    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had the same microwave as the one I just purchased and the led's (numbers) work sometime and at other time did not work. Even the start button sometime would not work. Now you ask why would i purchase another one just like it. Because it is built in and fits the framing around it. If it where not for that i would have looked elsewhere. Besides i could get NO help from kitchenAid. I really don't expect to here from the company as my problem is probably to small for you to respond

        I have had 2 of this model go bad
        I have had my second KitchenAid of this model go out. My first on quit about 2 years after we bought it. I was able to replace it with the same model and it lasted 1yr 8 months. Not very well made. No warranty when they go out, and they are expensive.

          I miss some of the old programs
          [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The program I miss the most is the Rice program. It made the best rice and the least complications. Other than that this microwave works just fine. I hope it lasts as long as my previous one, 23 years.

            Upgraded to this microwave - not worth the cost
            We purchased our house in 2019 and paid for upgraded Kitchen-Aid appliances. The door button broke after one year and as you know no parts available for counter top microwave. Now it has completely quit working won't heat anything. Very disappointed in Kitchen-Aid for selling this microwave at such a high cost when it is made so cheaply.

                    Third microwave oven in ten years
                    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a manufacturer’s replacement after my “eight month old” microwave oven door (push button) opener broke. It took a month to get replacement approved by KitchenAid. Don’t know how long these buttons should last, but it’s the third microwave I’ve purchased from kitchenAid in ten years.

                      [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this microwave for the size. It had to fit into an opening in existing cabinetry. There were not a lot of choices. It was very expensive compared to most microwave ovens available. It works but my biggest complaint is the control panel. The buttons are very hard to push. If you don't have the oven anchored you push the oven out of place every time you used the buttons. It would have been nice to have a 1 minute button. Most ovens have one. None of the speed buttons are of any use to me so I have the key in the time each time I use it.

                        Issues started at 2 years, useless at 3.5yrs
                        Came with our new build house. Display started omitting parts of numbers at around 2 years. We just dealt with it even though I hated it. Then today (3.5yrs old) the start button stopped working along with a few other buttons on the touchpad. I’ve never had an issue with a microwave and this is the most expensive one we’ve owned. Junk. Read all the 1-star reviews. The same issues keep happening.

                          A piece of junk, had issue three times in six year
                          I thought Kitchenaid is a premium brand which makes great quality products, because their blender and mixer are very good. So I bought all KitchenAid when I renovated my kitchen. From hood, gas range, microwave, over, dishwasher and refrigerator. Multiple issues happened for multiple appliances. Here I just talk about this Microwave. After a couple of years, there was a loud noice when using this microwave, so I replaced it. Then the door opener is broken, I could not open the door, which I never experienced in my life for a microwave. I bought the part to fix it. Today when my daughter was reheating a dish, it just stopped working. I wanted all appliances in the kitchen to be the same brand, so I always replaced the ones with issues with same kitchenAid. Enough is enough, I will replace this microwave with another brand, and gradually replace all the kitchenAid in the kitchen. I will never ever buy any KitchenAid Appliances.

                            Looks great, just doesn't last
                            I bought this microwave a few years ago and would expect more from a microwave that cost this much. The reason I chose this microwave is because it fit in the space we have. After about 4 years use, the microwave isn't functioning as it should. I've also had problems where the buttons are starting to peel. very disappointed with this microwave.

                                Seems poorly made

It seems to work well but the door is very "tinny", seems thin and inexpensively made and does not seem to fit will. Also the latch seems "plastic" and also dos nit seem to fit well. The door and latch in the old model seemed much more solid and the fit was better

                                    My wife and I bought this and it lasted less than 3 years. Buttons stopped working and display clock had lights stop working. I contacted kitchen aid and they told me to trash it because it was not cost effect to repair. They did not even offer to inspect it first. Consumer reports says the “average” microwave is expected to last 9 years. Poor performance with even worse customer support.

                                        Replacing old Kitchenaide Microwave
                                        [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this as a replacement for previously owned Kitchenaid microwave, model KCMS145JSS-1. The old model had door latch mechanism break, and replaced due to rust development and paint loss at turntable. (Made in Korea) I do like the fit and finish of the new model, however the control panel menu of the older model was superior to the new model. For instance, there is limited pre-programmed buttons (i.e. bacon settings). Made in China.

                                                  Issues From the Start
                                                  We seemingly had issues from the start and our installer (large corporation) said there was nothing they could do about it. But in a nutshell, the digital numbers never worked, and that was livable. But when the buttons began no longer working, especially the start button, that makes for a non operable microwave. We have reset breaker, unplugged, etc, but nothing seems to work. We have had this microwave for 3-4 years now and I should have returned it from the start. Nothing fancy except we had it built in, but I will not be buying another one.
