Missing End Cap
The level looks like it would be decent but it's missing an end cap. It's a bummer to see this lack of quality control.

    Love this Level!
Ok, I did not understand what my older brother, an architect and former builder, was telling me when he said to get a magnetic level for my deck and DIY projects. I have this now and love it! It is rock solid among the best that I have ever seen compared to what you find in the store shelves. This has already been accidentally dropped and not a scratch or break in the level bubble. It is more than accurate to hang large mirrors as well as wood work. I liked it so much I ordered more of my new brand Milwaukee levels in 30" and torpedo. I highly recommend this to everyone from DIY to professional builder. Love it and look forward to many more uses over my lifetime with it!

    Sturdy level
I just love these Milwaukee Redstick levels! They are built tough, accurate, and are very easy to read. The handy thing about the 16" level is that it fits right in your toolbox, but is also bigger than a torpedo level, and so is quite handy on the job site. The box level style is a little more bulky than a standard level, but the solid metal frame and rubber bumpers on the ends serve well to protect it. As anyone knows that has done any kind of project, levels will fall sooner or later, and only the good ones stay true. The magnets are quite strong, in fact I have bumped it while it was stuck to a metal surface and it moved, but it snapped right back and did not fall! It even has a handy hole for hanging it up in your shop. Of course the most important thing about any level, I found it to be true and accurate. This is a professional quality level at an affordable price.

Ideal for big jobs, great accuracy
Milwaukee tools stand up to the test of time, and this level is no different. It is strong, durable, high quality, well made, and supremely accurate. We just used it over the weekend when we built the deck to make sure we were level. We could put it on the roofline to check the level and could read it clearly from the ground. It is a very long level so it's perfect for large jobs. The magnet holds it in place but also helps pick up nails and screws etc when the job is done. Great value for the quality you're getting here.

    Excellent Quality
The magnets in this level work great. It actually stuck to the corner bead through the drywall held up by the baseboard with no chance of falling. The level is nice and and easy to hold without the need for a handle cutaway since it is "Compact". At 6 feet long this level works great ensuring true plumb. The sites are very easy to read and the level is sturdy and well made. It seems like it will take some pretty good abuse, time will tell.

    Heavy duty
As a plumber I always need accurate and heavy duty tools. This 2' magnetic level was perfect for my needs. I used it most recently on a double laundry tub installation. The heavy weight and substantial "feel" of the level helped it stay in place while I adjusted the legs underneath the tub. I didn't need the magnetic function for this job but it tested it on some nearby ductwork and it held quite well. The vials are nice and large so they're easy to read even with the lousy lighting I was working with. I've been very pleased with all of my Milwaukee levels so far and count them as my favorites.

    Solid
I understand why this is called "redstick" as it is just what feels like a solid indestructible bar. This level has certainly got some heft to it, but not so much that the magnets don't have an easy time adhering to objects. In my attached photo it is clinging to the side of my laundry dryer without breaking a sweat. The only downside is the fact that when I did that I realized how the stand we built was not perfectly level.

    Good sturdy level
Milwaukee has come out with a solid line of levels and this one lives up to its name. I have found this level to be both durable and accurate. The easy to read magnified bubbles make finding level and plumb lines a snap. The rare earth magnets give it great holding power on steel studs or any other metal surface you need to check. I like the compact box level design, as standard box levels are a bit bulky and heavy. Of course with any level, the most important thing is the accuracy. I tested it against itself (by flipping the level) and against a very high end level, and found that it holds true to its readings. The only thing I would like see is a durable carrying case to protect it in transit. With its solid build however, I don't expect any problems for years to come.

Very Well Balanced and High Quality Box Level
I use box levels regularly and the 48 inch one is probably used the most. After doing some research, I decided to obtain the new Milwaukee 48 in. Redstick Magnetic Box Level. The first thing noticeable with this box level is the good balance, ergonomic hand grips, and easy-to-read bubble vials. It’s an all metal (aluminum) backbone, so there’s no weak plastic parts. It also has strong magnets that hold the level firmly on a metal surface without support. After using the Milwaukee 48 in. Magnetic Redstick Level for several weeks I am very impressed with it’s quality, accuracy and ease of use. The vials on the Milwaukee 48 in. Magnetic Redstick Level are amplified 2x for increased visibility and have acrylic protective surfaces for easy cleaning. The level is milled to 0.029 degrees accuracy and comes with a lifetime warranty. Highly recommended for contractors or anyone needing a high quality box level.

6.5' length great for leveling countertops, shelving, and large projects; Metal casing increases durability, Level gauges easy to view, Portable
The magnetic box level is encased with metal I think to increase durability of such a long level. It's also easily portable with the molded hand grips and can be hung on the wall to maximize storage. Leveling additional closet shelving and countertop were easier with this length because it covered the length of the desired area; likewise the level gauges were quite visible enabling more precise measurement.

    Amazing Strength
This massive level is absolutely wonderful. I used it for a couple projects. It is versatile and well made. I was able to cut insulation and use it as a guide down the roll. This gave me very accurate cuts. The level also has a heavy weight so it doesn't move as you use it to cut with your knife. The magnets on each side are also very strong. Overall, this is an amazing tool!

    Contractor-grade Level
With their acquisition of Empire Level, a company that has almost 100 years of experience with manufacturing high-quality levels, Milwaukee has really dove into the market. These new contractor-grade RedStick levels are built to the extreme, designed to compete directly with the Stabila levels that are very popular with carpenters and builders. These levels are built to the extreme, made to handle daily professional use, and the sometimes accidental abuse that happens on the job site. They are claimed to be "stronger than Stabila" with their all-metal inner-structural backbone and 10x more durable vials. The vials themselves are made in the USA. The levels have an accuracy tolerance of 0.029 degrees, or 0.0005 inches per inch, which is pretty much the industry standard in the high-end level market. The level carries a lifetime accuracy guarantee, as well as an overall limited lifetime warranty. I've been using it on sites over the last couple of weeks, and every tradesmen that I've showed it to has been impressed. The level is obviously very stout, the machining and overall fit and finish are excellent. The rare earth magnets hold the level firmly. The vials are very easy to read, and appear to be very durable.

    Premium Quality Level
After purchasing Empire Level a few years ago, it looks like Milwaukee has finally leveraged their experience. This is a very high quality, professional-grade level that rivals others in the top industry positions. Milwaukee even calls out "Stronger than Stabila" on the product packaging. I got the 48" magnetic version, and it's build quality was evident as soon as I picked it up. The milled aluminum construction is sturdy and perfectly flat. The vials are large, easy to read, and the center one is viewable from almost any angle thanks to the center cutout. There's even a lifetime guarantee on the vials for accuracy to 0.029°. To strengthen the box beam at the center, Milwaukee has included an all-magnesium "backbone". This feature is in all of their new RedStick levels, while the competition doesn't add reinforcement to their levels unless they're at least 59" long. The magnets are super strong too, spaced roughly every 12" along the bottom. One of the only design complaints I had was the removable end caps could uses a little more rubber on them. There's a plastic tab that the rubber only extends about 1/32" past, and when dropped it doesn't seem like it absorbs enough of the impact before the more rigid plastic absorbs the rest. I also didn't like that all the edges were chamfered, which makes it harder to use the level as a straight edge for marking lines. Overall, these are a great quality level. They're definitely priced beyond what a homeowner needs, but for now they also seem to be priced a little beyond their professional grade competition. I guess after Milwaukee has a while to get a feel for the market demand we'll see if it's warranted or not, but for now I think they're priced a little steep even for the pro users out there.

    Insane readability on the vials!!
The vials on these new Milwaukee REDSTICK magnetic box levels are insanely easy to read from any angle. The magnets are very very strong. I have them hanging on the inside roof of my work van and they hold with no issues. They have some weight compared to the blue brand that Home Depot sells, but its not anything extreme. The do feel substantially stronger than any other levels that I have owned or used. See pictures below for view-ability. I will admit, compared to the blue brand, these are very pricey, but I think they are worth it! I put the value at 4 because these levels are not cheap.

    Easiest level to read, PERIOD!
Once I did not get the magnet against metal and the level fell from the inside roof of my work van to the inside floor, and the only damage was a bit of the red paint chipped off. A 4 foot fall and that was all that happened, I checked level against my other redstick and my blue brands and the vials were reading the same. See pictures below for view-ability. I will admit, compared to the blue brand, these are very pricey, but I think they are worth it!

Outstanding Tool – But worth the Price?
Make no mistake – this is a FANTASTIC level. It's highly accurate, rugged, comfortable to use, easy to read, and beautiful to look at. Like other Milwaukee tools I'm sure it will stand up to incredible abuse if needed – and it carries the lifetime accuracy warranty. The rare-earth magnets on one side are strong enough to hold the level in any position on a metal surface, even upside down. The edges are square and crisp, so there is no problem drawing pencil lines across the face to mark level or plumb. From my perspective there is nothing to improve and nothing to dislike, except possibly the price. There are other highly-rated levels on the market with the same stated accuracy, selling for ¼ the price, so it's hard to justify paying this much for even a Milwaukee level unless you work under extreme conditions. Still, if you have the money and need the rugged reliability of a Milwaukee tool this level can't be beat.

I have never used a bad Milwaukee tool.
Man these Milwaukee redstick levels are plain and simple high quality, stout levels. Then again I have never used a bad Milwaukee tool. I am a huge fan of levels. Its just that simple tool in the shop or on a job site, in which the use of one can make the finish product a sight to see or a complete disaster. This magnetic base 24" level is the perfect size for all around use. This level is heavier than your typical levels, which is a good thing. Milwaukee aimed at making a more robust level that could handle the riggers of the job site, handle more weight with out bending or warping, and remain dead on accurate for its lifetime. In fact dead on accuracy with these levels for their life time is part of Milwaukee guarantee. Now these redstick levels will cost you a bit more than the average level you see hanging in your local hardware store or home improvement center, but they are oh so worth it. The magnets are really strong. The level is flat to with in .0005" on both surfaces, so it can be trusted as a straight edge. I placed the level on the flattest machine surface that I have. Which is is my cast iron table saw top. Took the thinnest feeler gauge that I have which was .004" and tried to insert it under the table saw at every point and there was not enough room to get the feeler gauge under the saw. This level is dead flat The vile are large and true to Milwaukee claim. They really are much easier to read. I I just really like these levels and they will become the new primary use levels in my wood shop. The others I am currently using in my shop will be downgraded to more messy work like laying tile, cement, and glue ups. Id highly recommend these levels to anyone in the market for a box level. You wont regret spending the extra bucks on this type of quality.

    Violently Inaccurate.
Picked this MLBXM16 level up 15 minutes ago (Internet order). Drove home, tested on my granite countertop, and with 2 known-accurate Stabilas. This level is off by 5/64ths in 16*. Absolutely unacceptable. This goes back tomorrow: lesson learned, and shame on me for wanting to try something new.

      Great Product
The 78" box-mag Redstick level is a home run. I love the magnetic base and the easy read bubble levels. This tool will certainly take a beating and last a very long time. Otherwise, I think it is a bit pricey, but worth it. Now its time to set some forms.
