It was quick and efficient. I applied using a large sponge and left in for a little while then sprayed off with the hose. It cleaned the entire area very thoroughly. I would definitely recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] PPG Deck Cleaner is a potent product that does a remarkable job on wooden decks, and does a pretty good job on concrete/aggregate driveway surfaces. First, please note that this product should be carefully stored because it will bleach anything it contacts. The instructions are to use this cleaner full strength using a pump-style sprayer; they also say to not scrub. I discovered that our sprayer is broken, so I had to improvise and use a trigger sprayer bottle. I’ve had two projects: a very badly drained wooden deck where pots and other items had sat wet for ages and had darkened the wood significantly. I treated this deeply soiled area two times. Initially, the results were disappointing. However, once the surface had fully dried, the results were actually impressive. My second project is an area of the concrete/aggregate driveway where the HVAC condensate drain drips onto it. This area is always wet and is much darker than the rest of the driveway. The instructions call for treating a dry area, which was impossible in this case. The results were not as dramatic as those on the wooden deck, but there is still significant improvement. I also need to give a strong precaution to use in a well-ventilated area because the bleachy odor is very strong. I also recommend using good gloves to protect your skin.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Olympic Deck Cleaner, can be used on multiple surfaces such as wood and brick. In order to use the cleaner I had to purchase a sprayer to put it in to apply. There is no mixing, I simply put into the sprayer, sprayed onto the mildew on a small section of my deck boards first to test and let it set for approximately 10 minutes, rinsed off using a garden hose. It cleaned those boards nicely, with just some easy once over with a brush. Labeling states one gallon cleans up to 300 sq. feet, so I will be purchasing a additional gallon to use on my entire 500 sq. foot deck to clean, since I'm satisfied with the results that were achieved.

It was so grimy and I loved seeing all of that dirt wash away after letting this cleaner just sit for a little while! We have had a ton of rain here lately so there was also some mildew build up and I was shocked to see that I didn't have to scrub! This cleaner just washed it all away! My deck is light gray, and my trim is white, and it frequently gets a greenish algae from the moisture in the south during the winter time. I use the Olympic premium deck cleaner to quickly get the grime off without a lot of scrubbing. I use this deck cleaner last weekend, and it did an amazing job of cutting through the mold and mildew and leaving the finish on my deck unharmed. It worked really well, despite not having harsh chemicals in it. I was surprised how quickly I was able to spray the cleaner off, and that had already cut through most of the grime. As a result, I had to do minimal scrubbing on the deck, perfectly clean. I would highly recommend your decks and porches in the south or anywhere where they get grimy over the winter. I found that it worked quickly with minimal effort and was very easy to apply with a sprayer. We had the whole deck all of my porches done and just under a couple hours.

This Olympic deck cleaner was so easy to use and my deck is so nice and clean and looks great with my new stain on top.

Since it can be used for more than decking, including siding, I decided to start from the top down. It is nice that there is no mixing needed, but the bottle would be better if it came with a sprayer rather than needing to put it in a different container to be able to use it. It says "virtually" no scrubbing required, but I found the results are better if you do put at least a little work into it. I usually pressure wash, so this is just an added benefit to spray this on before washing it off. I like that it works on not just dirt, but also mold and mildew stains. I also like that there is a little see-through part on the side of the bottle so you can see how much product is left.

I like that because it means I don't have to get multiple different cleaners for different things. I started out using this on my shed. One side is in constant shade so the bottom of the wood is green from mold/mildew. I tested a patch before doing the whole area, and you can see in the pictures the difference from where I used it and where I did not. I like that no scrubbing is needed because the shed wood is very textured and would be hard to scrub. This was easy to apply, but it is important to read and follow the directions, especially regarding using safety gear and protecting plants. Don't just assume you know what to do because I found it interesting that this is sprayed on dry material and then rinsed away. The only improvement I could see on this would be if it had its own sprayer hose instead of needing to pour it into a different container to be able to spray it where needed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our deck is approximately 450 sq feet. This package says it will clean up to 350 sq ft, so I purchased another gallon to finish the job. And what a job it did of cleaning our weathered gray decking. The before and after photos barely show the huge difference. After a long winter of harsh weather, our open-air deck was in dire need of cleaning, and this product worked great.

I wish I would have read reviews on here first! Same experience as many people. Applied the "cleaner", definitely more like stripper, for 5 minutes and rinsed! Now the wood is blotchy and fuzzy! DO NOT BUY THIS! My deck is only a year old and it looks horrible! Now instead of my next step being stain, I have to figure out how to fix this. Take this off the market or rebrand it as a stripper.

This is the second review I have left for Olympic Deck Cleaner. The first one disappeared. I have used this product almost exclusively for cleaning my wooden deck and fence. This year I waited too late and it was temporarily out of stock. I bought a different product and was very disappointed with its performance. Olympic does the job well and I will continue to use it.

I used this product exactly as the directions said on a perfectly good fence. It turned the entire top layer of the wood into a fuzzy disaster. It’s more of a stripper than a cleaner. I will now be sanding everything that I used this on before staining. Total disaster of a product.

Product corroded through container and leaked on to leather baseball mitt in garage, putting a hole in the leather baseball mitt. Also, do not recommend using with leather work gloves. Product did clean composite deck well.

Just bought 2.5 gallons of this product to use on a 2year old deck…after using SealOnce sealer on it a year ago. First used it on the top rail & got the results in the photo…fuzzy finish as if it had been pressure washed on high setting. This wood has never been pressure cleaned. What’s happened & can it be fixed????

About every 4 years I have used Olympic Deck Cleaner prior to using Olympic Honey Gold Stain. The deck cleaner delivers a look like the deck was just built - and its now its over 20 years old. I spray it on and brush off the black film and mold and it looks brand new. I included a photo below - highly recommend!

Called company to ask why people complained about this cleaner. Was told it works as long as you don’t let it dry. I soaked this and this is the result! How can they continue to sell a “cleaner” that ruins wood?!

Our deck is about 10 years old, never treated, never stained. It had weathered well but was definitely very dirty from years of use. We gave it a hearty power washing over two days, but there were still a few spots we missed and a few spots we thought a deck cleaning product could improve upon. I applied this product liberally (to lightly foaming), let it sit for 10 minutes or a tad more, then rinsed well. There was really no noticeable difference. In some spots, where the boards were fairly well clean, it just faded the board (kind of like bleach would do). We had one spot we totally missed that was covered in dirt and algae/moss; after application, it was absolutely the same. I’ve attached some before and after pics (top 2 of one area, bottom two of a second area) and the last pic on the bottom of the spot we’d missed after the application of the product. You can see the results; it just didn’t live up to the hype. So…very disappointed, and I would not recommend this product. Honestly, if there were a guarantee, I’d request a refund. Total waste of money for us.

I recently used this cleaner on my composite wood deck. It did an okay job of removing stains but now I have a bunch of areas on my deck that look worn away. It’s like this cleaner stripped the color off my deck. In my photo, the left side is where I used the cleaner and the right side is where I just power washed. Perhaps I left it on too long? Not sure. I’m just glad I ran out of the cleaner and didn’t bother to go buy more.

This product is the best in terms of how effective and easy to use it is. I started on the back deck, power washing, using this cleaner, scrubbing it in then power washing again and it looked great. By the time I got to my front porch I was warn out and skipped alot of steps. I put it in a spray bottle and sprayed it on and like magic it melted the dirt and grime away (even better then all the scrubbing and powerwashing!) I included a picture of what it looked like after just being sprayed on. The only con with this porduct is it does have a very strong smell, if you are sensitive i would recommend wearing a mask. It did irratate my hands a little bit and made holes in leather gloves where product got on.
