We bought the smart code 270 which apparently you need the key to the bottom of the Smithsonian archives to access any information on it. The website says absolutely nothing about it and when you go to “program” it all it does is blink red as soon as you hit the check mark in the order in which the guide book says to…. I will never buy one of these again.

Someone already reviewed this product for poor battery performance and I couldn't agree more. I ended up buying another one and replacing the original one thinking I just got a bad one. Boy, was I wrong ... returning the 2nd one also. Not sure how others are not experiencing the same issue. It has to do with their wi-fi connection that must drain the batteries quickly. On top of that, when the lock is in operation, locking or un-locking, it sounds like it's struggling and it will die anytime.

I like the lock and like the ability to remotely lock and unlock it. I have San Clemente matte black with square Halifax handles. I like the fingerprint so no key necessary. I. had several issues needing to use customer service at Kwikset and they were very helpful and shipped parts. I used the app to walk through the fingerprint and WiFi programming and that wasn’t too hard either. Overall, I like it very much. Be careful removing the interior side plastic cover for programming so you don’t scratch the finish; Use a fingernail and not a screwdriver. Now the hardest part is refinishing the door due to the different footprint of the locket compared to the old one.

I purchased this deadbolt to replace a Yale preexisting deadbolt. Unfortunately I should have not wasted my time. During the install the unlocking mechanism broke off just installing. This is probably the 50th deadbolt I have installed in my life I’m no expert by any means.I'm sorry but if the mechanism that connects to the inside deadbolt is that flimsy it’s a safety concern in my eyes. I would not recommend anybody buying this unless you want an easy break inn.

Should have purchased these years ago. Easy to install. Put one on both front and back doors. Easy to set codes. You can set many codes. Nice not to have to use your keys to open the door.

Installation was straight forward. This was a replacement so no drilling needed. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Matched my existing door handle perfectly, and the SmartCode allowed me to match up with the other door locks already installed.

Looks great, very easy to install. Uses an app to set codes. Would highly recommend.

This lock was easy to install if you follow the instructions. The lock fit my existing hole in the door from the previous lock so that helped. It is a standard size lock so as long as you have a standard lock in you door now this one will work well. The lock was easy to program and locks and unlocks smoothly. I would recommend this product.

Great for the Tech Nerds. Fingerprint and app control. Easy to install with a Phillips head screwdriver. WiFi and Bluetooth. I was able to install without the manual. Be strike plate is a little larger and more heavy duty than the standard ones so it may require a little modification on the door frame. Everything else fit perfectly in place of existing hardware. No issues so far

Battery died without notice within two weeks of lock purchase. I was not able to use lock to enter my house. This product is not a good purchase

I originally purchased another lock but had to return it since even tech support couldn't resolve an issue. I should have purchased this one the first time. It was simply to install with easy to follow instructions, and the app makes it easy to add or remove codes.

The Halo Touch Fingerprint lock is very dependent on a lot of factors: perfectly alighted doors/frames, very stable wifi connection, never accidentally touch the fingerprint area with the wrong finger. If any of these factors failed, you will be changing batteries like very 4 weeks. We have 2 of this and I regret everyday for buying them. Now I have to spend another $400 replacing these useless and troublesome locks.

The package contained a defective part, so the lock would not work. This item was priviously returned but not inspected by HD. I bought the item from HD, yet is took Kwikset come to the rescue. And quick and professional they did. Not so much with HD. I have now installed the replacement item and this Kwikset item is HIGHLY recommended.

I started with KWIKSET SmartCode 260. Returned it for this one, because I wanted the Wi-Fi feature. Worked good for about a month. Now, it frequently looses the Wi-Fi connection and the battery life is less than 45%. I can only get it to reconnect to Wi-Fi by removing and reinstalling the batteries. This makes this deadbolt a pain in the butt. Should have kept the SmartCode 260.

- I chose the lock because of having key lock, key pad, mobile app and smart lock capability. - Overall build and material is good - Instructions and installation was straight-forward. - Mobile application isn't very good, and had problems which caused 2-3 reinstalls and accounts to be made before the lock was was properly acknowledged and associated with the house. What made this somewhat tolerable was the ability to reset back to factory settings each time. - Functionality is average. The lock also didn't perform auto-adjust to determine bolt depth into the door frame, causing a long loud beep and a "jammed" error in the mobile app. After 3-4 attempts of performing auto-adjust function, rather than go through the hassle of returning, getting another, or working with manufacturer, I simply drilled an extra 1/4" into door jam and resolved the problem.

I like that it’s set up to work with different style doors and different sized holes, that it can be rekeyed. I did have an issue rekeying it, followed instructions exactly and have done many in the past. But I called the customer service line and they were mostly helpful. Hung up with them and a few minutes later it was working fine. The app was great for setting up the Bluetooth and setting the code. Would definitely buy it again.

Do not spend your hard earned dollars on this lock. By 2 years the motor stops working. You call Kiwi 800 number and they will apologize that the motor stopped working and the lock is out of warranty. Just horrible not for over $200

Programming instructions are very easy to follow. Capability to easily change codes and provide temporary codes is great.

Each of the family member enjoyed the finger print process. The experience was wondeful when the lock was working. We even show off to our guests. Until it break down, drain battery. We had it installed twice. replaced by manuafature at one time. Now we took out of the battery and use it a manual lock. It is just an expensive toy. the prodouct is not for every one. It is just fancy.

this lock was easy to assemble but difficult to program. (instructions were poor) I called tech support and they were excellent. I had to do a software update on the lock which they talked me through and everything seems to be working great now.

I was skeptical that my hubby and I could install this lock, but we did it. The instructions were fantastic, easy to comprehend! Love my new lock!

I had a handyman install it because my fingers don’t always work the way I’d like them to but it looks beautiful installation was four out of five as far as complicated is concerned, and I love the bronze looks great with my black door

Just installed this lock today on a new door. It was simple and quick. The product is packaged to make the installation foolproof. They number small boxes of parts in the package to correspond to the install steps. Very clever. I have set up a fingerprint as well as the Google Home app and they're all talking to each other. The Kwikset shows you how to install, step by step and has other functions for ongoing management of the lodk. I have high hopes for our future together.

I installed this on my front door and have to say that I love how easy it was to install. Also it's very user friendly. However the most important is that I don't need a locksmith to change keys, it's patent design makes it easy to change the key tumbler to a different key. LOVE THIS PRODUCT

Followed instructions which came with the item and no further tools were needed other than a screwdriver. App was very helpful in setting an account, updating the firmware, and assigned a code to operate the lock utilizing Bluetooth.

Lock works very well!!

Its design looked nice but its functions are not too great. I had to have 3 locks replaced already with 2 years. It stopped working after replacing batteries 3rd time. Too much hassles to reprogram and resetting after new batteries that have short life span 3-4 months. Kwikset Customer Service was great and helpful but it is time consuming to replace the whole set 3rd time for front door; 2nd time to replace for garage door to reprogram and reset which i dud nit find amusing!

The Halo was easy to install! The instructions are very exact, plus you can view a video. The screws & parts are even in numbed boxes by steps! The only difficulty I had was mounting the backside, you need someone to help hold in place. Also the instructions, in connecting the key pad to interior half were very clear.The lock updated firmware- just be patient plus the app easily installed. I immediately programmed my door codes. So far seem like great investment & I highly recommend the Halo.
