The remover may need a little help by scratching the surface with some coarse sandpaper to give the remover some spots to attack, then covering the remover with a heavy plastic drop cloth or other plastic sheeting (even a trash bag will help). Let the remover have plenty of time to work. If the stripper is drying or getting gummy before it works, you may not be applying a thick enough layer of stripper. In order to really soften and liquify a paint, the remover will need to be several times thicker than the paint film, so put on a thick layer. Remove stripper from surface with plastic scraper or brush. Also, keep in mind that the speed in which the remover works can be affected by the surface condition and the number layers of paint previously applied.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. This product should be applied in a thick coat with a paint brush to a small area (up to 3 ft x 3 ft). Leave the area and let the remover do the work. Wait 15 minutes to scrape a small test area to see if finish is ready for removal. Gently scrape in direction of wood grain with a plastic stripping tool to remove. Multiple coats or stubborn finishes may require repeat applications. Use a clean abrasive pad dipped in After Wash or Odorless Mineral Spirits to loosen remaining finish and remove any residue. Surface should be completely clean and dry before applying new finish. If using indoors, open all windows and doors and maintain a cross ventilation of moving fresh air across the work area.
