Very easy to use and works exactly as described. Please note that if the environment is cool too cold, it will take a bit longer to cure. I applied the foam board to a concrete foundation (internal) the wall I estimated at 40 degrees fahrenheit and while it set in roughly 30 minutes, it took four full days to get to a point that the adhesive was hard to the touch. Therefore, I suggest using a brace if you are in a similar situation.

Foam to Foam ?
The description says
"Loctite PL 300 is a latex-based adhesive especially designed for bonding polystyrene foam to itself "
But the comment responses from Loctite say the opposite and that one side must be porous.
Which is it ?

Response from Henkel CorporationJan 4, 2023
Thank you for the question. Loctite PL 300 Foamboard Construction Adhesive is a latex, water-based product. Although it will bond to foam materials it does require one bonding surface to be porous. This product will not properly bond foam to foam since they are non-porous substrates. Thank you for bringing this to our attention so we can work with the retailer to correct the information.

Locks Foam Board Perfectly
Locktite bonds foam board effortlessly. Be aware compete cure(dry) can be 24 to 48 hours and clamps help keep material together. Don't try wood glue as it never dries between the foam board sections.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Loctite PL300 Foamboard Construction Adhesive is a latex water based product and requires at least one bonding surface to be porous. This adhesive will not cure properly when bonding two non porous substrates.

Use more glue than recommended.
PL 300 is advertised as a foam board adhesive, used with stiff foam insulation panels, which come in 4'x8' sizes like drywall.
I used it to glue Durofoam stiff board insulation panels to our drywalled garage ceiling which is underneath our kitchen. The garage is unheated and the kitchen floor gets cold in the winter.
Step 2, I glued 4x8x1/2" ultralight drywall panels to the Durofoam, forming an insulation sandwich. This sandwich adds R17 of insulation to the floor of our kitchen, is essentially airtight and meets fire codes.
However, using the glue was problematic. It dries slowly and absolutely requires bracing during that time. They recommend bracing for 24 hours but I would give it double that.
Once set, the glue held the styrofoam to the drywall above it very well. But step 2, attaching 1/2" drywall to the foam was a different matter. I used ultralight drywall but I've found even that is too heavy if you follow the glue manufacturer's application directions. They suggest running a bead around the panel near the perimeter, then vertical strips every foot. I would suggest applying the strips every 6" to ensure adequate holding strength.
You will use about 1-1/2 to 2 large tubes (895 ml) per 4x8 panel.

Thank you for sharing a detailed review of LePage PL 300 Foamboard Adhesive. Cure time takes 24-48 hours or longer depending on temperature, humidity, porosity of surface bonded and amount of adhesive used.
