Milwaukee should call ALL THESE BACK!
The "rachet" doesn't work. On my third one. Milwaukee replaced one, then home Depot replaced that one. None of the three rachet. Time is of the essence, and this tool adds more time to your cuts. The blade, on the first one, twisted like a tin with a schedule 80 pipe, AFTER 5 CUTS!!!while my 13 dollar Husky is kicking it. MILWAUKEE YOU SHOULD PULL ALL OF THESE Not up to par with your quality. Ill eventually return this, and get another Husky or Ridgid. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!!

    Let Down!
I got this for 2” schedule 40 pipe and it does not cut square. I was very dissapointed, I was hoping it would be a great tool but fell short. The short stroke of pulling together was nice but it does not cut square. I tried twisting and non twisting. Same results.

Milwaukee just rocked this tool. I was skeptical as all can be when I received it. I took down the summer pool and my home-made raft shelves made out of PVC. They needed to be cut down and sent to the recycle bin. I figured why not to try this out. It is extremely well made and does the job quickly and thoroughly without issues. I love this tool and look forward to using it more. The lines are perfect cutting into it if you wondering to cut or glue pieced together.

As always, the Milwaukee is one of the best in the tool market. This 2-3/8 in. ratcheting pipe cutter is great help of the professional plumber. The stainless steel blade makes a clean cut with no burs and no crushing the pipe. I tried it on the PVC and Pex pipes. The smaller diameter pipes are very easy to cut, but pipes with higher diameters from 1 1/2 inch and upward are a little more tough with one hand operation.

This ratchet style cutter is amazing. It cuts through PVC piping like a knife through butter. It takes maybe a dozen ratchets to get through the pipe. In my video you can see the original cut which was done with a hand saw. The pipe cutter has a much cleaner and smoother finished edge. I love how easy and simple it is to cut PVC pipe. This makes quick work of small projects.

I'm really impressed with this pipe cutter. I've had other, cheaper cutters before that were plastic but this one is so much more solid and sturdy. It feels to be cast aluminum with a solid powder coating in red. The blade is sharp right from the package and it made short work of the test cuts I made in various diameters of PEX I was working with. The cuts were clean and nicely square and ready for joining. I also really like the mechanism for locking the cutter in the closed position so that it the blade is protected in my plumbing tool bag. I really have no criticisms of this extremely capable tool.

This all metal construction, ratcheting pipe cutters from Milwaukee tools is a great tool to use for cutting PVC, CPVC, PEX, Rubber Hose and ABS plastic pipes. It can cut pipes up to 2-3/8 inches in diameter. Cutting blade is stainless steel and is designed to last. It cuts thru plastic pipe easily and cuts come out clean and straight. It has a built in lock when not in use to protect the blade. I really like Milwaukee tools, they are made well, and made for heavy duty use.

I used to be devoted to the "D" company but within the last several years Milwaukee Tools has really won me over. I own a large assortment of their products (I'm a tool junkie") and they have all exceeded my expectations. I own rental properties and I do a fair amount of plumbing work during the renovations. I've always cut my plastic piping with a hacksaw until I bought a ratcheting pipe cutter from HF. Big mistake. What a piece of junk. I replaced it with the Milwaukee PEX tubing cutter which cuts like a hot knife through butter. When I spotted this Milwaukee pipe cutter on HD's site I knew this is what I needed for cutting PVC, CPVC, PEX, rubber hose and ABS. This will cut uo to 2-3/8 in. pipe and the ratchet mechanism works like a dream. I found that on thicker and larger diameter pipe I needed two hands to start the cut but because it uses a ratcheting action much less force is required to complete the cut. Home Depot stocks replacement blades, they're model #48-22-4216. Like my other Milwaukee tools I found this 2-3/8 in. pipe cutter to be a serious tool for the professional or anyone seeking professional results. Milwaukee offers a Limited Lifetime Warranty on all their hand tools. Every MILWAUKEE hand tool is warranted to the original purchaser only to be free from defects in material and workmanship. Subject to certain exceptions, MILWAUKEE will repair or replace any hand tool which, after examination, is determined by MILWAUKEE to be defective in material or workmanship for the lifetime of the tool.

Milwaukee is expensive, but worth the price. I get an, 'Oh, that is how it is supposed to work' feeling, when I use one of their products. I have had numerous cheapo cutters, but they inevitably cut crooked (see pic) and blades chip. This one cuts clean and straight with no jagged edges (see pic). Like most, when you pull open the handles the blade fully opens. This has a nice feature where once fully open, you can push the blade down; do not have to racket it down with handle.

This is a solid pipe-cutter. Its sharp blade cuts easily through PVC, providing a mostly square cut. I made several cuts with this cutter and was impressed. It certainly beats using a hack saw like I did previously. This will also cut a wide range of pipe sizes, great to have. The cutter is big but I am still able to get a good hold for cuts. If you have small hands, you may have some trouble with larger diameter pipes. The ratcheting motion is trouble-free and the tool provides excellent leverage overall. Its design is great and I couldn't find a piece of plastic on it. All metal. There is a lock at the end of the handle to keep it closed and a small hole in the handle for hanging it on a pegboard.

1-5/8 in. Ratcheting Pipe Cutter by Milwaukee Packaging: Hanging blister pack Contents: One pipe cutter First Impressions: Good looking, strong Description: This is a pipe cutter for all soft material pipes. It can cut thru pipe up to 1-5/8 inches. The two handles lock together for storage based upon a thumb-activated plastic latch at the end of one handle. One simply rolls the knurled end one way or the other to make the latch engage or disengage the opposite handle. This works well. The pipe is to lay within the curve of one jaw, while the other jaw's knife comes down thru it. Applying a squeeze-and-release pumping action to the handles will ratchet the jaws together and press the knife thru the pipe to cut it. Opening the jaws will release the pressure by popping the knife back open. Usage: This cutter worked as well as any of this type that I have tried. Over a long day's use, this will become a real hand strengthener. One problem I had with it was that it tended not to cut squarely thru the pipe. Also, it did not hold the pipe in the curve of the one jaw but instead pushed it forward until the knife could engage it. These are problems for which a redesign is in order. Overall Thoughts: Not recommended because of the very high price.

This is a Milwaukee brand ratcheting PVC pipe cutter. It is only designed to be used on PVC pipe and could be used to cut rubber of other soft materials. The pipe cutter fits well in the hand. The ratcheting mechanism works well in all positions. The pipe cuts thin wall 1120 PVC pipe easily without crimping the pipe almost in half like other cutters. The blade is sharp.

This pipe cutter is a very high end, professional grade cutter. It has a 2 3/8" jaw allowing it to cut up to 2" plastic pipe. It can cut larger pipe, but I have discovered it works best with 2" or less. It is well designed and very solid so that each cut is straight making construction of plumbing projects easier. The way the blade is designed, it will pierce your pipe without cracking or crushing it. I have cut a lot of pipe in my time so having a cutter with handles designed to fit in your hand comfortably so you can do a great deal of cutting without the fatigue associated with some cutters was a big plus for me. It is constructed with a stainless steel blade to stay sharp longer and last longer. It has a heavy-duty metal locking devise in the handle to keep them closed when not in use.

A beautiful clean square cut every time with the Milwaukee 1-5/8 in. ratcheting pipe cutter. The angled knife first pierces the pipe, starting the cut with ease and little effort. From start to finish, Milwaukee's angled knife surpasses every straight knife pipe or hose cutters I have used before. The cuts are square, clean, and only require light chamfering if desired. Even when cutting hose that is softer than plastic pipe, the cuts in hose are also square and clean right though the hose reinforcement filaments. Milwaukee engineers' professional grade tools are designed to last a lifetime when properly maintained. The tool quality is second to no other. I recommend to anyone who plans to install or maintain their own in ground irrigation system, to use a plastic pipe cutter. Doing so will make the job much easier and go much faster than doing the job with a hacksaw. There are no instructions included with the pipe cutter. To return the cutting knife to the open position, simply pull or push the ratcheting handle in the opposite direction and the knife opens fully.

This thing is amazing! The price is also amazingly high. It should cost about $50 to they only make about 5x markup. It does, however, work exceptionally well. I'm pleased with it. Recommended.
