Very easy to assemble and install.

Easy to assemble. Worked great! Would highly recommend if you need a pocket door.

Easy to install, and with the easy open and easy close hardware added smooth operation in both directions. Getting the heavy door hooked into the track rollers was very difficult for me.

We considered standard pocket door framing but Johnson was recommended. It is a lot more substantial with metal framing than the poor quality wood frames we looked at. Easy to install. We are very happy with product.

Product seems well made and went together pretty easy. I will know more one I have the door actually in the track.

Great options to fine tune the installation.

Would give 5 star except one of the split studs contained wood that was considerably sub-grade, and right at the end that needs attachment to the top rail. I would attach a photo here if I could. Quality control should have caught this. I am awaiting response from JH.

My contractor said it was poorly designed and the split stud enclosed in metal were junk with knotholes throughout.

Very easy to install and the metal backing the wood served the dual purpose of reinforcing the wall and preventing screws from accidentally penetrating into the door pocket.

I really like the finally finished product. My 36” door glides smoothly and flawlessly, so I'm very, very happy with it. I called the company. They have excellent customer service and answer all questions patiently and thoroughly. As far as installation, if I installed 5 in a row, I would say it's an easy installation, but for installing only one, there is a steep learning curve. Watch the Youtube video. The written instructions and mediocre illustrations would take forever to interpret for a one time installation. I used screws and drilled pilot holes where the video said to use nails. The video didn't show anyone nailing through the metal which would be required on the uprights. I couldn't see trying to nail through metal, so I called the company. The rep said of course you can use screws. I'm wondering why the instructions would say to use nails. There are some screws supplied, but it's hard if not impossible to tell which size screw to use where. All that said, if you're an experienced do-it-yourselfer, you can figure it out. If you're a novice, pay someone to install it.

Installed easy into a new wall being built. Watching the videos helped. Great kit. Makes the idea of having a pocket door in the house an easy reality.

Could use some finishing hardware or some examples what to use at the door pocket to make a more finished look. The door guides were a waste I made my own.

This is a better, more sturdy door frame. Ordering on line from Home Depot is easy and for this product it is necessary because of the odd size. I had it in 2 days

The Johnson door seems well built. Once the framing is in place, the installation is very straightforward.

Easy to install

After looking at other pocket door assemblies and how flimsy they felt. I did the research and decided to use the Johnson Hardware. It looks intimidating but their installation video made the project very doable. Without the demo work of the existing wall the installation took about 2 hours.
