Awesome investment. Consistent clean cuts, no need to chase them. One thing I did wish it had was a lock button to prevent accident usage or cuts. Overall great product

Great time saving tool.

Cuts 3/8" just fine, for those of you who don't know how to measure- 3/8 is smaller than 1/2!!! This tool was not made to cut half inch rod so I'm not surprised you're having issues! I hope your work is better than your attention to detail.

Bought this tool to help make life easier. Does a quick clean cut on threaded rod. I Have had no issues with starting nuts or split rings. Tool is very quick when you have to cut a lot of threaded rod. Only reason I'm giving it four stars is due to its price, size and weight. It is very expensive to only be able to cut threaded rod. Also Definitely not something I would want to be working overhead with all day long. Other than that the tool is very useful if you have a use for it. I invested in it because I cut a lot of threaded rod but if you only need once in awhile I don't believe it would be worth the investment.

Quick on cutting the all thread. Little on the heavy side.

It works well. 1 out of 5 cuts, threads need to be cleaned up.

So I've used the job sites all thread cutter. All was good tell it broke in the middle of a cut. Shocking me, my journey person l, and also my Forman. I wish I would have taken photos of it but the job site I am currently on has a strict 0 photo policy. I would gladly own my own if I had a use for it. It's very handy and makes it super easy. If I had a small hand held bandsaw with adjustable metal catching tray would be the best idea.

The tool would not even make a single cut in 1/2" threaded rod. It may work fine for other sizes but definitely not for 1/2" rod. This is the first time I have ever been disappointed by a Milwaukee tool.

Is a very usual tool. Fast .clean.and precision..home run .by home depot

I cut a lot of rod. It wont really pay off till the end of the job when i have to go through and trim off my hangers

I have used this tool many times and love the idea, but every cut always has a issue with the nut not going on. I have tired 3 different dies and each one has done it. I don't know if its a flaw or not. Just as of right now its a tool that sits on a shelf

I’m a commercial new construction plumber and have to make hundreds of cuts for hangers. I knew this tool was a one trick pony but it doesn’t even do it’s one trick well smh. Still leaves a bur on the end of the rod and either use channel locks to get the nut on or bust out the bandsaw to get a better cut. It doesn’t cut 1/2” rod and no it wasn’t stainless rod either, and yes I made sure it had a full battery. All my power tools are Milwaukee but really disappointed in this tool especially because it wasn’t cheap. Better off buying a bandsaw. Only reason a gave it an extra star was because it is easier to cut rod when you’re on a ladder, but still need channel locks to get the nut on. Oh and would of been nice if it had a rafter hook to hang off the ladder/lift.

/amazing tool, I cut 1/4 in stainless rod and this tool cut with no burr. I have cut 500 so far and am happy with the performance. The handle gets warm but to be expected?

I just got this product because I do Construcktion and cut a lot of 1/2 threaded rod over electrical machines. So far this thing is worth every penny. If it gets bad I’ll post about it.

This is my go to tool for cutting all thread on the ground or in the air . For burr free cutting this is a must . Easy to use and dependable.

this tool could be great if it did what they say it did. Got for a job that had a lot of 3/8 rod and it worked well, soon as i figured out the best way to hold the tool/ rod to get the cleanest cut. No complaints. A few days ago had a few pieces of 1/2 rod to cut and figured I'd show off my new cool tool to a few buddies. Boy did i look like a fool! Wouldn't even put a mark in 1/2 rod..... i have a lot of red tools and all of them except for this one have been great. Hopefully milwaukee will step up and fix the issue, or at least not make false claims.

Works great, quick, efficient. It is heavier than I expected, but that translates to heavy duty.

Its large grip makes it a little hard to grip in hard to reach areas.

A great tool for quickly cutting threaded rod when we need it to mount our PLC panels underground! Very quick and precise cutting, has easily halved the time it took me before to prep my rod mounts. Just be careful when cutting that you keep the thread parallel to the cutting head, as any deviation will cause a hassle when trying to thread nuts on. Overall a great help on the job!
