This thing is amazing. If you run large gauge wire for industrial electricity, this could make your life a lot easier. It works so well and saves me wear and tear on my hands since I don't have to manually strip wire anymore. Plus it is faster. You can really get a lot more done with this as it strips so well and so quick. I would definitely recommend to anyone who runs large wire.

MILWAUKEE M18 18-VOLT LITHIUM-ION CORDLESS CABLE STRIPPER KIT FOR AL THHN/XHHW WIRE CUTTING This Milwaukee cable/wire stripper has been very handy for me. I got it to help my buddy that was doing some electrical work for me and he liked it so much he went out and bought his own. I took mine to work to see if it will work on stripping wires I use all the time. For installing battery cables and power ground wires for amp installs. It does great at stripping wires from 4 gauge all the way up to 00 gauge. The size of the tool is big but it’s big enough that it doesn’t put you in a bind when using it. So you can hold the tool with one hand and the wire with the other hand. Once you set the depth gauge you can strip all your wires and they all come out the same. I’ve had to adjust some of the cutting bits to work correctly on the wiring I use but after that it strips the installation off without messing with any of the strands of wire. If you do a lot of wiring using big gauge wire and you want a stripper to help out so your installs go faster and look cleaner this it it I’ll post a pic of some of the wiring I use.

This kit comes with the dies needed to strip cable sizes 1/0 to 750 MCM. It will strip cables to 3 inches. The compact head allows you to get into tight panels. If you work with bigger wiring this tool makes stripping the ends for termination a mindless task. This is a nice and durable wire/cable stripping machine. It it light weight and compact enough for using in most electrical cabinets and panels. The 18 v lasts along time on the job. The trimming heads are easy to change going from 1/0 to 750 mcm. This is not a weekend warrior tool or made to strip bare wire, just made for electrical installations only. The only drawback is the case takes up a lot of room.

I work with heavy duty insulated wire cable from time to time in my job as a maintence man for a large company and when it came to stripping the cover or insulation on the larger cable I found it somewhat difficult as it was too large for the wire stripper pliers that I had for normal electrical work. Now I find that with this great 18 volt portable stripper tool it has made life much easier. Since I have a couple friends that work much more often with the larger shielded cable I went to their place of business to try the stripper out on many different size cables with them also joining in with me. In all cases the wire cable stripper made easy short work out of the job and impressed them to also want to purchase one of them. I found it very easy to adjust the length of the stripping as well as interchanging the sockets for the various diameter cables. really a great tool for working with heavy wire cable.

I received my Milwaukee M18 18-Volt lithium-Ion cordless cable stripper for Al THHN / XHHW wire cutting kit. This is a complete kit with 11 cutting bushings. The adjustable depth gauge works really good and can be set up to 3 inches. Its is easy to set too. With the quick-change bushing system the bushings can be changed quickly and easily. I stripped a couple cables with it & it was very fast and accurate. It comes with a battery, charger and a very nice carrying case. This tool will save time & strip cables perfectly.

Seriously good tool that makes light work of stripping cable insulation – see video. The kit covers eleven cable sizes and additional bushing kits are available. The quick change bushings can be swapped in seconds yet lock in very securely. The cutting blade on each bushing can be easily adjusted and also replaced when they become too dull but I imagine that would be a very long time. The tool itself is extremely well made and easy to handle. Its relative compactness makes it easier to use in tight spaces. The trigger is sensitive to pressure so a little pressure results in a slow cutting and applying more pressure increases the cut speed. The cut depth adjustment is simple and accurate and marked in SAE with metric on the other side. The 2.0 Amp hour battery showed 2 bars of charge when I first put it on the charger, just 35 minutes later the battery showed a full four bars and was fully charged. This tool can be used with any of the M18 range of batteries.

Didn’t come with the copper dies that’s an extra 400$

I ordered one thinking it would work great for us, we unfortunately use a lot of urd cable and none of the dies are offered for urd wire yet. When we can use it, it works great!! Please get some barrels for urd type wire soon!!

High-quality long-lasting batteries

The batteries for the M18 Impact worked perfectly. Tried other brands, but the were junk. The Milwaukee batteries are the only ones for me, from now on.

Normally I would not buy the large battery as it has a very short operational life but since it was bundled at a give away price with two longer lasting 5 amp batteries it was worth the throw away purchase price
