Auto lock doesn't work and it worked for a very short time period.

The numbers on the tape are nice and big with 1/8" graduations shown. I like the auto-lock feature because it doesn't require additional input to quickly take many measurements when you have gloves on. Problem is that the auto-lock breaks in less than a year with occasional usage. The spring on the lock is losing strength or the "bite" is losing its friction. I really wanted to like this tape measure but once the auto-lock breaks, there's no manual way to lock it and it just retracts immediately

Nice big numbers and feels solid, but on first the tape separated from the recoil mechanism. Opened to see the issue, the blade that holds the end of the tape snapped off. Pics attached.

I don’t know how many people are claiming that this tape measurement is good. The plastic stopper wears out and the tape doesn’t stop. This is my 2nd one and it is the same problem. I went with a fatmax and that is a good tape measurement.

East to read. Sturdy tape. Unfortunately auto lock broke within 3 weeks. Disappointed. Wouldn’t recommend for someone looking for the auto lock function

Not good i wil not recommended this to anyone even if ur in a rush DONT DO IT..

Used a few times before the locking mechanism quit working. Milwaukee quality has dropped off a cliff.

I got this for site inspections. The numbers are large so it photographs well. The tape isn't so fat that it is a pain to carry or put in pockets. I can use it while wearing gloves. Fractions of an inch are displayed as well as foot + inch increments.

Seemed like a nice tape, fairly priced. I was extremely disappointed that the it jammed up and essentially became unusable on the third time using it.

Overall this is a very good tape measure, esp. for the price. However, the web description says 12' Reach. On the package, it specifically says 9' Reach. It does extend 9' without collapsing but there is absolutely no way this can be extended 12'. Despite this, a very nice product.

I love this measuring tape! It has a feature that most measuring tapes do not have. When you pull out the tape it stays out. This feature makes it much easier to work with. Then when you push the button it retracts. I also like the fact the tape is sturdy. All around a quality product. If you want a great measuring tape, you should buy this one.

I just got this item today. Upon opening it, a lot of the markings are almost completely faded and make it hard to read. The first place this starts is around the 3' mark, which is where a lot of measurements are needed.

I bought this around 2 weeks ago. I use it around the house for my DIY projects, so I have not used it all that much. The tape measure feels nice in my hand and the auto lock is stiff enough, but the numbers and lines that are printed on the top that we use to measure are starting to wear out already. Dont know if its because of the print didn't seal good or what. Have not tried taking it back for exchange, but after 2 weeks or so they probably won't take it back. Still a nice tape measure and probably won't 1st choice but not my last choice.

I am a Milwaukee fanboy, but this tape is not up to Milwaukee's quailty! I bought this tape measure to replace my $3 tape measures because I ruin them a lot and I thought that this tape measure would last longer. I was wrong! The day I bought this is started to mess up already. The numbers started wearing off as soon as I opened it.(see picture) I had a 25' tape measure from Milwaukee as well but the auto lock broke on it within 2 days! These tape measures are not up to Milwaukee's standards do not buy!

I love this tape. It is so smooth when extending and retracting the tape. The tape itself Is coated and has easy to read measurements. I prefer Auto-Lock tapes and highly recommend this one if you do as well. The ability to add a lanyard is a nice feature as well. Overall, the tape feels solid and I believe it will hold up very well.

I like the compact size of it and the auto lock it makes the job easy with one less thing to do on a busy day

The auto stand out feature does take a little getting used to but performs perfectly and is very convenient when needed. The tape itself is a little flimsy for my taste but is coated and works well. I would recommend this to a friend, especially if you do a lot of framing work.

Robust and precision

I own about 15 tape measures, all different brands & sizes and this is the first one that has the auto lock & I love it! It's just so intuitive, pull out what you need and it stays, push the button and it retracts. Most times I don't need a 25' or 30' tape, it's bulky and easy to drop & the locking levers don't work that well after awhile. This little guy can do 95% of the measuring I need and is smaller & lighter in weight than the others & has a nice feel in hand The hook at the end is large enough to hold a knife to when cutting drywall & there are 3 rivets to help keep it attached to the tape. I also like the markings at the longer lengths, it actually says 15'4". If you need help with the fractions (or have a helper that does), they are printed out as well 1/8" 1/4" & 1/2", so it actually has 3/8" & 7/8" printed within each inch (see pic). The tape can stand out around 8'6" & is marked in red blocks with yellow numbers for 16 OC, and black blocks with yellow numbers for feet. The only minor learning curve I had was where to press to get the tape to retract, you have to push down toward back of the tapes black locking trigger rather than toward the front edge, but only took a few times to get used to it. This is how all tape measures should be made!

Bob running the bandsaw out in the shop says he really likes it. The auto lock is great for measuring long bars.

Excellent quality, light weight and the auto lock system its very helpful when you have one of your hands busy holding something else.

It breaks at about 8 1/2 feet. Feels very sturdy. And I love the auto lock. I haven't dropped it yet but it feels like it'll handle falls ok.

Love this tape. Very useful with the extra measurements on one side. Easy to use. Great buy.

I ordered this small milwaukee 16 foot measuring tape for small projects for fitting appliances and wood work. On the job and at home and even the garden It is a quality unit. And i like the locking draw feature that works exact opposite of traditional tape measures. Heavy duty feel. And droppec a number of times and still works like new. Milwaukee 16 foot autolock measuring tape is a must in any tool kit. No need to push a lever to lock the tape in place. With autolock you pull out the measuring to the length needed and it stays locked. Self standing base keeps the tape in place while you work. A handy clip on the back to attach to your belt or pocket. This is must for every family too kit. This is the best.

I was looking for a new locking tape measure and saw this one at Home Depot two weeks ago. What caught my eye was the autolock feature. When the tape is pulled out it automatically locks. It only releases when the button on it is pressed. I liked the tape so much that I purchased another one for where I work at a glass shop. It is there where the tapes auto feature is appreciated and utilized. We cut glass to dimensions and using the auto locking tape to measure glass makes it makes the job effortless. Pull the tape out and it locks automatically. The tape is easy to read and has the fractions marked at all the increments along the tape. The design of the tape allows it to stand up by its self. I have used different manufacturers of locking tapes through the years and this one is the best.

I really like the auto lock feature on this tape measure. It operates real smooth and you don’t have to lock the tape and release the tape constantly. I also like the way the tape measure is labeled. The 1/8 in scale is nice when measuring short and/or precise measurements. I like that toward the end of the tape it label the tape in inches and also has the foot measurement and inches in red. (See the attachment) I would have given this tape 5 stars but when measuring between trees I pulled it out to far and now it won’t retract. I will have to repair this evening.
