Customer Reviews for MOEN Preston 24 in. Double Towel Bar in Chrome

We have a small bathroom with little wall space for multiple towel rods. This double towel rod is perfect for the space. I was a little reluctant since I wasn't sure whether or not the towels would dry with the towels being so close to each other but so far they are working out great. The instructions provided, which included a sheet to place the towel rod, was an excellent tool to have and made installation easier. It fits one towel nicely on each rod.

Fitted over existing single bar, so I didn't need to drill any new holes. Looks great and is very functional.

It is described as “modern” but it fits well in a traditional/farmhouse style as well. Mounting instructions were easy to follow even though the instruction guide was for all lengths and styles of racks in this line. Once we marked the correct length, we were good to go.

Easy to assemble and looks great. Works for what I needed.

My Wife bought these. We were very disappointed in the quality of the design. The rack part that mounts to the bracket that mounts to the wall does not fit well. We had a hard time to get the rack to stay connected to the wall brackets. It is a design/manufacturing problem. We bought 3. Ended up with 2 mounted... and my wife destroyed the 3rd rack in frustration. I would never purchase this again. FYI: The template for the wall brackets was great. We got the Brackets in the correct place.

looked beautiful, easy to install

This was easy to install using the template provided. It does stick out from the wall pretty far, but easily holds two large towels, which is the main reason for purchasing it. The bars will rotate, but that isn't a problem. I have a chrome Moen Voss faucet, although a Voss double towel bar isn't available, so I chose a chrome Preston and it matches well. I would like it better if the height difference of the two bars was greater.

**Bar is able to hold two towels (with one caveat).** -DO NOT USE the toggle bolts (drywall fasteners) that came with this towel bar, if securing this bar to a dry wall. They will NOT hold and it is the reason for many bad reviews. Instead, purchase and use two or four 1/8 x 2 in. toggle bolts from home depot (Store SKU #125004). https://www.homedepot.com/p/1-8-in-x-2-in-Zinc-Plated-Toggle-Bolt-with-Mushroom-Head-Phillips-Drive-Screw-4-Pieces-803702/204273385 -For peace of mind, I used four (but you can use two) 1/8 x 2 in toggle bolts (Store SKU #125004) for to mount this bar onto drywall. -The holes in the mounting bracket are only wide enough to fit (at most) a 1/8 inch diameter toggle bolt (for drywall), or a #6 bolt or the bolts that came with the towel bar (for a wall stud). Other Important Notes: -Towel bar looks elegant and both bars seem sturdy. -Towel bar stays secured to the drywall with two wet towels (using four 1/8 x 2 in. toggle bolts purchased separately). -The towels bars are 2 inches apart from each other; however, it may or may not be enough separation (depending on your preference). Specifically, if using two fluffy towels (brand name like Calvin Klein), there will be a several square inches of contact between both towels. If using two thin towels, there may be a minor amount (less than a few square inches) of contact between both towels (unless you were to iron both thin towels flat [but impractical to do so]). -Chrome is a typical chrome finish, not nickel nor brushed. -The bars roll in their groove, thereby helping you pull the towel up and out of the bar. OVERALL: B+. Good towel bar. Seems sturdy. Could use more separation between both bars. Buy separate toggle bolts (mentioned above) if mounting to drywall. **Hope this information is useful to others**

Great product

Constantly falls off the wall. I have had the contractor put this up 4 times. Switching to another model. Love the look and wish I did not have to change it out.

Repeatedly fell off wall and was a waste of time and energy. Tried reinstalling from scratch with same results. Really disappointed - this shouldn't be possible, but that little screw that holds everything together is just not enough.
