I personally did not pick out this particular toilet paper holder. I had my bathroom remodeled and I picked this item out of a catalog. It was installed by the person doing the remodeling and I did not notice it was not easy to put the toilet paper on. This was not Moen's fault. I should have gone to a store and selected the holder I liked the best.
I previously had a powder room remodeled and selected the model "Hensley" also made by Moen as the toilet paper holder and in my opinion that model is made better. I particularly liked the installation of the paper. It has a pivot rod that pops up and you put the paper on and it is a lot easier than the Brantford to use.
This is my opinion and maybe someone would like the Brantford model better.

Hello Reeniebeenie and thank you for the feedback you posted on the Home Depot website. The Moen Brantford Double Post Toilet Paper Holder in Brushed Nickel comes with a spring loaded paper roller. It sounds like you prefer paper holders with a pivoting arm for the ease of changing the rolls. Moen does manufacture/sell both styles of paper holder, spring loaded roller and pivoting arm and we also offer several models that have “open” ends. MOEN bath accessories have a beautiful finish. I don't care for the fact that the round towel bar spins within the end mounts, would prefer a stationary fit. Also, the plastic base locking device for the end mounts does not seem like a durable long lasting design, esp if you have need to remove the end cap mounts for any reason. Looks are great, design not what I expected in this price range.

Hello AHC and thank you for the feedback you posted on the Home Depot website. We will be happy to pass along your suggestion about the bar spinning in the mounting posts. The Moen Brantford 18 in. Towel Bar in Brushed Nickel uses our Pro+Fit installation system. Moen’s Pro+Fit installation system uses a single screw mounting system that uses pre-attached hollow wall anchors and doesn’t require a set-screw. To remove the decorative part of the paper holder, on the bottom side of the decorative post there is a square opening. Slide and press a small, flat bladed screw driver up into the opening; with your other hand you should be able to “rock/wiggle” the decorative parts away from the mounting hardware. We built a new home and I was surprised that they didn't give us towel rings for the bathrooms. When I found these were my brand and an exact match, I grabbed five of them! I usually hire people to install stuff like this but when I saw how easy it looked, I did it myself! Yes, me, a female! It was super easy, quick and they are so strong and stable even my husband will probably never pull them out of the wall! Strongly recommend!

The plastic brackets do not allow to tighten or loosen...
The plastic brackets do not allow to tighten or loosen the arms, so there can be some wobble, or the arm is not quite flush against the wall. This is in every way inferior to the traditional brackets using set screws.

The towel bar is very nice quality but it’s not...
The towel bar is very nice quality but it’s not stationary. The rod rolls when you put the towel on it. Not sure if it’s due to the product or the installer but it looks great.

They don't make them like they used to.
I bought this to replace an identical older Moen towel bar in a different finish. When I took the old one off and unpackaged the new one, the difference was shocking. The old one had a little cutout in the bar so it stayed stationary (didn't rotate) and it was an actual metal bar vs. a flimsy piece of plastic (or super thin metal). I had no issue installing though my wife and kid have both knocked it off the wall a couple of times which never happened with the old proper mounting using a set screw. Overall it looks nice enough and does the job but wow, cheap cheap quality.
