I installed on the washer vs the valve. It has made significant difference.

both are working perfectly (hot and cold). It went from a loud bang that you could hear it throughout the house to absolute silence.

They were easy enough to install but am still getting banging sound

Usually don't write reviews, but had to note that this solved our air hammer issue/rattling pipes after running the washer. We would also have the issue sometimes after flushing toilets, but that seems to also be gone as well, even though two of these were just installed only at the hot and cold for the washer and dryer. Can't believe it worked so well!

Can’t tighten the item tight enough to not drip. It’s replacing one that was previously in its place

Purchased a new Maytag washing machine, a piece of garbage, which has the new mechanical designs that cause the pipes in the house to hammer like crazy. We thought the machine exploded in the basement when we first tried it. We've come to find out that it's Maytag's way of making a new High Efficiency washer. After doing some research it was recommended we add a couple of hammer arresters. These made little to no difference at all. Now we're stuck with a piece of garbage for a machine we can't return and arresters we can't return. How luck can you get?

Product worked amazing for stopping the air horn effect after flushing my toilets. Def would recommend to take the pressure off your pipes if needed

The water hammer arresters greatly reduced the banging of our water pipes. The two units were easy to install onto our new washing machine. They have been in use for roughly one month, and have met our expectations.

Installed hammer arresters on the back of washer. Easy installation with no leaks. Took away 3/4 of the hammer. Really pleased with the results. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Solved the hammering problem

I purchased this device at the suggestion of the HD Associate. It was homeowner friendly - no soldering - .The installation was simple, but you needed to have 3/4" plumber tape to do it properly It reduced the extreme water banging (rapid machine gun), but some strong sound still remains

It works beautiful good product.

Bought 2 of these in the store, packages were sealed so they weren't a "returned item" good quality but poor quality control. The washer inside 1 of them was too small and didn't fill the seat on the water inlet side. Consequently it leaked.

Works great! We recently bought an "advanced" washing machine that monitors water temperature and cuts the cold and hot off constantly. The water hammer is totally abated regardless of the rapid valve cycling of the washing machine. This configuration screws directly on the back inlets of the washing machine, (no pipe cutting) and permits vertical connection of the supply hoses. No droop or hose kink. Do not buy something else.

Replaced worn out, years old Sioux Chief models, and it seems slightly less dampening than the old ones were. Still better than none. If you have an LG washer, it will help.

EXCELLENT! No more banging pipes. This is an easy, inexpensive, fix for an annoying problem. I highly recommend them.

Oatey Quiet Pipes stopped the knocking caused by our washing machine. Installation was easy.

When we found someone, he was very good about locating the arresters, which we never would have found on our own.

Very, very happy with my purchase , very easy to install, pair of pliers might be needed but hand tight did the work for me , 100 % recommended , the noise is gone finally, tnx a million !

Even after installation of the arrestors on the hot and cold water faucets, water hammering still occurred. I'm not sure whether the arrestors really helped much.
