Most rods in the package work well, but many have cracks on the flux which impacts the way the rods burn and the weld. Not sure if this is a shipping or manufacturing issue.

Did the trick. I was welding an extension on a vertex marker (concrete stake). This rod worked well. I ran it at 135 amps. I did run a practice pass on some scrap steel.
