Hi HomeDepotCustomer, this is Sarah with Kohler Co. I'm sorry to hear your showerhead is turning on before you raise the diverter. If this is a new installation, this may indicate the wrong piping was used from the bottom port of the valve, down to the spout. This piping must be copper. Brand New, Leaks immediately
Replaced my old tub spout of the exact same model.
Replaced my old tub spout of the exact same model.
This new one leaks almost the same amount as the one I just replaced. For the price I expected at least a working product. Seems like Kohler is just an overpriced brand pretending to be luxury.
Save yourself some money and just get a cheaper brand for the same thing.

If this is a new installation, we suggest checking to ensure copper tubing was used from the valve, down to the bath spout. If this has PVC, PEX or any other type of piping in this area, it can cause a back flow and dripping/leaking from the bath spout. Used the polished brass spout with the adapter from an...
Used the polished brass spout with the adapter from an old forte spout. Kohler discontinued the polished brass in that model. Forte stubbed our at 4 1/2 inches and coralais at 4 inches. Luckily the old spout came with the adapter that was still in good repair. Dough tees don’t understand the tube spout is not a place to support and shave your legs. Broke it right off. At least I didn’t need a plumber.

Look cheap materials, and it doesn't work 100%. There are still some water dripping down when pulling the spout all the way up. However, it works better than the older one which had wasted 50% of water running down the drain, causing me to buy new one to replace it. Kohler needs to keep up for a better material and a better functional product.

This was my first plumbing project and it was a pretty easy spout install. This has a plastic insert that you slide over the pvc pipe and then tighten with an Allen wrench or hex key. Spout isn’t leaking so all is good and I’m very happy with the polished brass.
