Love the carry case and the square end sockets. Very high quality. Also purchased the 1/4 and 1/2 inch sets as well in SAE and metric. It’s also great that the cases come with removable tool cabinet drawer tray that keeps all the pieces in place inside my tool chest. I have many different brands of hand tools that I keep at different work locations…..Craftsman, Kobalt, Gear Wrench, Husky, and Mac. When I purchase the Milwaukee Socket Set I didn't know what to expect. As I opened the blow molded Box , I saw a complete set of 3/8 SAE short and deep and short and deep metric sockets. along with a 90 tooth ratchet and 2 extensions and a swivel .It has a removable tray for a tool box if desired. As I took the sockets out to look at them and see the brilliant Chrome finish and square ends that will stop them from rolling and let you put a wrench on them if extra torque is needed I was very impressed. The quality and the price point is way better than any mobile tool truck could possibly offer for way less than 1/10 of Price as well. Milwaukee Proved again that they Only sell the Best Tools. I must admit I bought the 1/4 & 1/2 inch set as well I was so impressed. And bought a set for my Son and Son in law. Thanks MILWAUKEE !! Keep the Great Products coming !

The Milwaukee 1/4 in. Drive SAE/Metric Ratchet and Socket Mechanics Tool Set (25-Piece) belongs in every pro or DIY tool kit. It includes both SAE and metrics sizes. The ratchet as ninety teeth making capable of being used even in tight spaces where swinging the handle is restricted. The case is small enough you can probably grab it and drop into our job bag. The has tabs that allow you to hang on your tool pegboard. The tray holding the sockets, ratchet and extent is not fastened to the case and can be easily removed. Personally, I hope in the future Milwaukee makes the tray a snap in. The tray doesn't do snap in placement for the any of the items. This is easy to spill. A couple of magnet strips under the sockets would be a great idea.

I'm reviewing this Milwaukee 1/4 inch drive SAE/ metric ratchet and socket mechanics tool set 25 piece. Milwaukee makes great quality corded and battery powered tools but there hand tools are great quality is well. Other than the odd spark plug socket I haven't seen many sockets you can put a open end wrench on the back. This is a good idea for when you only have so much room. The size range is 5/32"to 9/16" in SAE and 5 mm to 15 mm in metric. Wrenches that fit the back of the sockets are from 3/8" to 5/8" 5 in total. In many cases you can get away with making do with tools but once in a while you need just the right tool to get the job done. I can see where this could be just what is needed at time's.

This set (Sockets made in China, Ratchet in Taiwan) has virtually all the smaller sockets I need, from .5 – 15mm and 5/32 – 9/16”, with a comfortable ratchet, and 3” extension with knurled shaft and a lifetime warranty. The 6-point sockets are all marked on two sides, so finding the engraved size markings is easy although sometimes hard to read in glaring light. The four flat sides of each socket allow use of various box-end wrenches (or an adjustable wrench) to apply more torque to the socket which might occasionally come in handy, although the 1/4” drive ratchet can provide more than enough torque for smaller sockets in most cases. The ratchet is a joy to use – solid, heavy but well balanced with an easy-to-operate low profile lever for switching directions.The case is solid plastic with metal hinge rods and a removable hard-plastic tray if you want to store the set in a drawer or tool box. The individual socket holders are sized and marked for that particular socket. The case has a sliding lock which securely closes the hinged top, but since the only indication of which position is “locked” and which is “open” is a different sized tiny hole within the mechanism I found myself fumbling – until I marked one side with a permanent marker. The two hanging tabs near the lock give the false impression they can be used to open the case; they cannot. There is a slight overhang on each side for that. As usual, Milwaukee charges a high but reasonable cost for this extremely well-made set, but it's worth the extra price to me.

I really like this set from Milwaukee, it changed the way I think about quality mechanics tools and the ability to have this level of quality tools from a big box store is amazing. These sockets are awesome and I love the square design, they really don’t roll around on your work surface and they fit perfectly into the removable tray Milwaukee provides with this set. That is actually what blew me away with this set, the tray can be placed in your existing toolbox or a slim packout! I love how easy it is to retrieve the sockets from the tray and they only fit well in their home so you know when everything is in the right place. The wrench that comes with this set is also amazing, it’s very heavy and has a very fine tooth design so it is extremely smooth to operate and you can get great leverage. Overall I highly recommend this set if you are looking for quality mechanic tools.

This socket set has 27 sockets and a 3/8 inch ratcheting driver and a short extension. The 14 Metric sockets go in 1 mm increments from 6 mm to 19 mm. The 13 SAE sockets go in 1/16 inch intervals from 1/4” to 1”. These are all short (not deep/long) sockets, and they have a nice chrome finish, and easy to read markings. They have a unique anti-roll, “wrench ready” design - the socket wrench end of the socket has four flat sides, so could be used/turned with an open end wrench if needed. The set comes in a plastic carry case. There is an insert tray in the case that holds the set, and the insert tray is removable, and would easily fit in tool chest drawer for holding the socket organized in your tool chest. The insert can be placed back in the carry case for mobile use. Good quality, and has a lifetime warranty from Milwaukee. I’m pretty happy with this versatile 3/8” socket set.

This socket set comes in a nice plastic case. The wrench has a low profile. It has a useful selection of sizes, including a 1". I really like the square shape of the sockets because they don't roll around. It also gives a flat surface which makes the sizes easy to see. My only negative is that there is no button to push the socket off the wrench. This is not a game changer, and actually has the plus of one less part to break over time. There is a lifetime guarantee.

This is a nice compact set of wrenches that doesn’t take up much storage space in the back of our SUV as we always have tools with us. A nice thing about the storage case is that the inner tray will come out if we would rather store the tools in a larger tool chest or cabinet. The ratchet itself has one of the smallest arcs of any wrench we have ever seen which makes it easy to use when you don’t have a lot of space to swing a ratchet in use. Milwaukee says that it has 90 teeth to accomplish this. The directional level is flush in the ratchet handle also which means I won’t be accidentally changing directions while I am using it. I like that it has both metric and standard size sockets. This saves me going back to the work bench to get the proper size wrenches. One of the best things about these sockets though, in my experience, is the fact that they have a square base that will take a 5/8 inch open end longer wrench for when more leverage is needed, or when a tight space just requires one instead of the ratchet handle. My friend and I recently had to move a picnic table which had to be taken apart first to fit in the vehicle. I had literally just gotten this Milwaukee ratchet set and it ended up being exactly what we needed to take it apart. There were twelve 14mm bolts that needed to be taken out and this ratchet handled it like a champ, especially given that the bolts had been in there for a number of years and were pretty rusty. As an all around handy man, I like to have tools in my truck bed box that can travel with me and another set just for home use. But we all know with the price of tools that isn't always possible. So when I find tools that can help reduce the number of tools to take with me, that's a plus. Fewer tools to lose and fewer to carry. This is a high quality 1/4 drive ratchet set that really helps my situation for carrying fewer tools. It's a common set with shallow only standard and metric sockets. What's so unique is these sockets have square bases. This allows you to use them with incremental wrenches or an adjustable wrench. This nearly eliminates the need for deep sockets yet also can allow you to apply extra torque in certain situations. I've had those times that the nut I need to remove is on a bolt that's longer than the sockets depth. Not a problem here. Just put a wrench on the socket to get it loose. The ratchet is a 90 tooth which allows plenty of swing back to catch another gear. And the extension is knurled in the middle which gives you a far better grip. But if for no other reason, this is just a great ratchet set.

The tray within the case can be removed which is nice but the sockets just sit in cavities so if you bump it hard the sockets can come loose. With the case closed, all parts stay in their cavities. The base of the sockets is square so you put a wrench on them for more leverage. The sockets are held on with a ratchet ball, but does not have a pushbutton to release socket. They do hold tight. Nice chrome finish. Will use this set when I'm not sure what size socket I will need. Just bring them all.

Milwaukee's 1/4 in Ratchet Set is a winner. It provides me with both SAE and Metric sizes in strong, handy case. I love the squared top which allow me to use a box or adjustable wrench in really tight spaces (In today's tightly packed engine compartments, this is a life and knuckle saver). The lever on top is easy to switch from loosen to tighten even with greasy hands (Not sure why its mark on and off). I give this ratchet set my highest rating - 5 stars.

I can honestly say this is the most impressive engineering job on any set of sockets and ratchet tools I've ordered in years. The sockets are so much easier than the older ones for finger spinning loose taps off. Plus you have the option of using a wrench to spin the sockets. The Milwaukee 3/8 in. drive SAE/Metric ratchet and socket 29 piece mechanics tool set has a very unique feature. That is that one end of the socket is square so they do not roll away on you. I would also imagine the square end could be helpful where there is a recessed nut where a socket attached to a ratchet will not fit. You can drop the socket on the nut then turn the socket with a wrench.

I am so glad I selected this Milwaukee socket set with 3/8" ratchet. I keep a socket set in the back seat area of my crew-cab truck. It's a 22-piece set and bulky. Well, the shell case finally broke spilling sockets all over the floorboard. I picked everything up and moved that set into a tool bag and found myself always "digging" for the right socket.
