So I'm a framer and sider. For some time I had been looking for a saw to perform a specific purpose...BETTER than the great corded skil worm drives we all relied on. Mainly cutting details, notches etc. in Fascia...Overhead, in awkward positions, often on a ladder using ONE HAND. Along those lines we ALL favored the left LOS as opposed to the conventional layout.This saw does it all. In addition, it FIRST DAY...it slid off the roof....BAAM! banged a bit of scaffolding to hit the AZ desert. Checked it for squareness and it was rite back at work! We all love that saw!

nice saw lightweight without that cheap feeling .already had many other Makita 18 volt tools so just buying the tool instead of a kit is very cost effective.The electric brake is awesome-do not buy any circular saw without this feature

Loving this saw. I was a little reluctant to buy a cordless because the last cordless saw I used was my dads older craftsman 19.2 volt and it was "okay". This saw cuts like crazy. So far I've cut MDF and plywood and it cuts like nothing through those. We are remodeling our kitchen and we are doing butcherblock counters. I used this saw to cut many of the 1-1/2" birch pieces. It did not fly through them, but it did cut pretty easy. Just had to take my time. Actually cut the counter better than my Ridgid table saw. Was surprising. Also, the led light is such a fantastic feature. It's so nice to have a light and it's pretty bright, right on the cut. One of the other reason I bought a new saw was for dust collection. My old corded Makita circular, of course has no dust collection, so this was a welcome feature. It actually works pretty good. My only two slight negatives are, for one it is not perfectly 90 degree's, it's a tiny bit off. Maybe I'll figure a way to get it straight. Other criticism is the duct collection port does not come with the saw. Doesn't make sense. I had to purchase that elsewhere. Before I bought this, I was looking at the makita compact saw, but after watching some review video's and looking over the compact, this one is definitely built much, much better, and it's less expensive. Very happy with the saw. My old corded saw is now collecting dust. This one does everything I need and more.

I'm a professional cabinet maker. I love tools and use them all the time. We use Makita in the shop/install and I have my own Makita tools at home. This is a great saw. With Brushless motor there is more low end torque and longer battery life. It's not an equal to a corded saw but one of the greatest 18v saws out there. It accomplishes all the tasks we need it for. If you have a little extra money buy this one over the standard brushed motor saw. It will cut almost anything you ask it to do. It has a blade brake that works almost instantly after you let off trigger. I like the battery gauge so I know how much power I have to finish a small job. There is also a little LED light that lights up the area a bit when cutting. The blade it comes with is a good carbide blade. I recommend this saw.

The Makita cordless circular saw is a light and versatile saw. It has automatic speed change that adjusts the speed and torque that improves the cutting performance. It has a brushless motor which should increase the life of the saw. It does not come with a battery or charger.. Adjusting the depth of cut, and the sighting is very user friendly. You can also attach a shop vac for clean cutting. For a small cordless circular saw, it has a lot of power..

This is a great, handy tool to have if you have other 18-Volt LXT Lithium batteries of the same brand!! This package of the saw only comes with the tool. YOU MUST HAVE BATTERIES FROM OTHER TOOLS!! The saw is perfect for misc. use when electricity is not available. The ease of switching batteries & compact use is awesome!! I would definitely recommend!!

Very clean cuts, plenty of torque, battery doesn’t die slowly at the end. Well worth the purchase price.

Saw works well and battery life is for the most part good. A lot depends on what you are cutting. Makita makes good battery tools and I would recommend

Best skil saw ever, lightweight, small enough to fit in tight spaces, powerful! got it with protection plan and after year and a half it broke using it daily and they home depot replaced it no questions asked definitely worth every penny
