We had about 600 feet of caulking to spread at about 1.25 inch width and 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick. This gun made the job very tolerable and using the sausage packs of caulk helped keep the cost down. The men said the first battery made it through the whole job as well.

Unconventional use
I actually use mine to make cheese straws. I own my own business & because the dough is so dense I had a hard time finding a press that would stand up to it. I finally found this gun 4 years ago & it has been AMAZING! It cuts my prep time to less than 5 minutes & no pain in my hands. Before, when I used old fashioned cookie presses, it took around 10 minutes & I could only make 1 batch at a time because of the pain in my hand.

full time caulker
im a construction caulker. I have this gun in my hand 6 days a week. all in all great gun. the problems I have with every day use is:
1. not an optional ladder hook to go on end of the drive shaft. the 2 hooks are to small for most areas to hang your gun especially when on a 20-32 ft ladder.
2. plunger after time starts to lose its seal and allows sausage to get by the side of the plunger making it a pain to get out. people using make sure to push the shaft all the way forward before unscrewing the cone, thatll make the empty sausage come out easier.
3. if the motor gets the slightest bit wet the release action seems to freeze up. ur pretty much screwed after that till it dries out.
4. speed goes to 6 with a full control trigger which I love. I just turn mine to 6 then adjust speed with the pressure of my finger. a subcontractor we work for has the mikita model. in Milwaukee numbers the mikita turns up to about 9 but is more all over the place. a 7 or 8 speed on the Milwaukee would be awesome for big windows or tilt panel buildings. my forearms have never been so happy tho, no more pumping a gun. the electric is quite a bit heavier but not having to squeeze makes 1 handed shooting possible. if your getting this gun and usind it a lot it may be worth ordering a couple extra plastic plunger pieces with it. the metal washer behind it should not need to be replaced sawtooth caulking

very good, performs as well as I hoped
I have never used a powered caulking gun before and this one has performed better than expected. We are using the gun to apply adhesive to structural insulated panels. This gun has increased our assembly speed and reduced the waste of material. The gun has a "drawback" feature that stops the flow of adhesive almost immediately upon release of the trigger. The clean-up of the gun is quick and easy. Replacing spent sausage tubes takes very little time and produces less trash at the job site. If there is a down side, we have gone through six tips on this project. They seem to break at their base if the user leans a little too hard on them. They cost about $6.50 each and are available only at a Milwaukee repair shop. I guess the real downside is Home Depot. They need to stock support items at their stores if they want to sell them. I guess the only thing that knocks down my rating is lack of support by Home Depot.
