I’m was 84 years old at the time my 34 year old Maytag washer quit. When I would open the lid of my washed clothes, they were in the same position as I had put them and didn’t seem to be getting clean. After complaining many times to my family a daughter showed me a video as to how my machine should work. That’s when I found out that the agitator was not moving. My son googled reasons for this and ordered parts. Upon tipping the machine on its side he discovered the machine had not been completely assembled! I don’t like auto sensing. Bought it almost a year ago, and no issues, quiet, spins water out clothes out beyond expected, and cleans thoroughly. Would buy again and recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this Maytag 4.2 cu.ft. Top load washer washer with “deep water wash” a month ago, and I “highly recommend” it!!! This is our second HE washer, and to be honest I was wishing I could go back to a “normal” washer. I also was seriously considering another brand. Our previous one was also a Maytag, and I was very disappointed in it. Many times when unloading it I would find articles of clothing still partially dry which was very frustrating. I was not overloading it by any means. When I saw the inside of this washer, I was impressed by the size of it. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you what size our old one was, but it definitely was smaller. The old washer lasted us 11 years. By looking at this new model I could tell the laundry would be spread out more, instead of a high pile. While looking at the control buttons I noticed the Deep Water” button, Yay!! Our old washer locked once it started. There was a button, if held for 3 seconds, would eventually open so that I could add an additional item. (which was usually a pair of socks or a dish towel, not a large, heavy item). Once it actually started washing I wasn’t able to open to see the amount of water being used.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my washer a couple weeks ago and so far very impressed with it. It isn't a very sophisticated washer but I like that about it. It has a 4.2 cu ft capacity and is a top loader that get the job done very well.

Deep wash leaves clothes on top dry. Drain and spin doesn't work. Terrible experience so far. Miss my 25 year oll-old Kenmore. Maytag can keep its sensor tech and just give us old-fashioned washers that actually work. Two words for this washer: disappointing and frustrating. Photo illustrates cycle seven minutes underway in deep wash and heavy soil settings. As you can see by the grey sweat pants mostly dry and the candy cane pjs completely dry, this washer doesn't wash.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased it in may 2022 and this is the 2nd time I'm having a repair person come and see it. The first time they replaced the computer since it was not washing well, getting stuck in cycles and not rinsing. I had to wait more than a month the first time to get it fixed, now it is november and I have same issues and are waiting for repairs all over again. Difference this time is that water fills uptown rim and shuts down, apart from the recurring issues that "they fixed the 1st time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this washer even though it didn’t have very good reviews because we needed one that would fit and open under our laundry room cabinets. We also didn’t want to spend a lot on a washing machine. It is rather noisy when operating and the auto water level doesn’t seem to add enough water. For that reason we use the deep water wash cycle mostly. I guess you get what you pay for and for the price was pretty good. It does have a large tub with stainless steel sides and the controls provide a number of options for your wash.

It’s quiet and gets our clothes much cleaner than the Samsung did. We like the Deep Water wash option too for washing things like backpacks, shoes, and gear. It’s pretty quiet as well.

I bought this machine a month ago and have done many loads. Clothes do not get as clean as they did with my worn-out 30-year old Kenmore. I recently washed a load of black clothing with the bulky/sheets setting, deep fill and 2 rinses. It looked like "most" of the clothes got wet, however, every item had a gray powdery film on it and looked dirtier than before they were washed. I use liquid HE laundry detergent without fabric softener, so have no idea what the powdery film is from. I washed the load again on PowerWash. They looked even worse. I finally split the load in half and ran through a Rinse & Spin cycle to get them clean. There is nothing efficient about this machine except that it uses very little water in a load. Unfortunately, it takes much longer to wash a load and often the loads need to be washed twice so it doesn't save water. Instead of getting a load done in 45 minutes like my old machine, I spent nearly 3 hours washing a load because I had to wash it twice and rinse it again after that. I wish Maytag engineers would explain how this is efficient. Delicates washed on the hand wash setting were so wrinkled that I had to steam them after line drying them and sweater items looked worn from the washer, even when washed in a mesh bag. Permanent press items washed on wrinkle control came out very wrinkled. I don't recommend this washer and will never buy another one. My next washer will be a Speed Queen.

The only problem I noticed (and it didn’t have anything to do with the operation of the washer) when you open the lid it hits the controls so I glued a rubber stopper where the controls are and it solved the problem.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The sensor is off, not covering clothes. I have to lift lid and keep poking the button under top to add water. The deep water wash fills only like the auto sensing does, not even covering clothes.

I like the idea of sensing how much water is needed. It’s definitely a new experience for me to put the detergent in before the clothes, but I’m getting accustomed to it.

Doesn’t work with earth friendly soap or borax Useless to me. Trying to sell a brand new machine and buy something better and Home Depot won’t credit me. Not going back

The basket hub stripped (plastic) and was replaced for around $30 from local supply house. Lasted about 3 months and stripped again. This time I see the reason. The transmission shaft is rusty and splines are almost nonexistent. This means a new transmission. The 10 year warranty on parts sticker is still on the washer but since it wasn’t registered, I doubt I’d get free parts. Besides, when your washer dies, who has time to wait on parts and the repair it. I’m going washer shopping today.
