This is a great addition to any home or shop and is certainly convenient in this day and time. I installed mine in my shop to easily charge some of the small tools like handheld power screwdrivers that charge via USB. The USB power charges phones or tools quickly. This outlet is larger than a standard outlet (depth-wise) and may not fit in shallow boxes or boxes that are crammed full of wire. It is hard to see in the photo but they also stick around a quarter of an inch from the outlet cover where a standard outlet is flush. It just looks a little different from say a GFCI or Decora outlet.

Perfect for kitchens, bedrooms, and home offices - or wherever you charge your phones, laptops, tablets etc. This outlet supports USB Type A charging cables. Type A USB cables are the ones you are already familiar with - they have a wider male end that plugs into a charger that is plugged into a wall outlet, and then the other end is specific to the device - USB, micro USB, Apple, Lightning etc. This is a simple install - just replace the old outlet with this new one. The back wire connectors are the ones I really, really like. You simply strip the wire and slip it under a small plate and tighten the screws - no back stabbing - no loops. These will fit a standard 3 x 2 x 2 1/2 inch box but depending on what is in your electrical box now, you might want to consider removing the existing box and replacing it with a deeper old work box. The outlet is really attractive especially when paired with the decora switch plates. Its even more attractive without chargers taking up all the space. Really is a pretty elegant solution. I will be installing these in a couple of places in the kitchen and in the home office. Anything that reduces cable clutter is a good thing in my book!

USB charging ports are a daily necessity that you can’t get enough of. I am trying to replace all receptacles located in living areas with this type of fixture. An issue that often presents itself is that the additional electronics make this type of fixture much more expensive and much larger. Expensive effects the pocket book where larger effects the installation. The additional circuity causes the fixture to barley fit in a standard 1 gang box. This product does a good job of making installation as easy as possible. There are only 2 connect posts, both on the left side of the fixture. At first glance it concerned me, because receptacles are commonly wired in parallel with 2 contacts for both common and hot leads. Once I got used to the idea the actual installation turned out to be an very easy. The fixture makes it easy to connect the 2 common leads and 2 hot leads to their respective posts. As with wiring any receptical you need to be careful to not get the wrong polarity. I liked the gray color. Please not in the photos that the fixture is mounted in a counter with a shiny chrome finish. Since they don’t make a chrome receptacle gray is the closes is closer to matching than anything else.

I got this to replace the white boring sockets that stand out like a sore thumb. This Leviton socket is gray in color and has 2 usb sockets as well as normal plug spaces.The socket blends into our gray wall, it is very practical and is very easy to install. The only downside with this socket and it doesn't matter who makes them is that they are a lot thicker than the average plug socket so bare that in mind when upgrading. There needs to be enough space for the wires. I have photos to show what I mean.

This is a great addition to your home or shop to add the flexibility and ease to charging your electronics easily. The device is stout and appears well built. The wiring attachments accept wrapping the wire around the screw or using a straight in clamp (my favorite). Both wire attachments are on the same side and each has space for 2 wires. The technology ports are USB A and USB C so it will accept a variety of cables.

This USB outlet works great. It looks so much better than having a bunch of plugs in the outlet. Very easy to replace the old outlet with this one.

I purchased several Leviton 20 amp combination US and regular outlets from home depot in the fall of last year. After less than 6 months of use, the USB portion of one of the outlets no longer works. I have checked the outlet with a outlet tester, and the regular portion works fine, but the USB portion does not. I also removed and checked the wires and connections, and all are as they should be. I conclude that there is something wrong with the manufacture of the USB portion of this outlet, because if failed in such a short time. I tried to submit a claim with Leviton's online quality concerns form, but it would not let me submit the form because I do not have a Leviton account number.

Ive installed 2 of these units there supper useful and ideal for kitchen counter outlet replacement.

Easy to install. Place in active occupied spaces for convenience such as kitchen when your cooking. Charges I phone quickly.

Even though it is listed as a 3.6 amp usb charger, it is not a high speed charger for my galaxy 6 phone. I was disappointed that this did not a smart charger and I would recommend that you look elsewhere because I think this will be obsolete in a few years. It works fine as a regular charger where outlets are limited and you don't want a bunch of bulky charging transformers plugged into your outlets.. It was a little hard to install because it is larger and deeper than a normal socket. This will not fit in a compact outlet box. After installation, it is sticking out about a 1/2 inch (see photo).

It was a tight fit into the outlet receptacle box, but once in everyone in the house loved it. Now I have to install more through the the house.

Installed easily and I like the fact that it has two outlets and two usb ports, unlike some other styles.

This is easy to replace your current outlets. And you can plug in any usb cord. Awesome

Worked perfectly, easy to install, and now I have a duplex USB in addition to my outlet for charging my phone and iPad.

I liked the fact that I still have the outlet plus the ports to charge my phone. Installation is the same as any out regular outlet.

Easy to install and very convenient

Love these, I've installed 6 so far in our house. No more issues with lost or missing charging cubes. I installed 2 by our couch (behind the couch) and have two 10' USB to lightning cables (with the option of adding 2 more), now the wife and kids aren't arguing about who took their chargers (now I need to add a USB to USB-C cable) for friends to use. We also use our iOS devices to control the A/V system, now we can sit down and plug in without cables, charges, extension cables all over the floor and couch...just the two draping over the back of the couch from the wall the the couch is against. I've also installed them in our home office areas and bedrooms. The vampire power or standby power usage (when not in use) should be less than the standard mobile phone charging brick / cube, thus reducing energy consumption.

Clean crisp looking easy to install

Got tired of extension cords everywhere and made a charging station at my desk. Worked great when I placed three receptacles into a three-gang box and fished the wire from the receptacle below up through the wall into the old-work box.

This outlet fits the bill for charging via USB cables. No more looking for apple 110v to 2.5v adapters. Plus this outlet charges your devises at 3.5v - faster full charge!

Easy to install and works like a charm.

I don’t know why I didn’t have a couple of these installed when we rewired the house a few years back but oh well. I ended up swapping out a standard outlet for this. It was simple for a novice such as myself to wire in. The only catch was a standard wall plate does not fir this as it needs to be a jumbo. It has worked great and now we can charge our USB devices and use the power at the same time. I also felt like the price was worth it.

Outlet works great. I have only had it for a week. The main feature I like is the USB port works to charge PS4 controllers. I tried a different brand prior, it would charge other devices like Iphone, but would not charge my ps4 controllers. It is a easy basic install. One of the features I did not care for that much was the outlet only had 3 connections for your hot, neutral, & ground wires. So far it has met my expectation.

The problem with this items is that it large and doesn't easily work with existing wiring. Most installation there is an income set of wires and an out going set (to next outlet). There is no easy way to connect the second set. Further because of its size it is not easy to place the receptacle back into the box. Although it maybe easier if the box you are installing it into is a double outlet.

Fits in normal box. Has slightly higher amp output than other similar products. Requires "Decora" type face plate. Only has screw down connections. Tight but easy install. One slight complaint: Very tight fit between USB ant the lower electrical outlet

Does just what it is designed to do. Would like to see a smaller depth profile as the box I installed it in had very little space, but I did manage to get it in.

Outlet was very high quality and works great. It was very easy to install and I continue to use it daily for all of my USB charging devices

It was so easy that I continued to put three more in my house.
