down by at least 45 minutes less. Runs great with plenty of power and speed I can say I’m very pleased at this point! Don’t know why I waited so long.

This is my first zero turn mower and I have had my Z375R for a year now. I mow 1.5 acres. I started out mowing by side discharge and loved the cut quality and overall feel of the mower's operation. After a few cuts of the lawn, I decided to have the mulching kit put on. Mistake. The mower went from a smooth, fun mowing experience to almost loathing getting on the mower. I mowed with the mulching kit on last year from May-Nov. The mulch kit did a great job if you mowed at about a walking pace. Any faster and you would be forced to re-cut to get rid of the clippings lines. This year, I took the mulch kit off and I am back loving my mower again. Some other gripes besides the mulch kit... The low fuel light is pretty much useless. As stated in another review, it would be better to have a gauge. The only time I've noticed the light is when the engine shuts off and I look down to find out why. Also, I gave a 4/5 for Ease of Use because the mower never starts up on the first crank. In cooler weather, I have to stand behind the engine and hold the choke lever while turning the key to get the engine to start. Not sure if I would recommend the mower to anyone. If you're looking for mowers, I would definitely request a demo of some other models.

I did some reading of reviews on the 42” model. I think it was about $2600. I was thinking Zero turn for $2600 sounded pretty good. I was using a 20” self propelled walk behind Honda. Was going to replace it, used it for 13 years. The cost to replace it is $600. Knee pain was saying get the Zero! So after reading reviews on the 42”, a lot of the reviews stated it was tough to get close to beds and things because the rear wheels were the same width as the 42” deck. Most wished they had gotten the 48” with a wider deck. That sold me on the 48” instead of the 42”. There are three versions of the 48”. Z 355 E, basic. Z 355 M, some upgrades. Z 355 R, maxed out. The $200 difference in the E and the R, the R will get you a foot pedal deck lift, ergonomic handles, taller seat with armrest, floor mats, larger front and rear tires! No brained for me! I had the mulch kit with on-off lever, $168 added. I would like to mow the lawn now before it needs it again! Had I payed a lawn service because of my knee, they would have used a Zero turn as well for $50-$60 a pop. I have mowed three times this 2018 season, Bermuda, so that is $150 so far that I deduct from the cost of the mower! I deduct $50 each time i mow. Highly, highly recommend the Z 355 R! Get the upgrades!

I love to garden and own two acres with many trees and a big barn that I've maintained for years. I bought a new Z375 a few weeks ago and WOW! This mower is great! It is powerful, fast, efficient and what previously took me 6 hours to cut took me only 2 1/2 hours. The steering took me a few minutes to get use to but once I got it I could really get the job done quickly. I'm planning on purchasing the material collector to help with fall leaves. Hugo from Stotz delivered great white glove service showing me features and making sure I new how to handle the unit before he left.

Garage kept and regularly maintained but now cant keep it running. It just chokes down and cuts off. So much for this being a hassle free mower. New plugs, fuel and filters but still a $4000 yard ornament.

I purchased a new home on a one acre lot and I can't do without this mower. 1 hr and everything is mowed, mulched and I have not even broken a sweat. Really fast, easy to use and operate machine. A+ for John Deer on this maching.

First mowing and it had to go to the shop. Bumped a stump and bent the deck enough to shred the mulching kit and prevent the blade from spinning. It wasn’t even a strong bump. Ever since I got it back it cuts completely unevenly. Also while mowing I have to keep one arm about 50-70% back or it turns in a gentle arc instead of going straight. Also, ever since they repaired the deck it’s extremely loud as the blade now constantly makes slight contact with the deck.

Mower does great job..cut my .owing time from 8 hours down to little over 2 hours

I bought this a couple of months ago and the drought limited the times we have used it. My wife does the riding mower mowing and she loves it. We mow 2 1/2 acres and this mower is more than adequate.

this is my first zero turn mower.Now I wonder what took so long to change over,I love this one.It cuts my grass in half the time,don't jam in the shoot like my other one would,and it's fun to operate. Couldn't ask for a better piece of equipment.

Okay - I am not a professional by any means but do have a large yard! I bought the John Deere zero-turn mower with hopes of completing the arduous task of mowing a lot faster. I have to say that thus far it has done exactly what I wanted it to do, including making mowing a little fun!

Bought mower new at Home Depot 3 weeks ago. CUTS LIKE CRAP OUT OF THE BOX. On checking I found the blades were 1" out of level. Not sure if Home Depot or the JD dealer - TRI GREEN EQUIPMENT in MURFREESBORO, TN should have done set-up but at this price it should be set-up when delivered. Not very happy and definitely do not recommend this mower because of the time and energy I had to waste correcting set-up. It may be wonderful now, don't know as I haven't mowed since FIXING BRAND NEW MOWER

I bought a Z375R a month ago. I have 2 acres that I mow that is pretty hilly. The mower is great and had sped up my time mowing by quite a bit. There are two improvements that I feel are needed or in the case of tires should at least be an option. The turf tires that come with the mower are next to worthless when it comes to hills, I changed mine to MARASTAR 20808-TO Turf Traction and now the mower is really great. The other thing is why would anyone think putting a light on the side of the mower where you never look (while mowing) for fuel warning would ever be a good idea? To avoid running out somewhere on the property I always fill it up before I start. One last thing that I believe should come with the mower that you have to buy separately is there is no tow hitch... Apart from the tires, gas gauge and tow hitch (or lack of one) I love everything else about the mower and would recommend it to anyone with a larger property to mow.

Cuts awesome and what used to take me 2 hours to cut now takes 30 minutes

Owned since 2019, and used to maintain 3 acres of grass. Good power. Cuts nice. At least 50 hours because that's when the gauge stopped working... About this time it suffered a power loss: it would almost stall when engaging blades. Replaced plugs, filters, etc., but had to put it in a shop. They replaced the ignition coils and that resolved the issue. The main problem is that the mower shreds a belt once or twice a year so I'll be looking to replace it with a different brand.

This mower has been great for mowing my large (5 acre) yard. My only disappointment is that the gas tank is too small. If it were double the size it would be a perfect mower.

Great mower at a great price. Mows nice and operates smoothly only downfall is fuel tank size.

I have three acres and have never owned a zero turn. This mower has a learning curve for a total novice but is very forgiving, durable, and reliable.

Cuts my cut time from 3 hours to just over an hour
