We always seem to be refinishing an older piece of furniture, so we are constantly on the lookout for reliable products to make this chore easier. We came across this 'Klean Strip Premium Stripper' and it has been a terrific find that performs as well or better than promised. We are enclosing some pictures of a two piece china cabinet that my wife has been working on so you can hopefully get an idea of the result. The bottom piece is done and the top is a work in progress as you can see. Do remember to scrape with the grain for best results!

This is an excellent paint stripper. I was refinishing a small table made out of chestnut that my father built in his high school shop class in 1936. The original finish had turned almost black over the years so I had no idea what to expect when I removed it. I applied the stripper per the instructions and used a plastic putty knife to scrape the residue off once it bubbled up. It did take several applications but eventually all the original finish came off. I have used other paint strippers in the past and none have worked as well, or as quickly as this one.

KLEEN STRIP PREMIUM STRIPPER IS A VERY GOOD AND RELIABLE PRODUCT. I HAVE USED THIS STRIPPER FOR MANY YEARS HAVING HAD AN ANTIQUE STORE BUSINESS. ITS BEEN USED ON ITEMS THAT HAD PAINT,VARNISH, GRIME AND WITH PROPER APPLICATION ALWAYS DID WHAT WAS NEEDED. THIS IS A PRODUCT DESIGNED TO REMOVE HARD FINISHES SO IT NEEDS TO BE USED SAFELY. IF YOU USE THIS PRODUCT LIKE IT DESIGNED YOU WILL HAVE GREAT RESULTS. ALWAYS WEAR EYE PROTECTION AND THE PROPER GLOVES AND KEEP AWAY FROM ANY HEAT SOURCE. I LIKE TO POUR SOME IN A BUCKET OR GLASS JAR AND USE A CHEAP BRUSH TO APPLY TO WOOD SURFACE. WHEN YOU SEE PAINT BUBBLING UP OR VARNISH GETTING RUNNY THEN TAKE YOUR PUDDY KNIFE AND START REMOVING.

This works, but only about as good as any other brushable stripper. It took 2-3 coats to completely remove a thick coat of black paint on steel pipe. Yes, it says 15 minutes, but that's for latex/acrylic/water-based paints. I don't think it's the best value either; much better to go with a gallon IF you can use it all; this size offers you the ability to use as much as you need. The spout is easy to open and not messy to pour.

Klean-Strip Premium Stripper 1 qt. I love going to flea markets and finding old items that I can repurpose into a new usable item with greater design and interest than you can find in a new one at the store! This Klean-Strip product takes the chore of taking off old paint from nightmare, to pleasant dream! Years ago I remember strippers giving off such a deadly odor, my lungs could hardly get through stripping an item, even outdoors, and with a mask. This newer formula is much kinder to my lungs, but still potentially destructive, while doing its work. Before using it on a piece of furniture we gave it a test, after carefully reading the instructions of course. We found two old pieces of wood covered in white paint, and working outside spread the stripper. The small wood piece was scraped after only 5 min., while we waited the full 15 min. on the long section of wood. In both cases, we were more than happy with the results! I highly recommend this superior product!

Paint stripper Very good product to use on getting off multi paint layers of major amount of paint off the item. You use very much like a paint, brush it on wait 15 minutes scrape and if need it repeat. I used old socks and found they worked well. I also purchased a chemical resistant rubber gloves. I use this product on electrical box cower that previous owner paint so many time that door didn’t want to close. Since this is an apartment the cower head at least 15 layers of paint and I have to do two time and it went all the way to the bare metal. I wipe the metal with acetone and use the grey spray paint and it looks like new.

I like to try to restore things other people have screwed up trying to restore, so stripping off old finishes and paint is a ongoing thing. When I got this product to try, I had two projects in my shop, one a chair with a very heavy coat of varnish, I am guessing Polyurethane. The other an old chest with multiple layers of paint. First chemical strippers will seldom do all the work for you, so don't think you are going to slap on a coat of this and 15 mins later be looking at bare wood, but what it does do it remove thick layers and loosens up coats. This product did as well as any I have tried and better and faster than a lot of the products out there. It did do a bit better with the paint than the varnish, but I am pretty happy how it worked on both.

This is thick high quality paint remover. I tested this on our old steel door, where I used a thick coated, the paint removed very easily after just 5 minutes. The door was sitting directly in the sun so the paint remover dried too fast, the sections that dried did not remove very easily as you can see in the pictures. Lesson learned is to ensure you apply the paint remover thick and tried not to be in the direct south Texas sun. I tried it on stained old wood, did not remove with a towel, you would need to use a wire brush. One last tip, this has a very strong odor and must be used outside or in a very ventilated area. Would recommend this paint remover.

This product works just like the old formula. Do not however use their Kwik Strip stripper, it will soak into the wood (if you're stripping wood) and cause shredding and pilling.

It removes loose paint chips easily, but not the entire surface. If the previous paint is stuck well, try pressure washer or sanding. Don’t waste your time or money with this material.

I had no luck using this product. I removed my exterior door to repaint the exterior face only. I used the entire 1 quart can to coat the front panel. Even after letting the material set for over an hour (the directions say only 15 minutes) I got two small areas the size of a dime to blister properly. I do not recommend this product.

Expensive but a great product for small jobs. I was surprised at how well it worked. Recommeded.

Used to strip paint on deck boards. Put it on thick and wait more than the 15mins. Had to do twice or three times in some spots but the stuff works.

Not as effective as the old formulation. Required multiple aplications.

This product was used as directed! It was not effective. Very disappointed.
