The coffee grinder works great. It grinds the beans in exactly the time noted in the instructions for each coarseness.

I’ve had this coffee grinder for a couple years now. It looks nice, but there are many issues with it. First, it doesn’t grind evenly. I end up with a mix of very coarse, coarse, some medium, then finely ground trapped under the grind blade. I’ve found it helps to shake the grinder back and forth across the counter as I’m grinding, but it’s pretty stupid to have to do that. Secondly, it’s extremely messy. The grounds are flung up over the edge of the grinding cup and go all over the counter and underneath the grinding cup into the base. It doesn’t matter if you grind a small amount or the maximum amount, grounds will go everywhere. Thirdly, the top edge of the metal grinding cup is a bit sharp.

It grinds very coarsely. Disappointed as I bought this grinder to grind spices. I thought the 3.5 oz jar would be better than using the ones that have the jar attached.

We love KitchenAid products because I know how well they are. This grinder was a bit confusing (never had one before) but figured it out real quick. Had to make sure all parts were properly fit, then worked like a charm. Loading was easy but you need to grind on the higher amount or the grounds end up somehow underneath the removable cup. Love the part that this can be removed for easy cleaning and not risking of getting the motor wet and not being cleaned properly. So now I just grind way to much coffee instead of for two cups for a much more richer flavor. So when my grinding is done—fine is compacted around the blade while the coarse grind is on top—hard to make it a little finer.

This was my husband's Christmas gift. He loves it. He loves his coffee and he uses it all the time. Thank you so much. I appreciate it.

The negative reviews regarding uniformity of the grind, as well as my own personal experience, prompted me to look into the design itself. There is one blade design feature that is the root of the performance problem which would be a relatively easy fix at the factory but not one easily implemented by the consumer. I'll be happy to share the details with KitchenAid if they are interested in improving customer satisfaction with this product.

Works fine, button on top is a little awkward. I have gotten use to it now.

No matter how hard I push on the top it spills grinds under the removable cup and onto the counter. On top of that all the grounds under the blade turn into a fine dust that gets stuck in the cup while the rest of the grounds are varying degrees of too large. No amount of grinding produces even remotely consistent grounds. I've used 20+ year old Mr. Coffee grinders that do a far better job.

The seal isn’t tight so whatever I’m grinding goes everywhere and it doesn’t grind my spices all the way either. Not happy with this purchase.

Of course in this time of COVID nothing is returnable so I bought this grinder. It worked just fine making those beans into usable ground coffee. Now we can make coffee in our French press with freshly ground coffee beans anytime we please.

Works great and the spice attachment works perfectly!

Get the job done ok. Doesn't blend evenly.

I bought this coffee grinder despite the consistent same low rating reviews across multiple sites. It’s a beautiful empire red, sleek and classy alongside my four empire red appliances. However, with that said... Here is the list of the problems I encountered: 1) Grinding starts when you secure the lid and press down on it. However, 4 out of 5 times nothing happens when pressing down on the secured lid. 2) While grinding the powder flew out of the metal grinding container and into the plastic workings surrounding it. (Very hard to remove and you waste too much of your spice or coffee). This is a pain to clean up as you have to blow it out since the base can't be submerged in water. 3) It does not grind evenly with spices or coffee. With coffee and spices, you will have at least 3 different sizes: fine powder so fine it will clump together, coarse powder (or grounds) and big chunks. I returned this immediately and went back to the $13 one I bought out of my local grocery store that works a lot better and quicker than this Kitchen aid product.

A GREAT BUY JUST LOVE THIS COFFEE GRINDER.

A very durable unit, much better than expected for the price, and a step up from the average you find at a department store or discount store. You need to grind the beans for a good 30 seconds but its very sturdy and does the job. Also like the removable metal cup where the beans are ground - makes removing the grounds and cleaning easy.

Spells coffee everywhere and outside while grinding...not tight and mess the countertop of whatever you grind in it. Agent kept pushing me to finish the call and she said this is the first time she know about the issue and I pointed out reviews on the website That many people had that issue but she did not care as much

This device is not premium and does not look designed by such company. Many problems with it from the bowls and lid to the motor base.

It looks nice. It is a good grinder! If the inside had been polished more, the grounds wouldn't stick to the sides so much. That is our only complaint. But, for the great price, we just have a brush we use to sweep out the remaining grounds, which is about 25% of the total.

The beautiful red colour perfectly complements my red KitchenAid toaster, kettle etc. Most importantly, it works like a charm! I like that the canister is removable. Grinds perfectly and super easy to clean up.

I was very surprised that this was a Kitchen Aid product. It did not grind the beans fine enough, and the grounded coffee spills out over the top of the canister. Terrible performance for such a simple piece of equipment.

I got this because of cost, color, capacity, and the well known brand. The capacity does appear anymore than other 4oz grinders, and despite it being a kitchenaid seems to lack power. You get what you pay for.
